Dude, how can it be that every single fucking thing about US politics trends on here immediately, yet when 27 countries in the EU vote and there's a historic, alarming lurch to the right (far right parties have won the elections in Italy, Austria and France), it's not even trending? In Germany, the AFD, a right-wing populist, anti-democratic, racist party with a wing that is officially extremist (read: Nazis) and is in parts monitored by the office for the protection of the constitution, is the second strongest party (also among 17-24 year olds!). Guess I'll die.

Finally ready to confess that when I first watched The Sandman, because of a combinations of things I remembered from the comics (Lucien) and things I had forgotten (that he used to be a raven) I simply assumed that I was meant to read Lucienne as a trans woman from her first appearance (I will allow that I had newly-acquired brain damage at the time so this was maybe not the most obvious conclusion to jump to) and then I took her later comment about how she used to be something else as full confirmation of this.
I assumed Dream didn't say anything because y'know, there were bigger things going on and it was not the most difficult thing in the world to simply roll with and maybe he was even delighted! He looked both so happy and so surprised to see her, y'know?
Anyway then I wandered into the fandom and wondered why no one else was talking about this. To me, in my little newly-damaged brain, it was the single most exciting thing that had ever happened on television?? So I also didn't say anything because that made me nervous.
Took me weeks to realise that I had misread the situation a bit but you know? I'm still a little married to the the headcanon that Lucienne transed her gender while Dream wasn't looking and he didn't even bat an eyelid.

I think we need to bring back ship and let ship tbh (and yes I am referring to ALL ships here. There is no "but what about..." because I am referring to EVERYTHING here). This is always going to be my philosophy. If I don't like something I literally either block or ignore it. Nobody is responsible for your own online experience except for you.
It's nobody else's job to deal with your squicks and triggers; that is exclusively on you. You don't know why someone ships what they do or creates the content they do. They could be coping with trauma. They could be trying to work through something in a healthy manner instead of taking it out on someone else. They could just want to explore darker themes. You don't know the details of why someone creates or consumes the content that they do and it's your responsibility to avoid content that you might find triggering.
If you don't like something, nobody's forcing you to read it, and if you don't like a ship, ignore it and/or block it. Stop trying to control fandom spaces, curate your own experience. Nobody else should have to be afraid of harassment because of conservative views on content and people who don't know how the fuck to curate their own experiences.
(We also need to stop telling people to stop shipping crakships, rarepairs, OC x canon, etc?? That's a staple of fandom culture lol)
