SPIRK PINUP WRITERS WANTED!
Come be part of our wildly popular Live Long And Pinup Reverse Bang!
Art slots are full, but we are enthusiastically welcoming writers who love to put their favorite Captain and First Officer in Situations!
That’s right - 36 incredible Star Trek artists have signed up to create Pinups for the Live Long and Pinup Reverse bang! We hoped it would be popular, but we’re still bowled over that all our art slots filled up in less than 2 days!
Half our writer slots are taken, which means we need YOU to join us! Come write a fun story based around some incredible pinup art of Kirk and Spock!
In a Reverse Bang, the art comes first. When our talented artists have finished their work, the writers submit preferences and are matched up with an artist. From there, the writer and artist are welcome to collaborate about the story. It’s great fun!
Pin-up art and fics will be posted in a collection on Ao3 and in an online Zine. The two calendars (one for Kirk and one for Spock) will be sold online at cost. (No fics will be in the calendars. Just pretty pretty pinup pictures.)

YOOO. This is a very sweet idea!
Anyone can throw out a prompt certainly- if we see them we'll make sure to mention them in the LLAP Discord server we have going. The mods definitely have our own little wishlist (though no one is required to use those).
The only issue for this one is that the pin-ups are required to be a single figure- there's going to be a Kirk calendar and a Spock calendar and all the pieces will be one or the other.
For the fic, on the other hand, that doesn't matter. The writers can do pretty much whatever they want (we're encouraging more light hearted stuff generally and nothing very dark or that would require like an archive warning etc).
But I'll post about one of them warming in front of the fire with those shots or I'm sure they'll see it here. Thanks @eternally-intermittent !

Are you ready…FOR THE SPIRK EVENT OF THE 21ST CENTURY?!
If you are an ARTIST, and love drawing Kirk and Spock we need YOU to illustrate Kirk & Spock pin-ups for a 2025 pin-up calendar!
What do pin-ups looks like? See examples under the cut below!
The aim is to create at least one full calendar of Kirk & Spock pin-ups which will be printed and sold at cost.
If we have enough artists to create a full Spock calendar and a full Kirk calendar we will be selling TWO CALENDARS at cost.
If you are a WRITER and love writing Spirk, we need YOU to sign-up. Once the pin-up art is (mostly) completed writers will be paired with artists to write a fic inspired by the pin-up!
Pin-up art and fics will be posted in a collection on Ao3.

We’ve sent confirmation emails to the lucky 26 artists who pounced on this event.
Why yes, that number went up from 24 to 26! We decided to go with 13 month calendars in order to give more people a chance to participate!
Your emails are full of all sorts of event details. Please look them over before DMing us with questions. 85% of your answers are already there.
We are absolutely amazed by the artist's response to this event! We thought it might be popular, but none of us thought we would fill up the calendar in less than one day!
BUT WAIT, NEW ARTISTS CAN STILL PARTICIPATE!
While the calendar itself is full, we still have room in the Zine/Ao3 collection! The only difference is that your art won’t be in the print calendar.

We announced the event yesterday and now all 24 of our calendar artist slots are full. Our Mod’s minds are blown!
We want to see Spirk pinups just as much as the Star Trek art community wants to create them. While the print calendar filled up crazy fast, there’s still plenty of space in the online-only Zine!

OUR ART SLOTS ARE NEARLY FULL!
Great googly moogly! It’s been less than a day and Live Long and Pinup already has 17 artists signed up! There are a max of 24 slots available for the print calendar, on a first come, first served basis.
If you want to contribute calendar art to the Live Long and Pinup reverse bang, get your applications in now!
BUT MODS, you ask, WHAT IF I’M THE 25th PERSON TO SUBMIT?
The good news is you can still be in the Zine!
There is so much enthusiasm for this event that it’s going to end in:

When we started this, half the mods thought gosh, I sure hope we’ll be able to recruit enough artists to fill one whole calendar! The other half said we’d be full in a week. It turns out we’re both wrong. The calendar is going to fill up in less than two days.

Hilda Pinup Inspiration
The idea for this Reverse Bang was inspired by wanting to see Jim Kirk in classic Duane Bryer's "Hilda" pinup poses.
You're not limited to the gleeful sexiness that is Hilda! Give us your Spock as Betty Paige, or Kirk bent over in a Skant, or Spirk versions of any Classic 50's Pinups.
