I don't feel safe ever coming out as asexual because I'm autistic with mental illnesses, and I feel like the people around me might make me get treatments to try and "cure" me.

But is it actually okay if i am asexual because of autism/mental health problems? I don't know. I just feel very invalid.

what's your opinion on the color scheme of the aroace flag? not the meaning behind the colours, just the colors themselves.

I think it’s a nice enough colour scheme and I understand that it doesn’t include purple or green to show that people often can’t separate out being aro or being ace. I personally don’t have a connection with it, I prefer the individual purple and green flags

and if you experience sexual attraction how can you define as ace (genuine question)

Asexual is defined as experiencing little to no sexual attraction but it is a spectrum so for example you could be demisexual which is when you only experience sexual attraction once you’ve formed an emotional bond with someone but the rest of the time you don’t feel that attraction. There’s tonnes of other micro labels that describe ways you can experience little sexual attraction. Using these micro labels under the asexual umbrella are a way of showing a) the broad diversity of asexuality and b) that asexuals or people on the asexual spectrum have a community because often we can feel excluded from allosexual spaces

how would you separate the definition of horny and sexual attraction?

I think that horny is the general feeling of wanting to have sex/masturbate possibly because of watching/reading/listening to sexual content. The amount you feel horny is linked to your libido so for example if you don’t feel horny very often then you’d probably say you have low libido and vice versa.

Sexual attraction (apparently) is more directed at a specific person or group of people so looking at or being around someone you are sexually attracted to can make you want to have sex with them.

Sex-repulsed aces need more rep cause I feel invisible.

Asexual people can still get horny, we can still masturbate, we can still have and enjoy sex*

Asexually is a lack of Sexual Attraction not a lack of horny

AND That's not even getting into how asexual is an Umbrella Term and so some asexuals DO feel sexual attraction in certain situations like demisexuals and greysexuals

*Many asexuals don't like or want sex, myself included, but some do, we aren't a monolith that has the same opinions on everything

When I was in high school my friends and I were helping our teacher sort a new display for the wall and the theme was love and we all had to write on a postcard what we thought love is and I legit wrote ‘love is foreign’ and it took me 28 years to realise I was aromantic hahahahah
