I wonder how much correlation there is between whether your favourite 2D games are side-scrollers or top-down and where you think the Z axis in a 3D game engine should go.
Hey guess what Steam Next Fest starts in just a few days (June 10) during which you can check out a brand new demo of Vollema for the astronomically high price of free!
(... or you could do it right now if you're quick)
I think it's really important to look at games from a production standpoint, because I think when people don't it's because they ignore it so they can view them from framings they understand, which usually ends up being interpersonal or strictly "design in a vaccum" standpoints.
If they don't know how game dev in a studio works people start to armchair psychologist game development teams based on the work they create ("clearly this team didn't care about this game/hated each other!") or drawing from ideas that ignore production contexts outright ("if they simply implemented this in a way that is impossible to do on a budget/with a team of this size then the game would be better!"). I see so much of both of these on this site, and both really annoy me in no small part because they just outright ignore how games are actually made.
Sorry to be a Merikh simp on main, but at this point in the story is he at all interested or intrigued by MC? Or is he still strictly in professional working relationship mode?
It depends... Have you picked one of his little heart options?
If so, then he is very much trying to stay FOCUSED and is not distracted AT ALL.
One of these days I'm going to develop a metroidvania and deliberately put the ending credits trigger on the same screen as the starting point so that any speedrun category which allows wall-clipping or OOB is automatically ten seconds long.
I am a solo indie dev trying to overcome my anxiety and actually let people know my game exists. It is a cute physics based game where you are the level.
I love making this game with passion and I am so excited to share it with the world, but somehow I need to let the world know. Unfortunately the way steam works is the more wishlists the more visibility, so if you are interested it is super appreciated :)
