Brucetinez hcs I just pulled out of my ass cause I read a smut fic

—

-Martinez goes from calling Bruce “freak! >:(“ to “freak❤️”. It becomes a pet name within the Brucetinez household tbh.

-they both don’t know how to cook, so it just becomes chaotic when they try to (you can’t tell me that Martinez isn’t surviving off of ramen packets). Egg gets on the ceiling somehow, a whole civilization is starting in a singular pot, and their sauce turned into a gelatin.

-bcs of their lack of cooking skills, they just order chinese. Bruce discovers wonton is his favourite takeout dish, along with the sesame chicken.

-Though Bruce loves Alfred and life wouldn’t be the same without Dory, Martinez is one of the few things that bring normalcy to his life. He isn’t the bank, or a running mayor, he’s just a police officer going from shift to shift, who wants nothing to do with him.

-the first time Martinez actually considered Bruce as more than a colleague, was when he was desk-bound one day, and listening to the radio. He had put it on for BG noise, then the song Hey! Love by The Delfonics came on, and it got him thinking.

-Martinez finds himself missing the masked vigilante whenever he’s desk-bound.

-when Martinez is off being desk-bound, Bruce asks Gordon about him and his whereabouts, sense he’s too shy to ask Martinez himself. and when questioned why he’s asking he waves it off as just a formality.

-Martinez receives occasional phone calls from Bruce but all under different numbers, so when a number is all decrepit and random, he knows it’s Bruce attempting to flirt like a normal human being again.

Title: With Words I Thought I’d Never Speak

Summary: In the year following the Riddler's attacks, Martinez somehow found himself involved at least peripherally with two of Gotham's odder figures: Batman and Bruce Wayne. For all his initial dislike of Batman, a year's worth of cases resulted in a somewhat grudging respect for the vigilante's intelligence and investigative skill, even if he never quite became any less strange and unsettling. Martinez developed a new found appreciation for Bruce Wayne as well, an odd but likeable man who was pleasant to work with in his own awkward way. During an investigation into a death possibly connected to Penguin, Martinez accidentally learns that the two odd characters he's spent an increasing amount of time interacting with over the past year are actually the same person, who's far more complex (and far more human) than he'd ever realized

Bruce setup an automated system to send Martinez personalized cards whenever his birthday roles by.

Martinez always offers Bruce the last donut in a box.

They’re First Time™ was done in the dark cause Bruce was still weary about revealing his identity.

The first act of physical affection Bruce showed Martinez was cupping his hands into his own while blowing warm air onto them bcs he complained they were cold.

Martinez refers to Bruce as “Caballero De Negro” in his head.

Bruce stares at Martinez in his sleep. when they’re in bed together, I mean. He just doesn’t do it outside a window💀

They’re relationship is awkward, but they’re actually very intimate. Both physically and emotionally.

Bruce sends an array of flower arrangements to Martinez’s desk every Valentine’s Day, and he’s ultimately teased for it by his colleagues.

Martinez is the only one in the department (aside from Gordon) who actually sits through news segments abt The Batman.

They have breakfast each morning - before Martinez goes off to work - at a small diner, that Martinez insists is the best place for coffee, but Bruce thinks otherwise.
