Withers/Jergal scolding The Dead Three
Tumblr media
This is the very end of the game and it's a great end note. Jergal has had it with the Dead Three's bullshit.

Putting this out there for those of us who wants to redeem Gortash and free him from Bane 👀

I wish Larian had kept the option to be a cleric of one of the Dead Three because I think it would be hilarious to play another character who is like "I was with you until you tadpoled ME, wtf?"
(Also, imagine if you could pick being a Cleric of Bane/Myrkul for Durge??? Love to be at that family dinner in the Bhaal temple.
Orin saying "Father, I killed your favourite" Bhaal's like "But they're alive though???" And Orin says "I mangled their brain so badly they woke up thinking they were a Banite/Myrkulite..."
+ Plus extra dialogue with Gorts/Ketheric over this fact)

The Urge seethes at Isobel, at all the people she is protecting, at how much destruction and death will ripple outwards with her death, like a perfectly set row of dominos. But Isobel is Ketheric Thorm's daughter. Ketheric made his deal with Myrkul to bring Isobel back, and even with her hating him, hiding far away, Ketheric is still faithfully serving Myrkul and the Design.
So why, then, is the Dark Urge so compelled by the essence of Bhaal to kill Isobel?
His dethroning happened right under Ketheric's nose. Bhaal's vile prince was disgraced beneath Moonrise Towers, kept as an experimental plaything with Ketheric's knowledge, and then shipped off like that vessel, shattered as it was, was no more than a common foot soldier.
Ketheric may not have done the attack himself, but as far as Bhaal is concerned, Ketheric took away Bhaal's favorite dagger, meant to bleed the world, and now he's going to take away Ketheric's most precious treasure: Isobel.

Crazy how the whole plot of Baldur’s Gate is that Bhaal be hoeing. Mf been thotting for at least 2 centuries. I know Bane and Myrkul sick and tired of him

Thanks to BG3, I've started to love the Dead Three and their idiotic energy. 🙏. I am no designer, so trying to put their three edgy symbols certainly wasn't easy.

Being Discarded as a Chosen
Can this happen, with particular respect to a Chosen of the Dead Three?
According to the BG3 wiki page on the Dark Urge:
"....While most chaotic evil gods (including Bhaal) would discard a Chosen if they were no longer useful, such as Myrkul did with Ketheric after his defeat......"
And on the Myrkul page regarding the Act II battle:
"When the Apostle of Myrkul is defeated its body disintegrates and reverts back to Ketheric Thorm, reappearing on the platform. He begs Myrkul for aid but Myrkul does not respond to his pleas."
So, for example, if Gortash lived through the events of the game, would Bane 'discard' him as a Chosen for failing the plan with the cult of the Absolute? Or would remaining Archduke of Baldur's Gate still be acceptable enough for him to keep his Chosen status?

This is from talking to Ketheric in the Mind flayer colony if you're a cleric as Myrkul or Bane
Cleric/paladin of Bane.
Tumblr media
Player: You have an alliance with the Black Hand, Bane. I am his servant. You ought to work with me. Ketheric Thorm: A temptation or a threat? With your god, it's always the latter, isn't it? I only serve one god.
Cleric/paladin of Myrkul version
Tumblr media
Player: My place is at the Lord of Bones' side, like yours. Ketheric Thorm: All mortals find their place at our Lord's side in time - your time is now. I will continue to serve him on this plane as long as I am needed, for he has given me everything I want.
As of writing this post you can't play as a cleric/paladin of the dead three. But the dialogues exist. Maybe they have plans to add it later? It really would be kind of cool.
I want to play as a cleric of Bane, dammit!
