No actually, obsessed with the idea that as soon as both Durge n Gortash r dead, Gortash strikes a fucking deal with Bane or smth and goes soul raiding in Gehenna or wherever it is Bhaal is chilling rn. Like Gortash's soul just dips from the Banehold to embarrass Durge in front of their dad.
Bane tags along too cuz he can't miss the aneurysm Bhaals gonna have.
I try (in vain) to not obsess over every little piece of Durge flavortext on this blog, but man. Praying to dad was so revealing.
BHAAL IS IGNORING HIS BOY and only responding to flick him in the face... I love that we're just like "yeah, that's on par for Father." Love a guy who can't conceive of any path but the horrid one he was raised into
When Raphael "takes you to the House of Hope" he rolls his shoulders and cracks his neck to intimidate you, but like i'm too focused on his fuggo ass belt. Who told G to wear that. Who let him walk outside like that. He looks like half a clown, he just needs the paint. Harleep is more evil than Raphael for letting him "intimidate" his prey wit that. the faucet is fixed, there's no drip left. swagless and he still fucks himself over, twice in one day with Harleep.
Astarion's chat with Lae'zel after Vlaakith reveals herself to them at act 3 camp
Astarion: So, you finally saw the light and turned on your mistress. It took a little time, but you got there. Though it's not over yet. Masters rarely let their slaves go without a fight.
Answer 1
Lae'zel: Let her come. I'll be ready.
Astarion: I hope you will. For all our sakes. But that's a problem for the future. What are we doing now?
Answer 2
Lae'zel: And if she does chase me - will you stand with me?
Astarion: How could I not fight for such a noble cause? Unless you're going to lose, in which case I would have to think about it.
Answer 3
Lae'zel: This is none of your concern.
Astarion: Not yet, but it will become my concern very quickly if a pissed-off god-queen sends a legion of warriors after you. Not that I mind you sticking a thumb in your slaver's eye, I just like to keep track of who wants us dead.
I especially like his answer to the last option. He is rational and gives his support to Lae'zel. It feels so unlike him, compared to the act 1 Astarion. But I guess he feels he and Lae'zel are somewhat similar.
I was always befuddled how such a mindflayer can be so hard to trust while ultimately having simultaneous goals as the team. Then I finally saw their stats in the other timeline.
It all makes sense now.
I am forever bemused by this this lower-than-the-average-squid-charisma disaster of a mindflayer.
I can only surmise that when the Emperor said Stelmane was the face of their business-partnership, it was not only meant literally but charismatically as well. Squid buddy's got the brains, none of the suave. If Emps tried rebuilding the Knights of the Shield without another business buddy, it might've been a tad difficult if morals were concerned huah.
