Granny Weatherwax was the strongest witch in the Discworld books. When Sir Terry Pratchett found out he was dying, he needed to say goodbye to his fans. He did that through the passing of the beloved character of Granny Weatherwax in “The Shepherd’s Crown”
Even though when he was already gone when I started reading the discworld books, it was still very heartbreaking. She also kept bees as part of her specialty and after she passed, her protégé had to tell the bees. I’ve always felt like us the readers were Sir Terry’s bees.
Posted ages ago on my ko-fi, but what the hell. I don't have time to draw new art TT_TT
It's difficult to draw someone who looks like everyone else and anyone at the same time. I imagine if beige was a person, they would have to look like Moist von Lipwig. I was going for the sort of coloring that would make it difficult to recall / describe the exact color of hair, eyes and skin. Which is, mostly, just brown-ish with a vague hint of Jerry from HR.
Just another face in the crowd. Wearing the very black, golem-made suit.
You'll remember the words, the golden hat and the swagger - but not the person.
Terry Pratchett’s concept of the Trolls in the Discworld universe was some of my favorite writing. A trolls name usually describes what they’re made of. A diamond troll is the indisputable King of Trolls. Heres my version of Mr. Shine, Diamond King of Trolls.
Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards, for they are bananas, more or less literally.
I don't know the whole story here but in my heart it turns out to be unbelievably more complex than "the Archchancellor stole my bananas" as the crime was first reported. Not that he wouldn't do that. As for Vimes' looks, I read that "Pratchett says in the companion work, The Art of Discworld, that he has always imagined Vimes as a younger, slightly bulkier version of late British actor Pete Postlethwaite" so I tried my hand at that!
