The moment of the violent arrest of the economics professor of Emory University Caroline Fohlinin in the state of Georgia
After these scenes, there must be a position for all universities around the world to stand with the people of Palestine in Gaza. All hypocritical authorities and rulers who support the Nazi terrorist Israelis must be confronted.
Who had the brain fart to send BoBo GED to a university. When she was talking about universities at the beginning I think I heard someone shout “how would you know.”
The majority of people arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) while clearing a pro-Palestinian encampment at George Washington University (GWU) were not students, D.C. Police Chief Pamela Smith said on Thursday.
Police began clearing the encampment at GWU in the early Wednesday morning hours after nearly two weeks of protesters occupying the campus. The MPD arrested 33 individuals, 11 of which were students at the institution, D.C. Police Chief Pamela Smith told FOX 5 Washington D.C. on Thursday.
“As we continued to watch [the encampment] we saw an escalation in some of the activity … and when we realized we had enough intelligence, information, to move in to clear the encampment, we made that decision,” Smith said.
MPD Deputy Director of Communications Paris Lewbel confirmed to the Daily Caller News Foundation that “11 of the arrestees identified themselves as George Washington University students.” A spokesperson for the university gave the DCNF a different figure, saying that just six of those arrested were current students. Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser was set to testify before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability on Wednesday, but it was canceled after the MPD cleared the encampment.
MPD would treat future pro-Palestinian protests as it would “any other protest or demonstration” by ensuring they are “protecting those who choose to exercise their 1st Amendment right,” Smith said.
Other universities have also reported outside individuals participating in pro-Palestinian protests.
May 5, 2024 - In Washington DC student protesters against the Israeli genocide in Palestine identified Rudy Rochman, an IDF sniper who participated in Israel's invasion of Khan Younis and surely murdered innocents there, trying to infiltrate the protest encampment.
They drove him out, chanting things like "Babykillers off our campus! Rudy Rochman off our campus!" and "Rudy Rochman you can't hide, you committed genocide!". [video]
Police in the United States capital have broken up a student protest encampment at George Washington University, one of dozens of tent camps set up on campuses across the country in support of Palestinians in Gaza.
The Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC, said in a statement that it “moved to disperse” demonstrators on Wednesday morning after “a gradual escalation in the volatility of the protest”. It did not elaborate on what exactly that means.
“During the course of the operation, arrests were made for Assault on a Police Officer and Unlawful Entry,” the department said.
Police Chief Pamela Smith said during a news conference later on Wednesday that 33 arrests were made.
When Christian Nationalist Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) visited George Washington University (GW) yesterday to complain about a pro-Palestinian encampment there, students repeatedly shouted “Beetlejuice!” at her. The jeer referenced the time she was kicked out of a theatre during a performance of Beetlejuice: The Musical after she was caught vaping, groping her date, and flipping off an usher — and it’s not the first time critics have used the incident to mock her.
Boebert toured the university’s Washington D.C. campus on Wednesday to view the encampment alongside other House Republicans, including Reps. Byron Donalds (FL), Anna Paulina Luna (FL), and James Comer (KY). Students from GW and other D.C. area colleges and universities established the encampment last week.
During the visit, Boebert tried to tear down a Palestinian flag hanging from a statue. She told others to remove the flag, because the statue is federal property. Addressing a group at GW, Boebert referred to the encampment, saying, “If [GW doesn’t] want to do something to address this? Well, then kiss your federal funding goodbye,” Business Insider reported.
During Boebert’s speech, students began yelling “Beetlejuice!” and sang “The Imperial March” from the science-fiction film series Star Wars, the University’s student newspaper, The GW Hatchet, reported. The films’ marching tune is associated with Darth Vader, a genocidal dictator.
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) went to George Washington University (GWU) on Wednesday with a few other Republican Congresspersons to oppose the Gaza Solidarity Encampments on campus.
While there, Boebert was there to antagonize the pro-Palestinian supporters, and students rightly shouted her down with "Free Palestine" and "Beetlejuice" chants. She later threatened to defund GWU.
