Leo looked at his phone for a good second and then left it on his bed, unattended. he ran to your residence hall— it didn’t matter to him that it was quite literally on the other side of campus. he needed to hear you say the words he had been waiting to hear since he was fifteen. he’d always had a slight crush on you, mostly off and on.

But during the summer, he had fallen for you even harder than he thought he could. he never thought that he could love someone as much as he loved you. anyway, he was practically dying as he ran to your dorm! his hair was disheveled, and he was panting a bit. he wasn’t sure if he was sweaty because he was nervous, or because he had just ran to get to your dorm.

He knocked on your door three times.

You jumped out of your bed. you felt like throwing up from how nervous you were. you quickly slid on your slippers, and looked in the mirror before you opened the door for him. (making the poor boy wait). you adjusted your hair, making sure it sat right.

You took a deep breath before opening the door. you almost didn’t, but a voice in your head was telling you that you’d be an idiot if you didn’t open the door. your hands gripped the doorknob, and then unlocked it. leo was practically dying because you were taking years to open the stupid door. you finally opened it, getting met by a disheveled-sweaty-flushed leo valdez.

“Hi.” he croaked out, his voice cracking slightly. he felt like he was on fire, literally. he wanted this to be over with! well, no, that’s a lie. he just wanted to be your boyfriend already.

“…Hi.” you answered, your voice was quiet. you had an awkward smile on your face. you were praying that you would just drown at this moment. you’d much rather enjoy that than this.

He cleared his throat, and finally spoke after a long minute of awkward silence. The two looked at each other “I really… really like you. I.. Uh.. You obviously know that already, but I wanna tell you in person?” he said, nodding along with his own words. his hands went to fumble with the hem of his shirt, anxiously waiting for your response.

“I really like you, too.” You replied. you didn’t feel as nervous as anymore when he started to talk. you felt your face getting hotter, and your smile getting bigger. he grinned at you like an idiot.

He thought that he was dreaming when you said you liked him. The start of something. “Really?” He asked, just wanting to hear you say it again. He couldn’t help but grin like an idiot. He thought never in a million years that you’d ever like him! You were totally out of his league. you were so awesome, so pretty, and so sweet.

You nodded again, rolling your eyes. “Yes, really.”

Summary: You are in the early phases of your relationship with Satoru where you haven't even kissed each other yet. Taking things comfortingly and achingly slow. You go on a date with him where you share a drink together. <3 Warnings: None, it's absolutely fluffy in the most Dark Academia of ways since it has an almost poetic depiction of my love for this man lol. I have self-indulged here, so the reader is lean (Mentioning of his palm almost covering our waist); apart from that - nothing else. You hadn't spent much time with Gojo Satoru yet, however that didn't mean that the early stages of the relationship are not memorable and enticing in the least. Take today for an example, you can't wait for work to finish & go on a coffee date with him. It's barely been 10 days of you two agreeing to be in a committed relationship with each other. Your backgrounds were totally different, your brother goes to Jujutsu High and as his guardian who lives in Japan- you had met Satoru Gojo several times. He had introduced him to you as his teacher when he was 15, and now he is 18. A third year and ready to graduate. Satoru met you when you were 20, and he was 26 that time. There was always an eerie, unspoken mystery between you two. You didn't try on him though, as good looking and fluent in English as he was… something about there being no chances ever to exist caused your behaviour to carry a severe astonishing indifference towards him. Something that bewildered even Satoru always, though he was happy that there is someone who does not kiss the floor he walks on. It felt a good change, the only people who behave normally with him are his male counterparts, and women like Shoko and Utahime who know he is not to be taken so seriously at times.

Until on your brother's 18th birthday, he got him a fucking Mercedes. That was- interesting to say the least. You had talked to him here and there but your brother's birthday bash is the moment when you two started talking for real. Hobbies, what are your favourite places to visit, what irks you off, how his technique works… everything. Hell he cockily showed you his domain as well, something so beautiful you were haunted by it in your dreams.

You shake off all the thoughts in your head when one of your colleagues asked your help in something. He was a junior and often came to you with his series of questions and doubts. So far you hadn't mentored anyone really… though everything has started to remind you about Satoru Gojo. How good of a mentor he is for your sibling… Damn it, that man- you still haven't kissed for fuck's sake! Just gone on a casual movie date when he had to run off when your brother felt his CE in your house. Pft- funny… you can't wait for him to judge Satoru as a boyfriend when you finally tell him.

Oh you can't wait for your work day to end, glancing at the time, listening to songs, finishing the Knowledge Transfer session with your junior colleague. Finally, it was 5:00 PM. You aren't one of the people who leave work on the dot, but today is an exception. You left your seat at 4:50, gliding towards the washroom and doing a final touch up on your make-up, before leaving outside.

"I missed you too, Satoru." You still slur a little, and he looks down at you from his glasses, he loves how his name sounds from your voice. You've always called him Gojo san out of respect as your brother's sensei. Calling him Satoru helps break any restraints you have bounded yourself in.

Your office was near the bustling labyrinth of Tokyo city, and finding a neat and boujee coffee shop wasn't really hard for your boyfriend. You both walked in, and the barista was as mesmerised by Satoru at first glance as you were. Can't blame her, he is gut-wrenchingly beautiful after all. Sculpted by the gods.

"I'd like uh, to have?" He rips through your stray thoughts and smiles, looking down to match your height and leaning in a little closer to your face. "What'd my girl like to have?" Fucking hell you could combust! "I'd like to have a Chocolate Frappucino with an extra shot of espresso and some vanilla extract & caramel syrup please."

"Oh making a coffee mocktail are we?" Satoru grinned, and looked at the Barista who glanced expectantly at him for his order. "Oh we'd make an extra-large, and make it two straws kay?" He said is so casually though it was the cutest thing that has happened to you so far.

He held your hand and found a place for you and him, pulling your chair like a gentleman. "How was work, little one?" He muses, while you talk to him about your day, how you organized Zumba classes today for your colleagues and how your work was as hectic as ever but nothing to complain since you're not overworked.

He nods, and listens, like- really, really listens. For someone who talks a lot, Satoru was extremely observant and quiet right now.

Then, came the order, the Barista placing the tray with the coffee on the table & sliding in the two straws. "I hope you two enjoy." The venomous formality tinged with jealousy dripped out from her throat as she left. Satoru of course paid no mind… though you could observe how people looked at him. As if he was someone to attain.

You leaned in, wrapping your lips around the straw after dipping it into the coffee and took a sip. "Mm, so good." You almost moan a little at the exquisite taste. Satoru hands you the other straw, while you looked at him bewildered. His lips wrapped around 'your' straw, which had 'your' lipstick imprint and took a sip. Leaving you absolutely flustered and fazed. "So good, true… best thing I've ever tasted in 29 years." He hums with a genuine affirmation that only drives you off the edge. "Stop it, you're so dramatic!" You laughed, taking the other straw and sharing the drink.

How to make silly little things intimate - you could only hope to learn from Satoru Gojo <3 then again, you have several more dates with him to learn it after all. He was whipped and falling desolatingly fast for you.

Alright, you guys said you wanted me to write this, so here you go! Not quite sure yet how much of the movie I’ll incorporate into this, and at what point, but this has practically written itself so far. Please let me know what you think!!! 😘

Also, I’ve realized that, clearly, I have a thing for guys using pet names for their women. 🤣🤷‍♀️🔥

Won’t You Be My Neighbor?

•• Emmett x Reader ••

Part 1

(In this story, Emmett has been divorced for several years.)

Rrrumm... rrruummm... rrrrruuuummmmmmm...

As the signature sound made its way from over the fence and across the still, scorching air, Y/N was roused out of sleep as the noise traveled up and through her open bedroom window. Rolling over, she gradually came to as the noise got closer before it faded for a pass, and then became closer and louder once again.

Groaning, she rolled over once more onto her back, opening her eyes and turning her head to look over at the clock on her nightstand. 7:00 a.m. She let out an angry huff and looked up at the ceiling before shaking her head.

She couldn’t believe he was doing it again. She’d asked him a million times not to, but he never listened to her. Rolling over once more, she closed her eyes and pulled her pillow over her head, hoping that it’d somehow be enough to drown out the noise and allow her to fall back asleep. It had never done the trick before, though, and this morning was no exception. When the noise became even louder, she let out a muffled scream of frustration into her pillow before tossing it across the room and annoyedly getting out of bed. Adjusting the straps of her nightgown, she descended the stairs to the first floor and shoved her feet into her flip-flops before yanking open the back door and stomping out into the yard.

Although it was only 7:00 a.m., it was already suffocatingly hot outside, and as soon as she stepped into the backyard, a thin layer of sweat immediately glazed her forehead. Lifting her hand to her brow to shield her eyes from the sun, she looked across the fence to see him making another pass through his yard with the lawn mower. She narrowed her eyes in anger before trudging across the yard and stopping at the fence.

He was wearing that stupid, grungy baseball hat, tattered jeans, and a wife beater. He was tanned, and also already covered in sweat, his exposed skin displaying a layer of sheen. Despite how annoyed she was, when she stopped at the fence, Y/N couldn’t help but admire his muscles as they flexed with every small movement he made. She also noted how good his ass looked in those jeans, and the way his handsome face caught the sunlight and highlighted his cheekbones every time he turned. But when the lawn mower spat out a loud, angry sputter, she winced at the noise as she came back to the moment. His back was now to her, and she shouted across the fence at the top of her lungs.

“EMMETT!”

But, of course, he didn’t hear her.

“EMMETT!!!” she shouted even louder.

It was pointless. Huffing once again in frustration, she looked around for something, anything, and when her eyes landed on the recycling bin along the fence next to her, she reached in and grabbed an empty plastic soda bottle from inside. Closing one eye to focus her aim, she stuck her tongue out the side of her mouth in concentration as she lifted her arm and chucked the bottle across the yard at him.

“HEY!” she shouted as it flew out of her hand.

She smirked in triumph as it successfully collided with the back of his head, and the noise from the lawn mower came to a welcomed stop as he let go of the handlebar and turned around.

“What the fu—” he began, but stopped as he finished turning around and saw her standing behind her side of the fence, glaring at him.

“Christ,” he muttered to himself under his breath, trying to prepare himself to deal with her, but also admittedly impressed with her aim. As their eyes met, she put her hands on her hips and gave an exasperated shake of her head.

“Seriously?!” she called from across the yard.

Abandoning the mower and picking up the empty bottle, Emmett walked across the lawn to the fence, taking his time and finally coming to a stop in front of her. He briefly removed his hat and lifted his arm to wipe the sweat from his forehead before replacing the hat and looking at her again.

“Problem?” he said to her.

“Seriously?” she said again.

“It’s not very neighborly to throw trash at people,” Emmett responded. He leaned over the fence and dropped the bottle back in her recycling bin.

“And it’s also not very neighborly to wake people up at 7:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning when they’re trying to sleep in,” she replied as she continued to glare at him.

“We can’t all sleep in and lounge around all day,” he said. “Some of us have shit to do.”

“I’ve asked you a million times to wait until later in the day to mow the lawn,” she responded. “I’m not asking for a lot – just until, like, 9 or 10 a.m.”

“Must be nice to have all that free time,” he replied sarcastically.

She narrowed her eyes at him.

“Screw you! You know that’s not true! I work early shifts and long hours. The weekends are my one chance for some extra sleep.”

“We all work hard, princess,” he responded back to her. “You don’t see the other neighbors complaining.”

In that moment, she wished looks could kill, because she knew that the face she made at him was a deadly one. She crossed her arms defensively.

“I still don’t even understand how you get away with it with everyone else. Who the hell mows the lawn at 7:00 a.m. and doesn’t have every person in the neighborhood petitioning for some sort of fine or something?!”

“Because everyone else likes me,” Emmett responded. “You’re the odd one out. And if this is the way you treat all the neighbors, I can see why there’s no one on your side.”

“I’m a nice person, you asshole! Ask everybody around here; ask your boys. You’re the un-neighborly one!”

“Lucky for them, I don’t believe the boys have ever seen this side of you. But I know the truth.”

Y/N glared at him again, but Emmett was quickly distracted as she uncrossed her arms to shoo away a fly that buzzed by. His gaze lowered to her chest, and he could make out her nipples and the curves of her full breasts beneath the thin white nightgown she was wearing. She was clearly oblivious to what she was putting on display, but Emmett found it almost impossible to drag his eyes away. When he did, he was just met with another distraction as she lifted her head in annoyance and the sun highlighted her pretty face. Unconsciously, he licked his own lips as his eyes landed on her pouty full ones, but he was brought out of his trance when she lowered her head to look at him again.

“Look, I’m just asking for a little understanding here,” she spoke once more. “Can’t you wait just one more hour at least?”

Emmett shook his head.

“I told you, I’ve got shit to do.”

“If you’ve got so much to do, you can’t tell me there’s not a single thing that you couldn’t do first before mowing the lawn.”

“Sorry, princess; I’ve got an order I like to do things in,” he replied matter of factly. The truth was, she was right; there were plenty of other things he could do first. But after all this, he just wanted to push her buttons.

“You’re impossible!” she cried, throwing her arms up in the air. She then turned on her heel and began to head back inside her house. “Enjoy your yardwork,” she said sarcastically over her shoulder. “I hope you get heatstroke out here!”

“Have a nice day, neighbor!” Emmett called back tauntingly in response.

As she entered her house and slammed the door behind her, he looked after her for just a moment before shaking his head and turning to walk back to the mower. He then pushed it to the end of the yard nearest to her house, where they’d just been standing, before starting it up again. Taking his sweet time, he went back and forth along the area a few more passes than necessary and pausing several moments each time, being sure to let the noise travel up to her open bedroom window.

"I'm gonna run to the bathroom," you told Flo, putting your napkin on the table to save it. "Don't miss me too much." He rolled his eyes at you, making you smile as you walked away.

While turning to face forward, you walked straight into a chest, sending you falling back on your ass with a humpf, it was embarrassing to say the least.

"Oh, I'm so sorry," said a voice, hopefully attached to the hand that was being waved in front of your face to help you up. You took the hand that was held out to you, wanting to roll your eyes at it, but the roll stopped the second you made eye contact with the face attached to it. He was probably the most handsome man you had ever seen.

"Uh," you froze, unsure of what to say to him. He smiled back at you, which didn't help the buzzing in your head or the heat you felt on your face.

"I really should check my surroundings more." His eyes crinkled in a laugh that you reciprocated, something about him made you want to follow his lead. That thought was enough to shake you out of your cloud.

"No, uh..." you paused, looking back at Flo for a quick second. "It was really my fault, I wasn't looking ahead."

His eyes followed your gaze before returning to you, smile just as wide. "Charles." He then shook your hand which he was still holding, that caused a new wave of heat to rise up your face.

"YN," you answered, shaking his hand back and then letting go. Why did you feel heavier now that you weren't touching?

"What brings you to Monaco?" His accent was intoxicating, you could listen to him talk for hours about nothing.

"My friend plays for the soccer team here, so I'm visiting."

"Ah," he nods, smile still on his beautiful face. "So you're American?"

You nod this time, eyes still following his every micro-expression. Seriously, how could someone be this beautiful?

"Charles! Vai!" a new voice called, taking his attention away from you. Both of you frowned, but life goes on.

"I must go, it was lovely meeting you YN." With one last smile he walks away, leaving you alone.
