Helluva Rewrite: Loona

Okay, first things first, the redesign:

Design notes: I wanted her fur to look like moon craters. Initially her eyes were blue, but then I was struck with the idea of having the color of hellhounds eyes and certain characteristics of their bodies reflect what ring they are from. I did a version from Wrath, but I liked the idea of Luna being from Sloth, so I conceded that she’s a sloth/wrath mix breed. I wanted hellhounds to be from all rings (so are imps) so there are variations. I think sloth and wrath fit her best, so she has the slim and small build of a sloth hound but the horns, fangs, and claws of a wrath hound. Also she's from Sloth bc Viv's sloth is pink and that's my fav color lmao.

She’s essentially the same in this as she is in the show, minus the abuse, cruelty, and general bitchiness of her character. She is incredibly lazy, often just laying around and never really doing the job Blitzo assigned her. She is also extremely introverted, and social situations cause her stress, which lead to her wrath side making her lash out. She genuinely wants to make friends and be nice to others, but the effort is too great and the stress upsets her. Generally, she is very lonely, she wants to be friends with the IMP team but can’t figure out how. 

Now, some relationship stuff:

Blitzo: She is extremely wary of Blitzo in this. This will be because she has only known him for close to a year (9 or 10 months) as he adopted her very soon (I did this so she would be an actual teenager and not a 20-year-old woman acting like a thirteen-year-old). Blitzo adores her and desperately wants her to love him unconditionally, but she’s put off by his affection and continues to keep him at arms length. She likes the idea of being loved so purely, but he’s just too much most of the time. 

Moxxie: She picks on Moxxie (much less cruel in the rewrite) because he’s the smallest and weakest imp she knows and where she grew up the weak get eaten. Surprisingly, she is also the most comfortable around Moxxie because of his lack of strength. She isn’t threatened by him at all, and has occasionally made jokes with him that weren’t at his expense. Other than that, she finds him mildly annoying most times. 

Millie: She likes Millie the most if she had to pick. Millie is genuinely kind and likes to ask Loona about her day and treats her like just another person. Still, Loona doesn’t trust it because there’s always some trick and Millie could easily kill her if she wanted (which will add drama during the DHORKS episode). Loona makes an effort to talk to Millie more than anyone (Blitzo aside because they live together) and they mostly only relate on anything concerning violence. 

AAAAAnd that's all i wanna do today had some really awful things happen recently so i mostly did this to keep my mind off it.

as a woman with type 2 hair, i’d like to give some few hc of eddie with curly/wavy haired gf (and yes, this is for any types of my curly haired babies<3)

- he’d make sure to own silky pillows and hair bonnets for you when you stay over night. and he will get them all in pink because it’s your favorite color

- doing research on what products are best for your hair, the do’s and don’ts bc he wants be a good bf in terms of helping his girl maintaining her pretty hair.

- tons of ñ peppermint oil, leave in conditioner, a used t-shirt and hair serum in his drawer just in case you need a wash at his place— he finds out from a fellow that cotton hair towel is a big no no for curly hair—.

-wash day equals movie marathon! because yes, your hair does take waaay too long to dry. and he’d hide the hair dryer as an excuse to spend more time with you

“babe? have you seen my-“

“hair dryer? nope. no. negative! never even heard of it. so, blue lagoon or friday the 13th?”

- going out of his way to buy non-chemical shampoo and a diffuser just for you, because he loves how your hair turn out when you use it. he’s seen you done it before and damn straight he’s got a hard on after seeing it.

- double checking all the hair ties to make sure they don’t have metal in them and don’t create a dent on your hair

- he would yell out a ‘yes’ and be so excited when you asked him to do the routine for you instead , guiding him step by step as his fingers thread lightly into your hair

- you also teach him how to revive his own curls, because this mf hair is frizzy due to him being way too lazy for taking care of it. and you know he has beautiful hair so why waste it?

- playing and twirling with your hair as you lay in between his legs, head on his chest while watching ‘the evil dead’. he’d drop compliments here and there about it,

“i wish i had your hair, princess. it’s so soft and silky and so… pretty” he breathes out, eyeing the delicate curls looping his fingers

- i don’t know about you guys but he’d be so scared if you ever thought about dying your hair. all this because he read somewhere that curls are extremely fragile (which is not entirely inaccurate). meaning that one simple mistake could basically ruin your hair. so yeah, he’s against you coloring it

“eds… my hair will be fine! I’m just changing it to lighter brown, nothing too extreme”

“nuh uh nope, not taking any chances! what if you’ve completely lost the pattern? become frizzy? what am i supposed to do if you didn’t have your curls anymore?!”

- overall, that man would worship your hair. he’d sit still, hands under his chin and just looking so in love at his gorgeous girl, who’s scrunching your hair up with head tilting slightly as a part of the routine . day or night, he’d watch you through and through.

10 Anti LO Asks

1. Are death gods like a class lower than Olympian gods? Minthe says that Hades can buy all the suits in the world and still stink of death and Apollo refers to Thanatos as Poor Man’s Heremes and also reeks of death. Do they smell bad, or do people just hate them for existing? You’d think they’d be a little more fear controlling death/underworld

2. for the person saying "come on, persephone being a self insert isn't bad" completely misses the point.  As a young writer I used to have self inserts until I realized that my favoritism overshadowed the narrative and didn't allow for my characters to experience consequences or be in the wrong.  This is how creator's pets get made, and no one likes those because they ruin the story and take away attention from other (more interesting) characters!  (1/2) 

We are clearly seeing this in LO.  Persephone is essentially a perfect little goddess who keeps getting powers, is probably going to be revealed as one of the strongest goddesses, and her issues (sans the two giant ones we know what it is) almost never personally affect her.  No one gets angry at her in a meaningful way unless the narrative wants us to demonize them, and when they suddenly "see the light" and go to her side, they're rewarded!  THAT'S why persephone as a S.I is bad

3. Ok. I think Daphene and Thanatos are the best ship. I would read this story...also,Thanatos is the grim reaper...how metal would be if he take down LO Apollo and LO Hades? Yes, I'm aware this would be impossible in the.original myths but HEY why not? RS is not caring for the source material

4. RS’s writing is such a mess of contradictions between actuality and intent it’s hilarious: 1) Hades is supposed to be seen as a good guy yet is portrayed as a tyrant who somehow still manages to be a Gary Stu. 2) Persephone is simultaneously overpowered (fertility goddess powers) and powerless (is just a college kid) to the point where she’s viewed as a spoiled rich brat living consequence-free and destitute young woman left with no options but to marry to get out of trouble 

3) Artemis is supposed to represent a separatist feminist yet is depicted as foolish, British and out of the loop for humorous effect by the poss poor excuse of a comic which calls itself ‘a feminist feeling’. 4) The lack of time skips coupled with RS’s need to give HxP as many ‘cute’ moments as possible makes the comic’s progress feel slow for the reader when it’s actually progressing at breakneck speed if you go by the character’s timeframe. 

5) Wants to treat SA with nuance and sensitivity (RS almost manages to do it at first) but then uses Persephone’s rape as trauma porn, a means for pushing her closer to Hades while reminding the reader of his differences from Apollo and a means of furthering the side plots (Artemis’s descent into depressed confusion, Eros and Psyche’s romance, Hera’s quest to get the mains together).

5. i genuinely do not want to see whatever reason rachel thinks up to have zeus and demeter not like each other because it's either going to be a "shock" incest twist (unlikely) or it's going to be something akin to how she made apollo to persephone and maybe zeus stole her "fertility" and thats why she couldnt have persephone naturally and why demeter isnt a fertility goddess but persephone is. like no writing choice is good in this so i guess brace for the worst from her in this regard.

6. i honestly get sad looking at old LO art because not only is all the charm gone, but the colors also got way worse. hades used to be this subdued, rich dark blue with icy blue hair while persephone was a nice shade of pastel pink with magenta hair, but now theyre all one shade of neon. there used to be choices put into the art but now its just lazy. like hades looks like a blue highlighter, and persephone like her personality is only one nauseatingly bright shade and thats it 😞

7. i feel like if at least the writing in LO was good the art would excusable, you know what i mean? and the same can be said in reverse, but both are just so bad (or was never good to begin with) that it just seems inexcusable? like at least put effort into one, not half assing at best for both.

8. i mean for all we know bc thats how how psyche normally looks the braids are just a nymph disguise that basically pops away once shes human looking again. regardless the whole thing is nasty once you think about it and idk what we expected from a white woman to begin with. she thinks persephone revolving her whole world and being dependent on hades is feminist and making a canon bi god a r//pist is groundbreaking too like ....

9. lets add to the psyche is black-coded discourse: anyone want to mention how nasty it is she was literally sold off to a WHITE MAN for eros to save her from (ignoring the fact he proceeded to lie to her while having a sexual relationship), made her loving parents into abusive assholes, and psyche just happens to be the only character who is illiterate despite being a princess? the whole thing reeks of internalized racism on rachel's part, and her now giving her braids kinda makes it worse, tbh.

10. Is it me? Or in the fast past episode were they showed one of the muses Polymnia (or Polyhymnia)  they mixed her with Clio??? Because Zeus calls her "the goddess/muse of history" but Polymnia is acutally the muse of hymns, CLIO is the muse of history, how did they get that wrong? Her name literally means "a lot of hymns"! And why is there a muse in this??? Even she says that she shouldn't be there because she doesn't work in anything similar to law, did Zeus really asked her to make a POEM in a TRAIAL??? For what exactly? Make Persephone look bad?

I rarely keep my psds or keep record of my process but luckily I saved the ones for these edits. Depending on how lazy I am it takes me between 2 hours and a week to finish a full set.

I don’t exactly remember each step but here are layer by layer breakdowns of the final product of the first gif i made for each set. Explanation down below

I chose not to question the difference in quality between these two btw.

Planning i rarely plan tbh i just go with where the editing takes me with the first gif. bc once i have the first gif down it’s just a matter of making the others match to have a cohesive set.

Choosing the clips to gif + lyrics

Since these two gifsets are song based it was relatively easy to choose the clips because I’ve identified specific shots before that would fit a certain lyric.

For Miss You I used clips from the mv, the royal variety performance  and the x factor performance. + maybe i miss you

For Defenceless I used clips from wmi mv, miss you mv and walls mv. + 1st verse.

Making the gifs

I don’t want to turn this into a giffing tutorial rip, but i basically follow a very basic gifmaking routine and use 2 actions for loading and sharpening. (most of the giffing guides i based mine on can be found here.

But it goes: loading > cropping > sharpening > base colouring.

For refence, I either use PS CS5 or PS CS6. For Miss You: 540x300 px | For Defenceless: 540x400px Sharpening settings: smart sharpen twice (500/0.4 + 10/10) + gaussian blur (blending 30% opacity)

The base colouring is mostly there to brighten and colour correct the gif. For that I mainly use curves, levels, colour balance, selective color and vibrance.

For particularly dark shots I use a trick I learned from @stardustony using white color fills and b&w gradient map.

Colouring-Colouring This is where the fun begins.

Sometimes before even beginning I have a dominant and accent colour in mind, but more often than not the final result is very different from the first round lmao. I use multiple layers of selective colours to get everything to match and get what I want + different blending modes. For Miss You i knew I wanted blue and red/orange, so it was a matter of bringing out the cyans and reds of the scenes without making it too grainy. For Defenceless, the colour choices were based on the colours Nyx associated with the song, in this case pastels, blue, pink and yellow/beige. + Additional step for this gif because it was an experiment: i added an empty layer at some point, painted on it with big brushes of blue and peach, then set it to substract to get that rainbow-ish effect on the water.

Adding text

I choose the fonts:

For Miss You --> Gobold Bold (regular) 18pt/36pt

For Defenceless --> Kiona 7pt, Boiling Demo 18pt, Amalia 36pt

Then I add inner + outer shadows to the text.

Then for colours I usually just add two layers with random colour gradients as clipping marks on each text box OR change the font colour and play around with blending modes

Then placement, depends on the vibes lbr

The boxes

Shape > Rectangle Tool (make the box, choose size, stroke, fill) For Miss You : we have a dashed box thingie going on + the b&w/colour separation For Defenceless: the box lines are lyrics hehe, i actually forgot how to do it, but it involves making the text follow the path of the lines of the box using the direction selection tool.

Exporting

Save for Web (Alt + Ctrl + Shift + S) Selective or Adaptative, Pattern, Bicubic

Drafting

To check if the gifs are cohesive, arrange placements and check if the colouring is ok on different devices. I also send the links to friends to see if it’s ok.To add caption (html + edit fiddle)

To add tags: generic tags for louis edits + user tags + tag i use for my edits (usually louis tomlinson, louisupdates, tracksintheam, belletracks, *mine)

It’s also a hack to avoid no showing up in the tags.

Posting

I either let the gifset rot for weeks before I post it, or post it right away because I can. Some people schedule for specific hours for maximum engagement. I only schedule self-reblogs for after posting, 12 hours after, then 9pm my time, then 3am.

psst share your outer banks coloring secrets

ah, yes, one of the worst shows to color lmaoooo. i'll try to give some tips but im sure as anyone who has tried to color this show knows each scene is diff and has it's own flavor of awful yellow/green/red shading.

some tips on how to go from this to this......

............under the cut! (warning v long and idk if i'm the best at explaining things lmao)

so firstly, i use this psd i made ages ago for everything (alecbaenes was my url many moons ago i just am too lazy to change and reupload). usually i will go into each individual layer of that psd and see how they work with the scene, and will change the opacity or turn off the layer depending on what looks best. generally for obx, i will lower the opacity on the gradient map layer, as well as certain vibrancy/curves/levels layers, ones that make the gif brighter and more vibrant. i will usually bring back some vibrancy and brightness later but when im first getting the base coloring, some layers just heighten the yellow/red and we need to kinda bring that down before we make adjustments to get aspects like skin color more accurate.

so, just with my psd/adjustments made to the psd layers, the gif may looks something like this: (going to use this gif bc i made it more recently so i remember some of the stuff i did better, and is the most accurate to my current process--plus it sucks to color lmao)

ususally still way to red/yellow for my liking, both for the skin tones and to be able to manipulate the colors for a vibrant coloring! so the next step is to get colors as close to how they are normally. warning, you will have to make 345435354 adjustment layers and just keep tweaking and tweaking... and tweaking. sometimes i will have like 20+ adjustment layers at the end of the process. i usually put all my adjustments under my psd--i also always add a vibrance and brightness layer above. sometimes it helps to do final tweaks above the psd if you just cant get anything right bc of course the psd will change how colors normally look.

anyways, usually my base fixes will be some sort of combination of curves, levels, color balance, and selective color. so like, if the gif needs more depth/darkness, or is way too bright, i will bring the curve down or up respectively. levels, and also increasing the black selective color layer will also add depth. i will also use auto curve sometimes! the first image i have below i circled some of the extra tools i may use--auto for auto curves, the top black eyedropper you select the darker points in your gif and it will adjust based on that, the bottom one for the lightest--if i use those i will either use the black one only, or the black and then the white. the other three are examples of how my curve layers may look--i already have S curves in my psd, so when i do extra curve adjustments, it's just one single point, and i don't move it that much. same with levels, i dont make a super dramatic change, when it's under the psd it's enough to just move a bit to make a big difference. sometimes i'll also bring these layers to a lower opacity.

generally my first step is color balance though, especially if the gif seems mostly fine lighting wise. for obx, i usually shift it towards cyan and blue to cancel out the red tones. magenta and green depends, if its more green i may move towards magenta and vice versa, but usually i dont shift it that dramatically and often leave it alone. i will usually move the bottom bar towards blue, to soften the yellow tones. color balance helps shift the overall colors of the gif. notice that it's on mid tones in these pictures:

as you can see, i shift the cyan/red one more dramatically than the yellow/blue, and with magenta and green i usually just move it 1-3 points over. in the last one, i actually shifted towards red above my psd layer, because after all my adjustments i lost some of the red/warmth, so i brought back in red.

with color balance/curves, the gif may looks something like this

less of a completely red/yellow filter over everything! but still not great, their skin is too red, and overall still not the best base to try colorings. so next up is selective color, which can really help you fine tune things, but because of that.... SUUUUPER tedious. i will have 3495874 selective color layers and sometimes like 5 of them will be half canceling each other out just to get something okay. but this is a hobby i've chosen so we must suffer LKRGJRG. generally, my realm revolves around red, yellow, and at times magenta or neutral. if you think back to how we fixed some of the colors with color balance, kind of a similar principle, just with the individual colors. and lots of experimenting. so with color balance i would cancel out reds by making them more cyan--on the red selective color, im also gonna turn up the cyan. for yellow, i'm gonna make it more magenta, to make the yellow tones warmer. i will tweak the other tones too, just kinda experiment to see how changing it affects the gif, and then soon you will kind of intuitively know how to change the values based on whats going on in the gif lighting. magenta selective color helps for red values that are more pink, so make them more red or yellow based on what you need--i don't use this as much, hence i didnt have an example in the crop of psds i opened, but it's helpful sometimes. with neutral selective color, it usually affects the whole gif, so again, only minimal changes--usually i will bring the black levels down if it got to bright, or add just a tinge or yellow or cyan or whatever i need. here's some pics to show examples of what mine looked like for this gif:

there were many more, but i just chose a few. the '1' and '2' i wrote to demonstrate that these layers were sequential, how they balance each other, and how selective color can be a tedious balancing act-- the second example it's like basically the opposite but it balances it out. also, if you have two characters with different skin tones, or the lighting is different for them, etc, you can use layer masks to erase certain adjustments so it only affects one of the subjects. some of these tweaks will be inbetween me transforming the gif to be colorful, and noticing how the colors interact, etc. so between this i was also making it colorful and it's not exactly the finished product at this stage: but this is kind of what the gif would look like after all the adjustments just to get it looking... normalish:

not totally perfect but MUCH better, and also will look a little different when surrounded by the colors i want to turn it into. i have some stuff about how i color in this tag, i can do a lil other tutorial or smth if needed but bc i have limited photo space on the ask and already wrote so much i wont get super into it here. but for shows like obx, it helps to work with a group of colors that will work with the show--yellows/oranges are easier bc of all the yellow already found in the show. pinks can be harder because there is so much yellow in the show, but doable. greens are good because of all the green in the show, and thus blues are good because its easy to go from green to blue with selective color and stuff. thus, purples are good too because its easy to go from blue to purple! stuff like that makes it easier. some work with selective color, hue and saturation, gradients, and voila!

you can see how maybe some of the issues like it being still a little too yellow/greeny toned balances out with the surrounding colors.

also, a big part of it is just practice! i've been giffing for yeaaaaaars and with media that has just the most god awful lighting so i've gotten good at understanding what to do and sometimes i'm just on auto pilot.

hopefully that helped, i know it was long winded and it can be hard to explain/understand photoshop. if y'all want some more in depth explanation about a part of the process i can try, or with other examples!

hi i wrote merrikat. based on paper rings. it’s pretty cute i’m pretty happy w it. esp bc it’s the first thing i’ve managed to start and complete in uhhhh over a month : ) sooooo yeah

Jack didn’t know love could feel like this. So loud and quiet all at the same time. So careful and turbulent and everything in between. He considers how something like that can be as he takes a sip from the wine he had found waiting for him on the kitchen island (accompanied by a sticky note with Zack’s messy handwriting telling him for you :) sorry about the long day xx). He lets his head rest against his palm as he leans against the counter, a small tired smile pulling across his cheeks as he catches the cologne on the sleeve of the hoodie he’d found waiting for him on the bed after changing into something comfier. (Another sticky note with a lopsided smiley face had been sitting on top of the soft, worn hoodie.)

There had been a third sticky note (this one with just a heart drawn in the center of it) on the box of takeout waiting for Jack in the fridge after he had come downstairs from the office after a long afternoon of livestream interviews with Alex. He always felt a lot of something in the direction of guilt when there was work to be done on his visits out to see Zack despite the teasing remarks he would receive reminding him that we are literally coworkers, Jack.

But now it doesn’t matter because the day is done. Any kind of negative feeling Jack had felt prior to coming down to the kitchen dissipated the second he saw the glass of wine and Zack’s patient face looking down at whatever book he had picked up to read next. From Jack’s spot at the island he can see his boy settled into the couch on the back deck that sits just in front of the big window in the kitchen.

Another paradox from the seemingly endless list of them comes to mind then as he watches the sun slip toward the horizon, the sky a swirling mix of oranges and pinks. He feels like he’s loved the man sitting on the other side of the window for both 20 minutes and 20 years and again, he wonders how that can be.

He’d loved Zack since they were teenagers and yet the relationship they had now had somehow still snuck up on them both. Drunken cuddles at parties turned into sober cuddles before soundcheck. Giggling kisses against cheeks while they ran around on stage in the middle of a show turned into Jack in Zack’s lap while making out on the tour bus couch. (Jack laughs to himself at the memory of Alex rolling his eyes while Rian was cracking up as he accepted a $20 bill after they’d wandered into the back lounge that night. Jack and Zack had only blinked in confusion at each other as they heard Alex grumbling that you guys just had to figure your shit out on a Tuesday, huh? as he went off in the direction of his bunk.)

It wasn’t how Jack was used to a relationship happening. It had felt so easy. He didn’t know it could be this easy. When he tried questioning it early on, Alex had only laughed. You’re best friends, what did you expect? Nothing ever felt complicated with Zack. Jack found himself thinking it was something he could get used to, something he wanted to get used to.

Three years in and they’re something in the realm of settled down despite the nature of their career never really leaving them in one place for too long. It had been Zack’s idea for them to spend the couple of weeks off on this tour at his place before catching a flight back to LA for more rehearsals. Time felt like it moved slower on the island (though if Jack’s being honest, anywhere moves slower than LA) and it was something he was thankful for. Every moment with Zack was something to be savored.

He picks up his glass and heads in the direction of the back door. After shutting the door behind him, he turns back to see Zack marking his place in his book with a receipt before dropping it against the coffee table sitting in front of him. Jack takes the spot beside him and smiles into the kiss he’s pulled into before settling against the cushions. With his free hand, he traces along the tattoos around Zack’s shoulder in the fading sunlight. “How was your afternoon?” Jack asks, finally breaking the comfortable silence, as his fingers trail down Zack’s arm to tangle their fingers together.

Zack smiles down at their joined hands before lifting them to press his lips against Jack’s knuckles. “Productive,” he hums with a smile. “Rearranged some stuff in the garage, went to the store. Found this plant while I was there that looked like it needed some love. I’ll show you in the morning, the flowers are a pretty color.”

Jack smiles brightly. Regardless of how long he comes out to visit, they settle so quickly into domesticity. It’s overwhelming, he thinks, but not in a way that scares him. It’s always felt easy to fall into a routine with Zack.

“Looking forward to it.”

Zack asks him about his day and Jack recalls on the afternoon of answering the same four questions over and over again for different radio stations all across the country and the way he basically had Alex’s answers to them memorized by the end of the day. He tells him about the story one of the interviewers told them about their first All Time Low show (Zack had thrown them a pick in 2010 and they apparently still had it inside a box of concert memories from over the years) and the cat that had wandered into the frame on one of the calls.

Eventually they settle back into another comfortable, lazy quiet. Their joined hands sit against Zack’s thigh, his thumb tracing circles in Jack’s palm, as they watch the sun take its time saying its daily goodbye to the world. A light breeze picks up, just enough to keep them cool. Jack takes a deep breath and despite the fact that his entire adult life has been spent quite literally living out his wildest dreams every damn day, if he was asked to stay stuck in one moment forever, it would be this one.

“I wish everyday could end like this,” Jack sighs as his head falls to rest against Zack’s shoulder after taking another sip from his glass. “This is really nice.”

“Yeah, I don’t think I would mind if forever had this view,” Zack answers. Jack assumes he’s referring to the last bit of sunset playing out before them over the mountains but then he feels a pair of lips press against his hair and he looks up to meet Zack’s tired eyes looking down fondly.

“Forever is a big word, mister,” Jack jokes with a blush, his eyes blinking up at Zack’s. Though he hopes it doesn’t come out as though he’s disagreeing.

“You’re right,” Zack laughs while tossing an arm around Jack’s shoulders to pull him closer to his side. His eyes pull away from Jack’s to look back out at the sky and they’re both silent, their breathing and the buzz of the approaching dusk becoming their evening soundtrack.

Jack lets his eyes fall shut, the calmness surrounding them making him sleepier than he felt before coming out to join his boy. He’s seconds away from the short sleep that Zack will allow him before dragging them both back inside to watch one of those documentaries they’ve been watching after dinner for the last few weeks.

“Marry me?”

Jack’s eyes shoot open as he turns his head up to face Zack whose eyes are still trained on the pink-purple sky rapidly shifting to a dark blue. “What?”

He shifts to sit up and Zack turns to face him then while the last bit of light adds a sparkle to his eyes. He smiles lazily as he lifts a hand to cup Jack’s cheek. Jack barely notices the way he instinctively leans into his gentle touch. “I want every sunset with you,” Zack whispers into the space between them. “I want every sunrise with you, even if it’s just you whining over how early it is.” Jack softly laughs as his mind briefly drifts to thoughts of clingy, early mornings before speeding back to the present.

“I want forever with you. Longer than forever, really. But I’m not sure that’s real.”

Jack laughs again while his vision blurs and lets Zack wipe away the single tear he feels starting to fall down his cheek. “Who cares if it’s real? That was so fucking romantic, you sap.”

“Are you going to give me an answer or do I have to wait until I get a ring for that?”

“Zack, babe, you could propose with one of your sticky notes and I’d say yes every damn time. Of course I’ll marry you.”

Zack pulls him in by the waist to press their lips together. As his eyes flutter shut, Jack feels another tear roll down cheek and when he pulls away several moments later, he can’t help but laugh at the watery eyes looking back at him as well.

“That could be arranged, though,” Zack says suddenly before quickly leaning across to kiss Jack’s forehead before pushing up from the couch and slipping inside. Jack is left with a confused smile pulling at his lips as he’s not entirely sure what Zack could mean by that.

Only a couple minutes pass before Zack returns, a folded sticky note and a roll of tape in his hands. He takes his spot back on the couch and looks up to meet Jack’s eyes, his blush just barely visible in the twilight.

“Okay, give me your hand,” Zack instructs. Jack starts catching on then what he’s doing and laughs as he lifts his left hand up in between them. Zack’s bottom lip gets caught between his teeth as he delicately wraps the bright pink paper around Jack’s ring finger and secures the loop with a small piece of tape.

“There,” Zack smiles, admiring his work before looking up to meet Jack’s eyes. “Perfect.”

“You really are,” Jack mumbles as he gently shakes his head at the man in front of him.

Zack laughs, the blush still painting his cheeks as he rolls his eyes. “Okay, Mr Cheesy. This will work until we can get you something shiny.”

“I don’t need shiny, Zack. I promise.” Jack replies.

“If we show up back in Baltimore to celebrate with everyone about this and you have a sticky note wrapped around your finger, both of our mothers and Alex will kill me,” Zack counters.

“Alright, you’re probably right,” Jack shrugs. “But just for the record, this is fucking adorable regardless.”

“I’m glad you think so,” Zack smiles as he moves to link their fingers together again before standing. “Should we go Facetime the boys and the fam to tell them?”

“Of course,” Jack nods as he lets himself get led back into the house. “Do you think they bet on this too?”

“Oh, I’m sure they did,” Zack replies as he reaches for Jack’s glass and a second one from the shelf for himself before opening the fridge to find the bottle of wine. “I’m sure Alex is going to lose again, too. Rian is too good at this kind of thing. Let me go grab my phone.”

Jack takes a seat at the counter and watches Zack jog up the stairs. He smiles down at the paper wrapped around his finger and sighs. His mind wanders around what forever will look like, what it’ll feel like with a big party and vows and an added weight on his left hand. As Zack reenters the room, the brightest smile pulling at his lips as Jack hears a shy voice excitedly stumbling through an introduction to their best friends followed by so we have some news, all he can think about is how he can’t wait to get used to this too.

Maria’s Wardrobe

Now I know a lot of people like to paint her as someone that’s only into black and red and drab and all that but i’m here to tell you that is not only cliche, but boring. María was born, rasied, and bitten in Mexico okay? She appreciates some color alright? Just wanted to set the record straight. Colors have been all around her since the day she was born, there’s no way she’d just stick to one. Not when she’s making or buying her clothes. Even in the movies she’s seen wearing very light/frilly clothing.

Girls got style, a cute one that alters sometimes. I see her as wearing a lot of off-shoulder tops, strapless/sleeveless tops, bustiers, tanks, crop tops, and such that come in a variety of colors. I see her really liking floral prints and embroidery. She also looks really adorable in stripes and polka-dots though she doesn’t wear those patterns much? This is a weird thing for her but she also adores clothes with cute little food designs but never wears them lol. She just thinks they’re neat. Some of her favorite colors to wear are pink, yellow (bc it really brings out her skin), purple, green, white and red (pairs well with her brunette hair.)

She likes less layers/restricting clothes because she’s kind of very active (and a fighter lol) so she doesn’t really want her clothes to be too tight or too long. but on days where she isn’t doing much she might be more open to longer clothes, like the long skirt we see her wearing in the movies; but that was in the 1800’s so her choice of long clothes have definitely changed since then lol. Same goes for tighter clothes. Although she usually wears them when she’s getting dressed up, on some lazy days she might wear a tighter fitting outfit just cause lol.

She may be active and doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty but she also really likes to look cute. So (and I’m totes projecting here) she really likes wearing short shorts the most, and capri’s second, a lot of her jeans are like rolled or cuffed at the end and they vary in size from like a fat cuff or a skinny cuff. She likes to get really creative so sometimes she’ll cut up her jeans and make them into even more shorts, and paint cute designs or add cute accessories onto them. Her favorite being daisies. Her favorite pair of shorts at the moment are a dark wash blue jean with a cute white lace at the trim/hem and on the pockets. She loves pairing it with a white crop top and her dark wash jean jacket.

She likes jackets, sweaters, cardigans and such but they usually are very light. The only time she really wears heavy outerwear is when the weather is bad and she doesn’t want to look weird by not being appropriately dressed. But it’s cute bc she pairs it with adorable scarfs and beanies and boots. Her tops tend to have a bit of a lower cut in the front which shows a little cleavage but thats okay. Sometimes she covers using one of her cardigans.

Her usual outfit is a very light cardigan, with some sort of tank top or sleeveless top underneath, a pair of shorts, capris or jeans, and either flats or like keds or something. She doesn’t have a lot of heels but she does own a few cute pairs in mostly base colors for her more flashy clothes. Her heels also tend to be more chunky because she walks better in those than others, she owns a cute pair of wedges with white straps because they always go so well with her sundresses. She tends to like platformed shoes as well bc they give her some height.

This post is more so based on her modern clothing bc I already kinda wrote another post about how she wears her more traditional clothing, which she usually makes herself using old techniques (here). Her tehuana’s are always to die for.

- akeno “KEITH” shirogane: (age: 19) [gay] hes japanese/black/galran. hes still half galra in this reboot bc i fuck with that honestly but hes got more visible galran traits. his bottom canines are larger than usual and poke out from his bottom lip so he wears a mask to cover his mouth and his eyes r still purple but instead of his sclera being yellow(tinted), hes just like. got some odd golden flecks in his eyes. he normally wears a dirty mechanics jumpsuit with the top half tied around his waist and a black or white tank top underneath (hes still a high school flunk out so he works full time at a car repair shop so hes able to buy food and shit at LEAST + hes still got his motorcycle to keep in shape). his casual clothes r just regular grey sweats, hoodies, and adidas or whatever brand is closest in their future lol. hes blood related to shiro who ill get to in a second.. shiros blood related to him as his uncle (brother of keiths dad) ALSO his hair isnt long in this reboot, hes got a short messy head of hair that he mostly just pulls back into a TINY little pony tail on his forehead (like in the game show ep) so it doesnt get in his face while hes working. he also has goggles bc thats the one thing from yalls reboot ideas i actually like (endgame lion: he momentarily pilots black during shiros disappearance but his permanent and stationary lion is red)

- fal’allura “fala, ALLURA” naguna’ephy: [lesbian] (age: 21 or close to that in alien standards) shes altean on her fathers side and teem (what we’re gonna call nymas race) on her mothers side. she bares more altean features except her eyes are solid yellow and shes only got four fingers on each hand. instead of crescent shaped facial markings, she has painted on red and golden lines across her nose and her upper lip. her hair (very dark purple with silver highlights and literal glowing, twinkling stars) is VERY long, brushing the floor as she walks except and (now bear with me cuz this might be hard to explain) her hair, the farther down u look kind of fades away? like it becomes semi to absolute transparent… idk how else to explain it but i hope u understand…. she does wear a crown but its more like a headdress.. (imagine beyonces headdress).. she doesnt wear it often, usually only on diplomatic missions to greet other worldly rulers bc its heavy and it makes her neck hurt :/.. her dress! looks like this! but a little more spiffy .. u know.. her casual/training clothes are just…. idk imagine a royal looking sports bra and leggings?? i guess … ALSO ALSO ALSO she can still shape shift but instead of limiting her shifting to just the changing of skin tone and height, she can completely mimic different alien species but only humanoid races.. like she can have those indented looking knees and huge ass horns and all that but she cant like. turn into an earth lizard u know what im saying. also also also also she still speaks with an accent just… not a british one….(endgame lion: no lion. she keeps leading and piloting the castle ship until destruction, where she leads and pilots the atlas)

- takashi “SHIRO” shirogane: (age: 31) [gay] hes japanese/black. hes keiths uncle and the only family keith really has .. his design doesnt really change much except hes got long hair (like kuron) but its pulled up into a messy bun or pony tail.. in MY canon hes still gay and married to adam (whos name isnt adam i just cant think of a new name for him yet) (and adam lives dont worry) and theyre working on adopting a daughter before shiro has to leave for kerberos. shiro usually dresses in work out outfits so like. gym shorts… tank tops.. leggings.. imagine those white blonde dudes who always wear a man bun and only eat vegan and drink chai from starbucks bc thats exactly how shiro acts but ONLY ironically ……… when shiros abducted on the galra freighter and forced to fight in the ring, his hair streaks white but instead of just a clean scar across his nose, he has multiple long scars scattered across his face from a one x one between his face and some debris thrown at him by a gladiator. his prosthetic looks and remains kinda the same i guess but this time its decked out with claws on the finger tips so it looks a little more galran yeah? After growing up in an unloving home, finding out she’s adopted, and then finding out that her actual parents were even more uncaring than her adopted ones despite being heroes, Beatrix was left wanting nothing more than to dismantle the idea that heroes were somehow these perfect beings. She’s got a very flashy personality and is quite the thottie diva to a point where ‘Bitch’ or ‘Whore’ is practically her middle name. Her quirk allows her to bring any drawing or writing to life and she uses her quirk on her many tattoos to fight. She joined the league because, honestly, she’s an attention seeker and at the moment, the league was getting quite famous and she wanted to get under that spotlight. While her whiny and bratty personality makes her very disliked by her new “boss”, she likes to think she gets along pretty well with the rest of the team and if asked, will confidently say she already plans on marrying Dabi despite his apparent lack of interest.

Hair style: Generally, Beatrix puts her hair up into two buns, leaving her naturally wavy bangs framing her face. This is most practical for fighting, but if she isn’t particularly doing anything, she’ll have her hair down with two smaller buns on top or if she’s feeling extra lazy, she’ll just tie it up in a messy bun.

Uniform: Beatrix doesn’t really believe in “uniforms”. She thinks they’re boring and tacky, she wouldn’t be caught dead wearing the exact same outfit twice during missions.

Civilian clothes: Her civilian clothes also count as her mission clothes, but they are anything but appropriate for fighting. Bea is very fashion savvy and always wants to have the best, cutest clothes and she has a very risque style, often wearing things like leotards, crop tops, or anything that shows a lot of skin. To be honest, she’s an attention whore and she knows she’s got the looks, so she uses them. Think, ‘thottie with a body’, or that bitch who always wears fishnet stockings and as catty as she is, you can’t help but look because damn does she look good. Her favorite outfit, however, is any variation of the classic playboy bunny get up.

Explanation of Quirk: To put it simply, Beatrix is able to bring any type of ink to life, literally pulling it from whatever surface it’s from and controlling it to do whatever she needs. This, along with the fact that she had her rebellious stage quite early and never really left it, is the main reason she has many tattoos, as she can pull them from her skin and use them. Anything with a sharp edge or sharp line work can be used like a blade, her smokey tattoo could be used as a way to shield her presence, the snake could..well, attack people. Her wings, however, are her favorites as she can use them to fly, but she tries to only use them if she really has to. The reason behind this is, the bigger the tattoo, the less time she can use her quirk on it before it has to be returned to her skin.

Enneagram: 7 THE ENTHUSIAST The Busy, Fun-Loving Type: Spontaneous, Versatile, Distractible, and Scattered

History

Ages 0-4: Beatrix was adopted from birth, however this was not something she found out about until she was older. Her toddler age was much like any other, though she was a bit more troublesome than your average young child.

Ages 5-11: At age 5, Beatrix discovered her quirk while drawing in her kindergarten class. After this, her bad temper and brattiness got much, much worse.

Ages 12-14: On top of her average brattiness, being a preteen only made her attitude worse. She had never gotten along with her parents and never really felt a connection with them. They, on the other hand, never made any connection with her either and just saw her as a project they had to keep and take care of until she was old enough to leave because they chose this life. There wasn’t much love or attention given from either side, they were only with one another because of family “love” being the social norm.

Ages 15-Present: At the age of 17, after a rather terrible argument with her parents, Beatrix discovered she was adopted due to her father screaming about how she wasn’t even really theirs, so they shouldn't have to deal with her ‘bullshit’. Despite not having much of a connection with her parents, this life long lie made her absolutely furious. She felt like the only reason she had grown up miserable and, well, a troublemaker was because she wasn’t with her real family.

Once Beatrix turned 18, she got all the information that she could from her parents about her birth family and seeked them out, but this turned out to be a mistake. She was hoping that, finally, she’d have that picture perfect family where she could fit in and be loved, but when she knocked on her parents door one morning and was met with a look of horror after explaining who she was, she knew something wasn’t right.

After being invited inside, both her ‘parents’ sat her down looking pale in the face before giving her an explanation: They gave her up because of their jobs as heroes. They never wanted a child and she was an accident, and since they were both pro heroes, they didn’t have the time for a child and since they didn’t even want one, she was given up. That was when Beatrix went cold, her dream of finally being a puzzle piece finding the puzzle it belonged to being crushed, but when she heard her father utter out the following words, she lost it.

“You..You should leave..We didn’t want you then, and I’m sorry, but we don’t want you now.”

Her actions felt like a blur, but before she knew it, her parents were on the ground littered with deep gashes all over their bodies as a few of her arrow tattoos returned to her arm. Her emotions were a wreck and she felt more lost than ever before, so instead, she told herself that not having a place in the world just meant she was free, so she began doing what any ‘free’ person would do: whatever she wanted. For a while, she didn’t kill anyone and stuck to petty crimes like theft, but this quickly bored her. The lack of love growing up had left her wanting all eyes on her all the time, so she began doing flashier crimes and dressing much more errotically, anything to get attention. She began to let loose even more, and when she saw how infamous this ‘League of Villains’ in Japan was getting, she knew she needed to get under that lovely spotlight, and when there was a call for new members, she was practically the first to pack her life up and move to Japan and start her new life as a member of the League.

  How well they get along: Horribly. She hates anyone who tries to limit her, he hates brats. Luckily, her want to be in the spotlight is strong enough that she takes orders from him, though not without a lot of complaints.

  How well they get along: These too actually get along quite well. They’re both accustomed to fashion or cute things and they both tend to complain a lot, so they’re a good match.

  What OC thinks of them: She thinks she can be a bit annoying, but she loves her excitable spirit and almost sees her as a sister.

  What they thinks of OC: Toga loves Bea, she thinks her style and attitude is impressive. Bea is probably the one who made her a bit obsessive over attractive or interesting people, too.

  Status: They tolerate each other, or rather, Bea loves him and he tolerates her

  How well they get along: It depends on who you ask. Ask Bea, she’ll say they’re a match made in heaven and that everyone should be expecting wedding invites very soon. Ask Dabi, he’ll say she’s annoying and self centered, but he stopped trying to deny how often he looks at her ass a while ago.

  What OC thinks of them: She likes him mostly because she thinks he’s attractive, but she also likes that he’s a bit mysterious. In her eyes, he’s a blank slate, so that leaves her plenty of information to learn about him so she sees him as entertainment and eye candy, her favorite combination.

She whines and complains a lot, but she often complains about the same things he does just in a much more annoying way, so he has to give her that. That, and she’s got an amazing figure and hates their leader. All in all, he thinks she’s obnoxious, but could be worse.

Summary:  Where do people go when they die? Well, for the least lucky people in the world, hell is waiting. But what happens when these people do go to hell? And how did you end up there?

"They don’t care about anyone walking through here, they just want to continue their game of chess," Tyler said, noticing you looking at the group of occupied tables, "admittedly, the most boring circle unless you like chess."  

"I never learned how," you said absentmindedly, "Tom didn’t either. We were gonna learn eventually."  

"I never cared for it."  

Tyler forgot there was only one bed in the room, and offered to sleep on the small red couch in the corner, not wanting to pressure you into anything you were uncomfortable with.  

You had just met two days ago, after all.

However, Tyler felt as if he’d known you for years, and he probably had, considering how time passes on earth compared to hell. It was a dice roll how much time would pass after one day in hell, one day could be five minutes, or three months.  

You forced him to sleep on the bed with you, insisting that it was alright and that you trusted him.  

That’s a first, was all he could think while he laid under the blanket next to you. You had fallen asleep long before Tyler, who stayed up later than usual, thinking about the day ahead and behind you guys. You were going through the third circle, Gluttony, tomorrow. We're gonna need umbrellas.

You woke up feeling more tired than you did when you fell asleep, another night full of nightmares that made you wish you could just die all over again and not come to this place. Tyler was up before you, showered and changing into the same outfit he wore the day before, but cleaner. He wasn’t lying when he said he had stayed there before, multiple versions of the same exact outfit were in the closet.  

"You can change into the clothes I laid out in the bathroom," he said to you. He was drying his hair with a pastel pink towel, only wearing a simple white t-shirt and his black pants unbuckled. He was stood in front of the body length mirror at the back, right-hand corner of the room when you slipped into the bathroom.  

The mirror over the sink was heart shaped and the sink was white porcelain. You noticed a fresh toothbrush sat out for you, still in its wrapping, and a pastel pink towel, the same one as Tyler was using, was laid out neatly next to it. The outfit laid out for you was different than what you thought, a nice black jacket, a white t-shirt, black leggings, and rain boots. He even included a fresh pair of underwear, a tank top for some breast support, and socks for your boots. They looked warm.  

You slowly stripped down before getting into the shower, pulling the magenta shower curtain back, you stepped in. There was a small cubby hole with a neatly folded wash cloth and a fresh bar of soap waiting. To control the water, were two knobs, one for the hot water and one for the cold water. They were both adorned with small love hearts, red and blue, helping differentiate the two knobs. You adjusted the temperature, finding the perfect one for your body, before taking the pink washcloth and lathering the soap on it before thoroughly washing yourself with it.

The lukewarm water cascaded down your body to wash the soap off, and after all the soap wash off, you stood still. The water was soothing, compared to everything you just went through.  

"What're we gonna do if something happens to one of us?" You asked Tom, the day after he asked you to move in with him. You were currently sat on the couch in your studio apartment between Tom's legs.  Your back was against his firm chest, scrolling through your phone as he watched television.  

"Well, I hope nothing does happen," he answered, running his hand soothingly up and down your right arm, "I love you, and nothing will happen to us."  

"I love you too," you sighed, turning your head and puckering your lips expectantly. Tom laughed and kissed you lightly on the lips before going back to watching the TV show.

You were dried off before you knew it, and dressed in the monochromatic outfit that was left for you. When you were finally finished getting ready, having brushed your teeth, and brushed your hair out, you stepped out of the bathroom.  

Tyler was sat with his feet up on the red couch, waiting patiently for you to be done getting ready. As soon as you made yourself known, he stood up and fixed his clothes before leading you toward the door wordlessly.

"Before we get outside, why did I have to leave my shoes?" You asked, looking down at the rain boots you now wore instead of your vans.  

"Gluttony, the ring of rain and sludge," he answered. He handed you an umbrella, that you didn’t know he was holding, and led you out of the bright pink halls of Ashley's sex hotel, "Admittedly, it's not my favourite ring of all time, but it's not as bad as some rings. We’re gonna have a blast.”  

You internally groaned and followed him silently. You had to admit, you never liked rain and mud when you were alive. It was good for the ecosystem, and led you to amazing lazy days with Tom, when he was home, but you never enjoyed running around and getting dirty for no other reason than the sake of rain.  

Tyler grabbed hold of your hand and you decided to pay no mind to it, you were too busy wanting your fiancé.  

“It’s raining,” you said to the picture if Tom on your computer screen, “and you’re not here to cuddle with.”  

“I know babe, but two more days before press tour is over an’ then we can cuddle all we wan’,” he answered. You saw a mischievous glint in his eyes, but before you could ask him what he was up to, there was a knock on the front door of your studio apartment, “someone at the door, love?”  

“I’m not expectin’ anyone,” you said, “should I answer it?”

“I dunno, maybe you should jus' in case,” he said, “I’ll let you go s’you can answer it. Love you.” Before you could reply his face was replaced by the Skype home page and the person knocked again. You groaned and rolled off of your leather couch to answer the persistent person on the other side. You opened it slowly and was greeted by the smiling face of your, at the time, boyfriend.  

“Tom!” you exclaimed, jumping into his outstretched arms and wrapping your legs around his waist, “I thought you had two more days?”  

“I lied so I could surprise you,” he said before burying his face in your neck, letting out a muffled, “I missed you so much.” You felt wetness growing on your neck and realized he was crying, but you didn’t care because you were going to cry too.  

“I missed you, too.”

Tyler had led you out of Lust, and before you knew it, the sky had darkened with clouds. The red sun was no longer visible behind the dark gray puffs in the sky. There was a solid hundred yards before you saw the rain dumping out of the sky with so much force, you would think it was a hurricane.  

“Might wanna open your umbrella now,” Tyler said, “we have to walk through all that.” He pointed to the storm clouds and whatever was ahead of them. You assumed he had another friend somewhere in this ring based on how many he seemed to have already. Although, he never did mention taking a detour for sleep and food. You complied and opened the pink umbrella. Not surprising, you thought. Tyler already had his open, it was a dark red colour that matched the couch from your room earlier that day.  

You didn’t notice the mud that had you sinking slightly into the ground until you were closer to the rain. You had sunk at least an inch into the ground once you'd felt the rain hitting the top of your umbrella with a soft pitter patter.  

"You're gonna have to hold tight to me because the damned sink into the mud," Tyler explained, "I honestly don’t know how it works, but when a demon nabs a human from the mud, they can stand with no problem, so just keep close to me and you won't get covered in mud."  

"Nice to know," you muttered bitterly, lifting your feet from the slop on the ground. It didn’t look pleasant, and smelled worse. Needless to say, you felt for the people stuck sinking in the substance.  

You looped your arm with Tyler's and let him lead you farther into the circle of rain and disgusting, smelly sludge.

You didn’t pay much attention to how long you and Tyler were walking, but you knew you had to be almost out of that rain. You tried to just focus on the semi-trail ahead of you, although it was just a slushy gravel path that even Tyler's boots sunk through, but you couldn’t help but look at how the damned souls were tortured there. From the looks of it, a person was to hold an umbrella over their demonic captures as they play chess with one another. Meanwhile, the person sunk lower and lower into the ground until they could no longer hold the umbrella over the demon, and when that happened, the demon took the person by the hand and pulled them out to restart the continuous process.

You and Tyler continued walking in silence, arms looped.

A few hours later, the rain was letting up. You glance over at Tyler, who hadn't talked since he first explained the chess games. It wasn’t an uncomfortable silence, but it was odd. Yesterday you two talked like you had known each other for years, but you didn’t mind. You saw him staring at you with his red eyes filled with something you didn’t quite recognize. You smiled his way, and he quickly looked away.  

"Um, we're about to come up on a camp, if you want to take a break," He said after clearing his throat. He was very obviously flustered, but you didn’t draw attention to it. That would embarrass him more.  

"Yeah, I could use some sleep and food," you answered. He finally looked back at you and met your eyes. He flashed you the smallest smile, someone inobservant would miss it, but you saw it and you felt butterflies in your stomach before returning it.  

Then, you slipped in the mud, out of Tyler's grasp.

Chapstick= a lip balm for dry lips, etc. doesn’t put color on your lips (usually), helps to keep your lips moist.

Lipstick= comes in all different colors/shades for your lips, used for beauty.

Tbh when I wear makeup my look is just incomplete & I look a bit washed out until I apply lipstick, so it’s kinda a must for me, along with chapstick (you shouldn’t wear lipstick without applying chapstick first)
