What is a tent?
It is to burn while sitting inside, to struggle for breath and suffocate due to the lack of air and cooling. It is like a greenhouse during the daytime. A tent means living on the ground with only fabric separating you from everything around you, coexisting with all the insects of the earth since you are now their guest.
Traditional tasks become extremely complicated, such as taking a nap or bathing, walking comfortably, sitting in peace, feeling safe, settling alone in a place, not getting tired or sore from sleeping on the ground—all of this is non-existent!
A tent means a lack of privacy. Whisper inside your tent, and your words will spread among the other tents. If you listen closely, you will hear their whispers, their suppressed anger, and the crying of children that their mothers don't even try to hush.
Illnesses become entirely commonplace. Your children play with whatever they find on the ground, having lost all their toys. Someone might look into your tent and enter to ask for something because there is no door to knock on. You adapt to primitive bathrooms and forget the luxury of cleanliness you were used to. The smell of smoke from the fire becomes the scent of your skin, even if you manage to bathe. Everyone around you knows the colors and sizes of your clothes since the clothesline is shared.

Official Memorial Day for Sudan Casualties
(Ethiopian Jews who perished on their way to Israel, via Sudan).
Tonight+tomorrow day (כ"ח אייר, Iyar 28th) is Jerusalem Day.
It is also the official memorial day to those who died during the journey from Ethiopia to Israel.
The date wasn't choose randomly. It came to represent the ancient connection, and the place they were yearning for.
This date is a memory of 4,000 People.
4,000 men, women and children that tried to reach Eret Yisrael and Yerushalayim (Yerusalem).
4,000 who didn't make it - but their families and friends did.
The official ceremony/service is in Har (mt.) Hertzel, in the official memorial, in Jerusalem.
Their bodies didn't make it, but their memories did.
I'm in my home, and I hear the ceremony in the local school.
And I'm sad.
But I'm also happy -

There's something really powerful in hearing 600 kids (all kids in school) and their families singing.
"Oh, our brothers, all the people of Yisrael/

Big news: Google has lost its first antitrust case. Via Matt Stoller:
So what happens now? In this case, the judge will come up with remedies next year. The order could be broad, and will likely loosen Google’s control over the mobile app ecosystem. Google has already announced that it will appeal, so the case isn’t over.
That said, Google is likely to be in trouble now, because it is facing multiple antitrust cases, and these kinds of decisions have a bandwagon effect. The precedent is set, in every case going forward the firm will now be seen as presumed guilty, since a jury found Google has violated antitrust laws. Judges are cautious, and are generally afraid of being the first to make a precedent-setting decision. Now they won’t have to. In fact, judges and juries will now have to find a reason to rule for Google. If, say, Judge Amit Mehta in D.C., facing a very similar fact-pattern, chooses to let Google off the hook, well, he’ll look pretty bad.

For usamericans who may not know how to support decolonization and indigenous people in their every-day lives, may I suggest checking this list of native-owned businesses, curated and maintained by indigenous folks. There's food, candles, cbd pre-rolls, clothes, jewelry, hats, baby things, handicrafts, art, and hundreds of other useful and wonderful things. I check this list before I buy non-native owned as often as I can.
Also check out the native-owned (pulitzer-prize winner Louise Erdrich started it!) bookstore and press Milkweed Editions (dot org) for an amazing selection of books by indigenous authors. I recommend Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer (a collection of essays that will change your thinking if your mind is open at all) that's great for sitting down to read for bite-sized chunks. For book recommendations, check out this infographic!
Do you own property and want to support landback but still need a place to live? Odds are good that there's established precedence in your area to transfer its jurisduction to a local tribe and pay your land taxes and etc to them instead of the settler government!
Here is a list of charities and fundraisers for indigenous support.
Other ways to educate yourself and learn what indigenous people are working on nationally and locally is to follow indigenous people online! Many Native peoples on various social medias tag with #indigenous, #native, and by looking at those you will find many other tags and people to follow.
If you have extra cash, consider paying indigenous people's bail, donating to some of the causes linked above, or look for local initiatives to support in your own community!
