thinking about how the only reason sunny started reconnecting with the world and realising he deserves love is because kel never gave up on him. even though sunny isolated himself from everyone kel still called him and tried to reach out. and it’s so pivotal it’s literally the key choice that determines whether or not you get the good ending. the path to healing and contentment depends on whether or not you take the hand kel offers you. and sunny learns to forgive himself because he keeps making that choice. he opens the door for kel, and therefore chooses reconciliation and personal growth. it’s why he’s able to save basil in the end. because kel is strong and resilient and kind. because kel is lonely and has grieved in silence for years but still looks for sunny everywhere he goes. because they’re both invisible. because everything that sunny needs, kel has.
kel saved sunny’s life

CORIOLANUS AND LUCY GRAY ARE THE REVERSED BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
I know this sounds crazy but hear me out.
In the original tale, the Beast keeps his roses hidden, and wants no one to touch them. The tale starts with the Beauty asking her father for the purest rose he can find as a gift from his travels. She could have asked for anything, trasures, money, jewelry, but she only asks for a single rose.
In this story, roses simbolize the human side of the Beast, that wants to remain isolated and never be close to someone again after being cursed. The Beast shows only the monster, hides the human. Similarly, the Beauty asked for something kind and sweet as a gift, for the simplest act of love and humanness.
Now, let's get back to the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
The first thing Coriolanus does when he meets Lucy Gray is gifting her a rose, and the first thing she does is EATING it.
Coriolanus doesn't hide his human side for selfish motivations (gain her trust), using the rose to cover his monstrous and wicked one. Lucy Gray didn't ask for a rose, she didn't want or expext it, and when it's offered to her she eats it, consuming it like an animal would. He acts like a human and she acts like a monster, but the truth is the opposite.
They both act like this because they're performers. All the story is just a long performance that breaks in this two points. Coriolanus shows the human because he's the Beast. Lucy shows the monster because she's the Beauty.

For a long time I had this idea that even though Hathellang lost his hand to the Forsaken Reaver his ultimate victory would be that he and Leonys would not be going to Umbar or entertaining any nonsense with regards to the weird beef he builds up with the PC, instead going home to get on with their lives. But that was before I knew there were other hands at stake

been thinking so hard abt the mask and the moon. this has Most Definitely been said before by a bunch of ppl but please indulge my ramblings for a bit anyways cuz i cannot get over this. it just makes so much sense to me to look at them as (at least partially?) a metaphor for skull kids ugly feelings that stem from his abandonment issues. the fact that one of majoras bossfight phases is called majoras Wrath....... the way the mask is said to be the cause of skull kids actions, and then is revealed to have been outright controlling him. the way that thing states that it shall consume everything and then it flies off to the moon (yet another, but more uh . non-theoretical, direct ‘manifestation’ of the kids anger) and u go inside, supposedly to the core of it and are met with the peaceful field and the tree and the five children. four of which run around wearing masks of the bosses of the dungeons u had to go thru in order to get to the giants. four of which play hide and seek with u, and Theyre the ones who hide. and one child, sitting all by himself, wearing majoras mask. one who u confront after ‘everyone has gone away’ and who suggests that u play good guys against bad guys w/ him and states that ‘when youre bad, you just run’. also this visual parallel
wailing and crying

holy shit just had a big brain revelation
drawing another piece for cringetober and its the gijinka one and what do you know. ofc im drawing the mxes entity as william because. and my plan initially was to make his skin just normal but as i was coloring it, i made him be a similar (blue purply) color to the entity overall, skin included, but i was curious how he would look like with normal human skin too so, im coloring his face and neck and thinking, hey how could i include his springlock scars, since the pale skin is asking for some of the markings
and the fucking. the white lines all over the entity's body are the springlock scars
thats it thats my new Thought.
my new silly headcanon based on absolutely nothing besides a what if
