lost township: the homegame
howdy yall :D i made a post like this a while ago that very much needed to be updated and i simply talk about and tag characters from lost township a lot so i wanted to have an easy place to reference for what in the hell im talking about and something to throw at people when i want to infodump. so!!
the game:
lost township is a d&d homegame set in a fictionalized, magical 1880s wild west. its set in the american-equivalent country the democracy of silver and includes all of the magic that we know from typical d&d games. it's based in the town of lost, in the state of undersun, sandwiched between harsh deserts and the mountains
the pcs:
cass bluebell - she/her - human drunken master monk - played by @strangetorpedos
cass is the owner of the saloon in lost and mother to adopted 6 year old davey. she's stoic, fair, and always just a little too weary for all the things on her plate. she took over the saloon about 5 years ago after the murder of her mother by the mysterious assassin the brownbird, and spent years trying to solve the murder to no avail (until recently). middle aged repressed lesbian on main, didn't sign up for this shit - art
divine shook - she/her - aasimar eloquence bard + oath of the bear paladin - played by @masculinepeacock
divine is the schoolteacher in lost and lives with her wife sarah and brother-in-law hawk. former southern belle of the rich intervention family, now barely scraping by as the breadwinner of the household. chronically babygirl coded, ultimate bambi lesbian. is the angel of the deer god of poetry but currently follows the bear god of fire and families and talks to her god like she's her mom (she is in their hearts). currently dating(?) sheriff lizzie - tag

maeve is a former sex worker turned recently hired psychopomp of the raven queen, soon to be doing the psychopomp thing full time. she always has the most insane response possible no matter what the question was and does not know how to read. she also did not know what a psychopomp was when she agreed to be one. is currently under the tutelage of latrowe, the raven queen's current psychopomp, and has been being plagued by dreams and nightmares she knows aren't her own

morel is the local witch doctor and prophet of the god of fungi and decay. lived on the outskirts of lost for many years, providing free healthcare to the vulnerable townsfolk who weren't safe with the town's stuffy doctor. after pining for years, finally in a relationship with cat after the "unfortunate" murder of her former husband, and jointly raising her daughter kitten and their mysteriously delivered baby juniper. goth sad cow - tag
onion - they/he/she - fey shepherd druid / fey wanderer ranger - played by @paladinbaby
onion is a smuggler and deliverer of changelings who was introduced to the party with the task of safely transporting them from lost to the neighboring state. he's Fey Neurodivergent and a bit of a grumpy messy dyke (gender neutral) who doesn't have a ton of connections but cares about his people very deeply. chosen family with waylon squad and best friends with brandi - tag
will orville - he/him - werewolf gunslinger fighter - played by @punkbarbarian
will is an "investigator" (mercenary) who was brought to town under instructions to find and kill the brownbird and then ended up staying because he is a big old sad puppydog who needed to learn to love again and is. he is so so autism dad on main and cries at the drop of a hat (affectionate). currently dating scruggs, the first relationship he's been in since his husband was killed 13 years ago - tag

used to be just a regular coyote, got chosen by morel's god to be a gift to the raven queen and become her psychopomp. showed up in maeve's dreams for a while and is now in the process of training her to be the new psychopomp cause he really misses being. just a dog. very formal and stoic when he's not eating out of your trash, fights with a cool glowing dagger

a religious researcher who was supposed to be cataloguing the pantheons of the democracy but ended up parking in lost for a while to study the jack (autism special interest alert). ultimate nerd, way too talkative, twink who's one stiff breeze away from having his bi awakening. currently has a puppy crush on kelsey and hasn't put together that's why scruggs is mean to him

waylon: not really. he cant feel his body too much anymore
scruggs: not as much as he used to. but i think he clenches his fists when he's upset and they can get achy
lizzie: yeah, a lot. mostly in her shoulders

waylon: he loves all his kids but kelsey is. his baby.
scruggs: you could get scruggs to choose between all his sisters over his cold dead body but he. was a mama's boy <3
lizzie: scruggs is definitely the easiest to get along with but she's put the most effort into strengthening her relationship with kelsey and feels really proud of the place they've been able to get to even if it's not perfect. she is. very protective over kelsey <3 which luckily kelsey doesnt mind too much
kelsey: they love both of their siblings but. they are a daddy's girl <3

waylon: he hasn't had a Ton of screentime but i think the fight between him and lizzie that will overheard and then his subsequent conversation with will about brandi <3 just listened to lizzie be like youre not my dad actually so fuck off and then immediately was like. no you can kill brandi actually go for it
scruggs: simply all the him and will being horny on main scenes are so so funny 2 me. horndog ass middle aged men
lizzie: the onion and lizzie catfight <3 and then immediately afterwards giving divine her jacket and rambling about why she likes divine and getting kissed about it. girl had a Day

waylon: very much so yes
scruggs: he is <3 not very good at it <3 but will if it's important. he's a lot better at keeping other people's secrets than his own

onion is more tension than person at this point simply where don’t they carry it
cyndi i think carries tension in her hands and her shoulders, shania definitely has to remind her to unclench her fists a lot especially in the early days

i haven’t played cyndi yet but for onion either her fight with lizzie because it is very fun to take an antagonising role in an argument or when will just talked at her and assumed she and brandi were a thing because it really got me

onion and cyndi are both soooo good at keeping secrets in ways that are definitely healthy

onion - brandi. emotional support bunny rabbit. i also think onion self soothes by unpacking and repacking their bag to reassure themself that they’re ready to Go
cyndi - her family! and just like the routines of domesticity that for a long time he wasnt allowed

already answered for cyndi but for onion loneliness or fear <33

both of them are pretty introverted i think. onion because she was never exposed to that many people growing up and cyndi because she has been around to many people and is now a tired old lady

onion smells like wet forest dirt. like in a clean pleasant way but mostly like dirt and tree bark. cyndi i think just smells like plain soap. neither of them are perfume people

50. can they sing? can they dance?
scruggs: he absolutely fucking cannot dance but he likes doing that like. slow sway, occasionally spin partner, kind of dancing. i think his sisters used to make him do that a lot. and i think he has a good singing voice but for like. deep rousing tavern songs kind of singing
brandi: she cannot sing or dance if her life depended on it and that doesnt stop her from trying
51. what is the most beautiful thing in the world, for them?
scruggs: just like. a really nice homemade meal shared with family
brandi: she would probably say something like a really finely crafted weapon or something but i think the real answer is a sunrise after youve been up all night and your brain is a little foggy but you just feel so at peace and chill. is like his real answer

scruggs: its a little hard for scruggs as waylon's bodyguard because he has to keep up the appearance that he's angry when people are acting like dicks around waylon (which is often because waylon is an utter bitch of an old man) but generally he finds it pretty amusing. but like. when people make any sort of remarks about his family he can get set off pretty easily. he is ,, a Tad overprotective over lizzie and kelsey much to their chagrin
brandi: brandi has so so much anger that is so so incredibly repressed that she just doesn't realize she's feeling it ever

nox: bo has literally so so much affection for nox so when they didnt talk for a while he was genuinely so emo about it. nox is his little guy!!! he's just so used to people being mad at him for things that when they had the crush convo bo was like. i couldnt have changed the outcome of this but now nox is gonna hate me <33 so was trying to give nox space and when nox didnt initiate bo was like. okay i was right. but now that they've finally talked i think bo is still a little Skittish but like. just loves nox so dearly. and is so keen on protecting him and supporting them any way he can. i think of all the party members bo is the most Sweet On nox. just very Affectionate
kai: kai is his brother!!!!! like for so long family Only meant his mom to bo. which is part of why he was like. so unable to see how bad she was and leave. she was All He Had. and so after finding bubba and rosie and like. finally letting himself grow closer to kai in that way. he realized that his family could look a lot different than he ever thought it could. kai is his brother which means he's the perfect person to piss bo off but also he would so die for them in a fucking heartbeat. he can finally like. kind of get back some of his teenage years with them and like. just have some fun? Boy Time. he's trying not to mother hen kai so bad but. it's something he's still learning
nettle: speaking of mother henning. bo wants to soooooo bad. nettle is so wet cat core and its so obvious she's been having a Rough Go that he genuinely wants to do everything he can to support her but is struggling because she clearly Doesnt Want That. so he's kind of at a loss for what to do and just tries to make himself Present. or does things like makes a ton of different kinds of cookies to sus out what her favorite ones are. he's simply like. i will adopt her i just need to not have her run into the woods first. and i think he's started opening up to her like. To Show Her It's Okay. not realizing that it's actually really helping him bc he's a little stupid
theo: okay not a party member TECHNICALLY BUT. bo wants to take care of her so so bad. you know when a realtor takes you through a house and is like its a fixer upper its got good bones!!! bo is like. im simply going to Fix Her. he thinks she has so much potential to feel better she just needs to accept help. he really is so sad puppy dog about her and like. he just so desperately wants her to acknowledge that she's cared for and doesn't understand why that's so hard because he's a gigantic hypocrite who can't acknowledge that he himself is cared for
