But anyway, I went ahead and translated that whole song so that we can spiral over the lyrics together:

I love a good fake relationship fic. Fake dating, fake marriage, you name it, I'm here for it. So this week for Fic Back Friday, I am recommending Talk some sense to me by @daisyapples. It's so good. There's a boatload of pining. They're absolute obliviots. And this fic packs in so many of my favorite tropes, too. There's only one bed. Friends to lovers. It's is chef's kiss, through and through.

Stargate Atlantis 4x05 Travelers

TL;DR: John flirts outrageously; Rodney observes intently. And I love these two obliviots.

Look, I hardly know where to start unpacking all this. The team is reunited, after having thought they lost John twice. They're bonding over a shared meal, as they so often do, but Rodney has clearly rushed through his food - not even finishing everything - just so he can watch John. We don't see Rodney's face here, but here's the thing: he's not moving. Consider what a rare thing that is: Rodney holding still and giving his full, undivided attention to someone. And all that pyroclastic intensity is currently focused on John.

And what does John do? He outright flirts with Rodney. It's not a subtle, blink and you miss it thing, either. He puts on a little performance for him, eating with care and deliberation, groaning with the sort of satisfaction you can easily imagine coming from Rodney during a good meal, or from a happy partner during sex, all while staring back at Rodney. Then the fucker WINKS at him, saying "That's good." In case Rodney somehow missed it.

Rodney's mouth runs on auto-snark, as per usual, but John just keeps eating and talking. And we know it's for Rodney's benefit because he then looks Rodney square in the face and says he's really beginning to appreciate what he has. Not in spite of his adventures with Larrin and crew, but because he was forcibly separated from Rodney. (And his team, and Atlantis, and non-reconstituted food, but come on, now, those are just the plausible deniability, the fig leaf our emotional turtle can hide behind if challenged.) And, just for the record, John specifically told Larrin in the previous scene that he was not asking her out to dinner.

Marinette and Adrien are adults now. And as adults, they are in need of their own accommodations. Alya and Nino moved in together, leaving our duo best friendless. Luckily for them, they each have one more best friend to turn to.

Do you mean my favorite genre to read? It varies depending on my mood, but it can go from murder mysteries (I prefer ones set in Britain but I'll read anything if it's well written) to romance (but only gay, I'm really not interested in het romance). I've read everything Dick Francis's wife wrote at least five times each, I went through a whole phase of Agatha Christie, etc.

Tommy’s character arc on this show has become so meaningful and im pretty amazed and how they were able to turn bits and pieces of dialogue and action throughout his time on the show into something so complex and powerful. This person who was in survival mode in a line of work that can be so isolating. Someone who did everything to fit in, maybe hurting others in the process. Then we see that barrier slowly but surely come down until he’s there for his team, his friends and eventually himself. Someone so internally and externally isolated turned to someone so confident and sure of who he is. This person who can open his arms with empathy and care and kindness to someone else who just crawled out of an ever-present fog and is finally breathing fresh air. Tommy represents the hope of loving loud-loving yourself, those around you, the things you do and the difference that makes. I can confidently say there are a couple of obliviots who need that window of hope. Yes the Buckley-Diaz family will always be my endgame but right now Tommy is unbelievably important to their story, and no not just for Buck. He’s Eddie’s reflection. I do not want canon Buddie to be rushed. It becomes a cop out, and erases 5 years of such incredible development. Let them unravel a bit first. No cheating istfg. Appreciate the “oh” moments, and the obliviot moments, and let Buck have Tommy for now. Its sweet. It is going to make it so worth the wait. When Buck is happy for once and realizes he’s actually happiest with someone else who may or may not have been in front of his face for several years. SLOWBURNS ARE ELITE OKAY? I am going to enjoy the buddie angst and Tommy’s flirty bullying. Also… representation matters,, not just to us but maybe to a certain gay firefighter who is about to watch his best friend be happy with another man. That thats a possibility, and its okay.

Here’s the annual January redraw of the first time I drew the obliviots. If you’ve been following me since the beginning, found me along the way or are brand new I love you, I appreciate you and you mean the world to me. I’m hopeful for their future, regardless they’ll live canonically in my art!

Blinking, he realizes he’s lost the thread of the conversation and Brandon’s still waiting patiently for his answer.

Brandon strokes his hair. Adam is heavy and Brandon’s going to need to breathe again at some point, but right now he’ll willingly put up with any number of discomforts if it means he’s got Adam there, surrounding and invading all his senses until there’s nothing else Brandon can see, smell, or feel.

“I miss you so much,” he whispers, because Adam’s asleep and therefore it’s safe to be vulnerable. “I love the Pens, I do, playing there has been incredible, but—” He presses a kiss to Adam’s temple. “I miss you so much it’s like I’ve lost an arm, or one of my senses. I turn to talk to you a thousand times a day. I don’t—how am I supposed to do this without you?”
