This roasted leek & blood orange salad is a winter dream. Buttery roasted leeks, juicy blood oranges, creamy burrata cheese, crisp radishes, roasted hazelnuts, and fresh herbs. It’s bright and refreshing, with lots of richness from the burrata.
Daikon - 大根
They are delicious. Working on this picture reminded me that the color green is my arch-nemesis. Do you have a color that you feel is challenging to work with? Or that you do not like?
To see the earthy vegetables cleaned of soil and laid out ready for storage every fall brings such a joy for me. The work of a successful summer garden and harvest at the end of the season gives proof of a future that provides for winter health and happiness.
The initial harvest of radishes in the polytunnel is looking promising! I planted these last autumn, and they managed to endure the winter quite nicely. However, there's a bit of a setback—some of them ended up bolting. It's possible it's my fault; I erred on the side of caution with watering due to the chilly Yorkshire nights, but it seems I may have kept them a tad too dry. Radishes thrive on water, so it's crucial to give them a good, regular watering regimen. 😊💚🌱
