Divorce the Princess AU - credit to Cabin Enthusiast
I've talked with a few people in the Tabby Discord. They agree that there should be an ending where Quiet separates from SM but doesn't slay her.
Think about it: Whether intentionally or not, they have hurt each other, and sure an option is to shove everything under the rug, but there can be more options.
Maybe once Quiet goes to the Heart with Hero and are above the basement - let's suppose Hero got them out of Her - the Voices can stage an intervention? It's difficult to see you're in a bad situation if you're in the thick of it. Hero genuinely cares for your wellbeing and I'm sure Contrarian wouldn't be opposed either. Smitten and Broke would possibly be the hardest to convince. Just talk things out with people that can see from the 'outside' or at least one step removed.
Here's my readings/evidence
Adversary: Look, I love adversary and it can be healthy, sure! But if the wrong options are picked she beats him to death, even moreso if he tries to go upstairs and hide from her. Needle outright blames him from what she's become. Even SM agrees she victim blamed him!
Damsel actually doesn't do anything, she's fine. LQ can make her deconstruct but it's accidental at least? (I hope the Pristine Cut doesn't make me eat my words)
Prisoner is also fine other than strangling him with her chains. Boundaries, people.
The Greys kill you but to be fair you killed them first so it's a bit of a cycle.
Spectre: LQ outright killed her first. I've never been killed so I don't know if ripping out the heart is an appropiate response. Wraith has some lines in the posession moment that's heavily reminicent of other things.
Witch: If it's Witch alone I can say 'fair', because it's a cycle of betrayal. Both hurt each other in this one.
Wild is also pretty okay but you can also read the route as codependency given form.
Nightmare and MOC are pretty irredeemable in my book, what with hurting him enough times even the Voices are heavily traumatized. That's an overreaction to being locked in a basement. I get the initial lashing out but to keep it going...
Beast and Den: She fucking eats him. Enough said.
Tower: The most obvious one, verbal abuse galore and makes him hurt himself. Fury from what we have won't be a cakewalk either. And given the trailer Apotheosis can stone you

Slay The Princess Roles Reversal Idea
Ok, it seems like my stupid ideas for this STP brainrot of mine actually keep getting popular for some reason so here we go.
Imagine this: It's at the end of the road, you're in the Stranger's cabin at the heart of the Shifting Mound, pristine blade in hand. At this point, you've become aware that there is no good ending. You steel your nerve and prepare to plunge the weapon into her heart for the final time ...But you never get to make it that far.
Voice of the Contrarian: ...I'm sorry. I can't let you do this.
Chains are wrapping around you. You can feel yourself shattering, fragments of yourself unravelling from your essence in a sensation that feels completely foreign and yet all too familiar. Everything goes dark, and you forget yourself.
Someone wakes up in a locked cabin, at the top of the stairs. It's not you. Instead, it is a beautiful maiden, tasked with slaying the beast in the basement. If she doesn't, then she will die. Or at least, that is what the Shadow keeps telling her.
I like to think that Contrarian would actually be quite convincing in this role. He is, after all, doing this for the Princess' own good. Moreover, he will be right. If she doesn't you, you will kill her. Very, very few routes end up with both of you surviving. And even those routes need at least one of you to die first.
I haven't really thought this through very well on how it would actually work, but it would be super interesting.

slay the princess au where the Princess and the Hero switch places. I've been imagining all the voices as chapter characters also blended with those versions of the Princess. So far I've decided his "Damsel" route would be called "the Knight" and he tries to rescue you and sweep you off your feet but he is also still chained up in the basement and he looks silly doing it. the voice of the Damsel is still charmed by the display

Here we have the Princess and the Damsel, in their AU outfits and colors
For more worldbuilding, I decided that the world would be similar to the Construct, but on a larger scale, and populated exclusively by fragments of the Shifting Mound (except for the Long Quiet, Narrator and Voices). Since she's infinite, she definitely has enough potential to spawn enough vessels to populate an entire fantasy continent.
(and yes there would be men, because who's to say SM can't have trans vessels lol)
The Princess in her vanilla form and the Damsel would play the role of sisters here, with their own nation to rule.

a slay the princess au (path through the woods) in which you are a young woman escaping her cabin through the only way you know: the path through the woods, despite (or in spite of) the fact a monster is said to dwell among its trees.

Slay the princess swap au part 11
(Smitten/damsel route)
Can’t wait to take a lot of time drawing the burned grey route version of him (not even being sarcastic I have so many ideas)
Cw: you stab him, he dies, that should explain enough
Congratulations you can killed a bird next part you kill your self and you’ll see the voice of the witch 💪 (idc if it should be he spectre cus she swapped the cold but she would not behave that way, although some stuff has changed I want to keep the personalities of everyone pretty similar but tweaked)
Thing I’m pretty sure I haven’t mentioned that I want to is the claws are long because in the last chapter of you try to kill the monster but warn him you see the claws are super long, the smitten, the hunted, and the opportunist all will have long claws since the princess in this version saw the monster slice its leg trying to escape the bear trap and in the og game the princess got more animalistic if you saw her chew on her wrist(not the damsel though but I wanted to keep a consistent thing with the smitten opportunist and hunted)

Adding to the previous bit of me and my fiancé’s slay the princess au/ head cannon. Here are the different birds and their voices:
Voice of the Hero- Eagle. High on the food chain; a common symbol of strength
Voice of the Smitten- Peacock. Focused on preening and their appearance; a symbol of beauty, love, and elegance
Voice of the Hunted- Sparrow. Small and pretty low on the food chain; rarely predator, mostly prey
Voice of the Broken- Chicken/ Turkey. Commonly farmed in terrible conditions; sad and is used to seeing the worst in a situation
Voice of the Cold- Shrike/ fire hawk. Both known for their violent hunting tendencies; ready to kill
Voice of the Cheated- Cockatoo. I just thought this one was funny.
Voice of the Opportunist- Seagull/ Pelican. Will take anything given the chance; always looking for a way to have a situation fall in their favor
Voice of the Contrarian- Cockatiel. Once again, just thought it was funny.
Voice of the Stubborn- Pigeon/ Seagull/ Bluejay. That’s just their whole personality
Voice of the Paranoid- Hummingbird. Quick birds that are skittish
Voice of the Skeptic- Potoo/ Frogmouth. I just really wanted one in this head cannon.
