Planetswap-AU Outline!

Finally manged to finish the backstory-outlines for my planetswap-au!

I Lion El‘Johnson (Olympia): The tyrant of Lochos received a vision that a child from the sky would take his throne and so he ordered his servants to kill the infant. But instead they gave the baby to a huntress, who went on to raise him as a girl. Many years later she meets Calliphone, the princess of Lochos who ran away, and while they slowly fell in love, they started planning the revolution.

III Fulgrim (Barbarus): Beeing captured by the tyrannical overlord Necare, Fulgrim spent his whole life in a tower on the highest mountain of Barbarus. While beeing forced to work for Necare, the toxic atmosphere slowly but surely did irreversible damage to his lungs. When the Emporer finally came to Barbarus, Fulgrim was closer to death than live, and even after leaving the planet, he is in dire need of medical treatment.

IV Perturabo (Baal Secundus): Perturabos pod was found by the mutants living in the desert and they raised him as one of their own. And seeing their suffering, he wanted to help. And he managed to, building houses and trying to improve medicine.

V Jagathai Dorn (Inwit): The young Jaghatai was found by the patriarch of the house Dorn. Growing up amongst the feuding houses he soon learned the in and outs of both politics and polite society and became a master of artic warfare. It didn‘t take long for him to conquer the whole world and so he set to the stars, soon having taken over the whole of the Inwit-cluster.

VI Leman (Prospero): After landing in the desert of Prospero, the planets psykic jackels led the infant to the city of Tizca. Roaming it‘s streets, Leman finally found a home in the cities great library. He learned the place of every book and despite beeing of great help to the people of Prospero, he always felt like a outsider due to his inability to use magic.

VII Rogal (Cthonia): Rogal was found by one of Cthonias many gang-leaders, who quickly came to treat him as her own son. As the young primarch grew up, he realized what his mother was actually doing and in a fit of rage accidentally killed her. Terrified of what he did, Rogal ran away and hid out until the emporer arrived.

VIII Konrad (Caliban): There are many strage creatures in the depth of Calibans forest and one of them is the Lady of the Lake. As beautifull as she is deadly and often accompanied by the Watchers in the Dark, she may help those mortals brave or foolish enough to seek her out. But if they are deemed unworthy, they may loose their heart to her.

IX Sanguinius Khan (Chogoris/Mundus Plannus): Raised by a tribal leader, Sanguinius had a happy childhood until his father was killed by a enemy tribe. Gathering his own army, he set out for revenge and once he tasted blood, there was no going back. With both fear and diplomacy he united the warring tribes of the steppe, attracting the attention of the planets empires who soon managed to capture him. The day of his supposed execution, he killed the local emporer and fought his way back out, soon taking over the whole planet.

X Ferrus Manus (Terra): Ferrus was raised by the Emporer himself or more accuratly, it was Malcador who did most of it. He traveled the stars ever since he was young and no, the Emporer definetly did not loose a teenage Ferrus, leading to him slaying a necron construct which coated his arms in living metal.

XII Angron Guilliman (Macragge): Angron was raised by loving parents and had a very happy childhood. Thanks to his empathy-powers he came to greatly care about regular humans and so started to improve live for everyone. He also introduced proper democracy to Ultramar and started adopting every stray cat he meets.

XIII Roboute (Deliverance/Lycaeus): Roboute grew up in the shadows, always hiding from the prison guards and helping prepare the slaves for the revolution. But it didn‘t work forever and he was caught. The sadistic guards were fascinated by the strange boy who was too big and healed too fast. But even after he escaped and the revolution suceeded, Roboute would never be the same again and still struggles to speak.

XIV Mortarion (Colchis): When a especially bad drought hit Colchis, multiple children were sacrificed to their god of nature. Little Mortarion was the only one to return, no longer human and never to grow up.

XV Magnus the Red (Nocturne): Nocturne has always been a unstable planet, the myriad of vulvanos and lavafields forcing it‘s inhabitants to constantly move. The young Magnus soon realized that he had the power to controll both fire and the earth itself. He learned how to fight the planets vulcanos and turned the deathworld into a much more hospitable place.

XVI Horus (Nuceria): Horus was lucky: the high-rider who found him decided to keep him instead of throwing the child into the figthing pits. He grew up in luxury and later used his influence not to improve live for everyone but to have good time, doing drugs and playing gladiator. To him it was just a game, afterall he is a primarch, he wouldn‘t loose.

XVII Lorgar (Medusa): Lorgar grew up in a secluded monestary high in Medusas mountains. As she got older, she realized that she is not a man, which led to her beeing kicked out of the monestary. Wandering the lands she had to learn who she actually is and find a more healthy relationship to her religion,

XVIII Vulkan of the Russ (Fenris): Vulkan was found by a young dragon, who miraculously didn‘t kill the infant, instead taking care of the young boy. As he got older, his interest in humans grew until he decided to join the nearby human village. Quickly discovering his talent as a smith and warrior -as well as a love for everything shiny- he became the leader of his people.

XIX Corvus Corax (Chemos, kind of): Corvus landed on the planet of Chemos, but they didn‘t stay there for long: harlequins found the infant wandering about and after a bit of godly intervention accepted the infant as one of their own. They learned the harlequins dances and stories, how to use eldar weaponery and about Cegorachs mysterious plans as they travelled the webway. And for the story to advance, they need to leave their adoptive family… at least for now.

XX Alpharius and Omegon (Nostramo): While they landed on a absolutly horrible planet, they were together. Speaking a language only the two of them can understand, they did their best to survive as so many street urchins did, and maybe improve that hellhole of a planet.

heavenly hermits au update:

Grian is a Watcher who claimed the Hermitcraft server to keep other Watchers away from it, in order to protect Mumbo; he started lurking on it as the server cryptid in s6 and was officially welcomed in s7.

Mumbo was a normal human up until s7, when he started delving into dark magic. His s7 base held his heart and acted as a second life for him; in s8 he added the conjuring of end crystals to his repertoire and became a de facto Watcher after stealing Grian's soul.

Zedaph is the god of death, and facilitates the process of respawning in the server. He regularly forgets that he has a job to do because he's busy getting distracted by weird game mechanics, and other hermits have to message him to ask him to revive their friends.

Pearl thought she was a normal human until S9's crossover; after remembering the events of ESMP1, she also gains access to her divine power as Santa Perla.

Gem is her S9/ESMP2 character, a dimension-hopping celestial being with powerful nature magic who mostly uses her powers to LARP.

Doc gained the powers of a Developer after slaying one in PVP, and now holds dominion over code. He mostly uses this power to make his farms more efficient.

Tango is the Deepfrost Citadel, and has been growing in power since the first Decked Out in S7. He gets more powerful with every Hermit who plays his game.

BDubs is a living saint of the sun, and has some divine power as a result, which he has convinced himself makes him a god. The actual gods on the server, especially Gem (who gave him his sainthood), think this is very cute.

Joel is still his ESMP2 character, a god of lightning and thunder. He uses this power extensively and capriciously.

Scar and Cub are Vexes, and through their worship of Vex deities, have become functionally immortal via essentially having a permanent Totem of Undying effect.

Iskall was among the first Players ever to exist, and escaped the purge of the first group of players by fleeing to another universe. He has been dimension-hopping since the birth of the multiverse, picking up various magics and technologies along the way, until he was functionally indistinguishable from a god.

Xisuma is a completely normal guy. He didn't set out to cultivate a server of mostly gods. He doesn't know how this happened.

Simon's joke of "soup of theseus" is so damn good & way more layered than most people think.

Okay so first- what is the ship of Theseus?

So amongst his many misadventures and legends the ship of theseus was a ship the Athenians believed connected them to the divine living person that was Theseus. The thing is, he was maybe Poseidon's adopted kid/the King if Athen's son and probably not real (or at least if he did his misadventures were super exaggerated as royals = divity stories are) but the fate the Athenians had for him & Apollo (the 6 labors is a fun legend that explains their connection and what the original ship may have been) was so intense, they would constantly give maintence as a form of religious worship to said ship on the island of Delos (where Apollo's most sacred sancutary is) every year it would dock to pay respects.

Btw we don't need to know the specifics of Theseus but he did infamously slay a minotar and Finn did have a good exchange with the Mannish Man to get the enchiridion aka the book that sets Betty & Simon on the paths they are on now so that's neat af

So if you've ever heard about the ship of Theseus being paradox- it comes from the critique that's always existed about that ship's maintenance & religious practices tldr if you are constantly replacing each rotted and borken part of a ship, is it still the same ship?

The soup is a paradox like the ship

That paradox exists in many many scifi and adventure stories like the Nier series & Ghost in the Shell but in this instance we got to first look at the joke literally. Farm world's Finn's wife's soup is the same as the ship. The original soup farm world HW made no longer exists on a technicality, but the way Finn and his kids continue to add on and consume the soup is exactly like the Athenians. It's about the intent of carrying on the memory and keeping the soup around to honor the dead rather than the soup's original recipe {which also is incredibly sad & imples that farmworld Finn is both coping and never learned the original soup recipe}. It's a beautiful way to honor their dead mom/wife and it makes you wonder if that Finn did die if his kids will continue the practice.

But the paradox goes beyond the soup & into our reality

A lot of people have noticed that Fionna's last name is Campbell and Campbells is a real soup brand that would've been around before the great mushroom war. When Marceline gets sick as a kid, Simon goes great lenghts to get her chicken soup- that only worked out because the primordial version of the Mother Gum assisting {which is extreme Bubbeline foreshadowing}. And in that scene the can low key is a campbell design. But what if I told you there's more?

In Cheers, the tv show Simon is seen constantly watching and referencing throughout the original run of Adventure Time & in the recent Fionna and Cake had Carla Tortelli work at a Canpbell's Factory.

Neat references aside the soup ends the moment the main trio hit the remote button and I have a BA in psychology & interest in childrens media and entertainment that I want to milk for once. Metaphorical intention is beyond relevant episode specifics but actually the foundation of Fionna and Cake when it comes to the paradox.

If Simon can summon his & Prismo's au from his head without proper MMS (Magic, Madness, and Sadness) where does Simon the human start and Ice King end?

As viewers who grew up alongside the series, the majority of 25+ watchers are finding Simon, older Finn, and Fionna painfully relatable because good fucking god we are all traumatized because of the ongoing pandemic.

If you want to focus on the main topic you can skip this part. But if you want to get very serious for a minute, please stay. The majority of people wont to accept what I just said about the pandemic being ongoing because global governments pretending the pandemic is over, the rise of depression and escapism in real time at a social level at a global level but especially in the US where the series is being made, and the daily interactions we have with most people refusing to mask up {with a violent reaction} when there still isn't a cure for COVID has created the perfect enviroment for most people to not accept change or crave extreme change. Fionna and Cake tackles these 2 very common forms of how depression tends to manifest when it's not fully manic to be displayed through Simon (self isolation from poor coping due to loss, detachment from society, dwelling on the past to the point it effects social interactions, extreme forms of religious practice, etc.) and Fionna/Finn (pretending everything is fine, avoidance, going through the bare minimum motions to survive, escapsim and dream of grandure, not caring about sel preservation, no/lack of self control with sweets/coffee, etc.). And I've noted there's a subset of AT viewers who don't relate or find the depections too real to the point they're upset the show's tone isn't as light hearted as AT. The thing is when a global disabling event happens, unless you were under 10 when it happened and even then it's a 50/50 because you probably did lose or know somebody who did die these last several years, you will have some kind of trauma response to it whether you like it or not. Hell, some of you unknowlingly have a gap in your memory about 2020 specifically due to inconsistent sleep schedules that have nothing to do with the shrinking of the brain mass COVID causes that we all call "brain fog" and now that I pointed it out you're probably going to go stare at a wall for 5 mins {sorry btw, doubly if you have long COVID and this is how you found out what brain fog partially is}. As someone who's been dealing with depression since I was a child, it's okay to be not okay given the last several years and doubly if you've been conscious long enough to see the US freefall into fascism too {which I hope encourages those who weren't aware that's been happening to go look into that because we can't get into it right now}. Because I unfortunately know what manic depression can look like - if you find yourself relating to Simon a little too much during ep 3, please talk to somebody who is licensed and trained to do so {not me, I haven't done suicide prevention work since 2017 and am not licensed- I genuienly won't be enough of a resource} okay? Don't throw away yourself nor change yourself for others only. You need to work to accept the past, move on to live in the present, and change yourself for yourself. It won't be easy and resources are out there to not do it alone, alright?

Becuase of how paradoxial and fluid mental health (espeically undiagnosed depression) can be and how AT has it's own version with MMS, could Simon have unconscious MMS still because of Betty's with without a battery but can't tap into it because of his mental state? And could Ice King as we once knew him even be considered a proper person Simon could return too?

The original wish of why Ice King's appearance & abilities is the way it is IS because of Evergreen's impression on Gunter {Evergreen was one of the ice elementals of the past btw- go watch the original Adventure Time for that context}. So Ice King isn't even an original character, just the crown building off the wishes and manifestations of each bearer by emulating a warped version of Evergreen. And that's the main reason why I speculate Ice Thing aka Gunter the Penguin is chill af to the point he got married and can exist with less gems. His wish didn't build off of power to protect Marceline (Simon) nor the power to copy Evergreen (Original Gunter).

As the main trio jump from connected universe to connected universe, more Simons and crowns will appear that are even more removed from our Ooo's crown and it's version of Ice King or Ice Prince or Winter King will only manifest because of the prior and current wishes made. So if Simon does get a crown that isn't the Ooo crown, will the Ice King that once existed even be THE Ice King he wants to be? And will Simon want to be Ice King or an Ice King when the trio do return to his Ooo?

The crown and it's many versions is a paradox that can only be resolved if Simon and Fionna can work together but also set aside their depression to address what they both really want and what that wish's intention will do to themselves and those around them. In short, shit's deep

I applaud the team for Fionna and Cake for tackling such a layered problem and I'm excited to see how Simon's soup of emotions, Fionna's growth, & magic crown of Theseus is addressed.

ok ok so. i have a lot of stuff 4 grian so far so im gonna start with him.

first of all his horns r supposed to be somewhat like the evo symbol. shortly after the last edit he got kicked out of the brooding caverns early and they just kinda gave him over to whatever cult represents the watchers here. also it's my au and i get to decide what old grian content is canon. yhs is too. one of his horns got ripped out by sam while they were both like 3 sweep olds. also he dresses like a rust instead of a purple (w the makeup instead of facepaint. slay) because something something not wanting to associate with the other purplebloods.

for scar uhhhh. i just think he fits rlly well as a jade. cannot explain why. maybe it's lanque but he just gives me male jade vibes. also jellie is his lusus and thats important and everyone needs to know this. his whole story with jellie is kinda like crytum and platycat (if u havent played all of sbb, he never had a lusus and then got a cat one for emotional support after moving to the stronghold). scar's horns r also based off allay wings and i think they r rlly cool :D

i made mumbo a gold and i was gonna make his eyes red like redstone, but i thought he fit more like jentha with whatever the fuck she had going on. his horns r supposed to be redstone torches. dunno where he fits in the present though (ie second edit) maybe he died idk.

i have less 2 say abt ren and martyn since i dont remember much from 3l but i am so insane abt them. ren as a rust and martyn as an indigo :shoutpole: GET THIS. ren takes sestros place as ceo of the world basically but his second in command is on the complete other side of the spectrum. idk if the differing lifespan thing is canon in ve (like it is in aleph null) but it WOULD be funny if it was.

tell me abt untitled document. :3

untitled document is one of my 1000 btvs dsmp aus. in this specific au, tommy plays the role of buffy (a vampire slayer, including demons and all the forces of evil blah blah blah) and wilbur plays the role of giles (something called a watcher, who is basically a mentor to the vampire slayer) and like. basically wilbur works at tommy’s highschool as a librarian and schlatt is the principal of the highschool. schlatt and wilbur have personal beef, and schlatt also kind of has beef with tommy bc tommy is always doing some shit with demons and schlatt blames him for the damages and shit. quackity is also there Occasionally but he’s just schlatt’s fiance who schlatt sometimes sends in to annoy wilbur.

okay this got kind of long so plot and such under cut

and the plot is basically, schlatt’s nephew tubbo has moved in with him and is being sent to the highschool and everyone is wary and doesn’t want to be his friend bc well. he’s the principal’s son, and also the principal is a bitch. but basically, schlatt makes wilbur and tommy give tubbo a tour of the school (for tommy he says it’s community service) but doesn’t want to be there so he makes quackity take tubbo. so wilbur is already malding, though tommy’s fine with it him and quackity get on fine.

but yeah so all that happens and then quackity finds out something really fucked up schlatt did and starts like yelling at him bc schlatt was hiding in his office for a dramatic reveal and they’re shouting at each other and wilbur somehow gets involved i dont fucking know so tubbo and tommy sneak off together and immediately bond and are besties forever.

anyway. for like a few months it’s just like this. tommy and tubbo besties, vampire slaying, schlatt being principal, etc etc. and then, suddenly, the world is exactly the same except quackity is the principal and schlatt never existed.

in this reality, quackity and wilbur are still combative but they have similar. values? as authority figures in the highschool than schlatt and wilbur ever did, so they squabble and have problems but it’s not As bad. and their relationship actually kind of develops uhh. normally? for them anyway.

but yeah so quackity has a fairly good relationship with most everyone, vice and cabinet 🔛🔝, until one day tommy is in the graveyard on patrol for vampires/demons and sees quackity getting graveyard dirt and being really sus. and he’s like erm… what the scallop? and he goes to wilbur about it because this is weird as FUCK except erm well he learns that wilbur is actually going on a date with quackity and tommy has kind of been vouching for this for a while and it’s only a POSSIBILITY that quackity is doing some weird evil shit and doesn’t want to ruin it for wilbur.

so he tells tubbo! and him and tubbo do some recon while wilbur and quackity are on their date. which is btw actually going well! until tommy finds some insane fucking shit aka a whole human heart in quackity's office and calls wilbur and is like "HEY. HEY. ARE YOU DEAD" and wilbur's like "no why would i be dead im actually having a nice time what are you-" and tommy's like "HE'S A FREAK HE'S KEEPING HUMAN HEARTS AND GRAVEYARD DIRT" and . yeah. so wilbur has to pretend to be so fucking normal. but that's fine bc quackity actually has to be home before 12 so after tommy's call they both are basically like "SO I HAVE TO GO"

and when quackity like. gets home, tommy watches him go into his office and is pretty sure he hears quackity open the box tommy found the box in and then eating. so he is flipping shit. and so is tubbo. and so is wilbur. there is a LOT of flipping shit here.

and then eventually tommy tries to figure shit out blah blah blah quackity ends up like. tying them all up and being like "OKAY. OKAY. FUCKING LISTEN TO ME OKAY. IM NORMAL YOU'RE THE FREAKS HERE." actually this is one of the few scenes i've written so just keep in mind it's unedited as hell

“Listen, I’m sorry, this isn’t how it was supposed to go.”

“Comforting,” Tommy says in a slow, sarcastic tone. He tugs at the rope around his wrists, almost impressed with how well they’re tied if they weren’t around his fucking wrists. In the chair next to him, Wilbur is looking at the ground with a scowl. Apparently he’s chosen to be useless because his boyfriend turned out to be a little evil.

“If you hadn’t been in that fucking graveyard-”

“Sort of my job!”

“I know! I know, and- and it was fine, right? For a little while it was perfectly fucking fine.”

Tubbo cuts in, angry, “Because you erased our memories.”

“I didn’t-” Quackity puts a hand to his head and sighs, rough. “Your memories weren’t fucking erased. Well, Tubbo, yours kind of were.”

“Well that’s alright then! So long as it was only mine!”

“This is why I didn’t want to erase your fucking memories! Harder to explain when I’m the only asshole who knows what’s going on.”

Wilbur finally speaks, “And what exactly is going on, Quackity?”

“There was a man. A shitty fucking man, that Tubbo and I got rid of.”

“What?” Tubbo asks, incredulous. “I didn’t-”

“You asked me to take your memories of him too, because you didn’t think you’d be able to keep it from Tommy.” Tubbo looks thoughtful at that. Tommy thinks it’s bullshit.

“Tubbo wouldn’t kill anyone,” he says. Although, a week ago he thought Quackity wouldn’t kill anyone either.

“Helps when a Dreamon’s at your disposal.”

Wilbur asks, “Why was he shitty? Why did he deserve to die, Quackity? You’ll understand if I don’t take your fucking word for it.”

“If you remembered Schlatt you’d understand.”

“Well, I don’t! You took that from me!”

“Wait, if it’d be easier if we remembered, why’d you make us forget?” Tommy asks.

“Because this is my fucking life, okay? Schlatt doesn’t fucking deserve it! I’m not gonna live in his fucking shadow, I’m not gonna just be what he could’ve been, it’s mine.”

“You took his life. You just- what, bodysnatched him?”

“No! Fuck no, I like having a working liver, actually. This world? It’s just what it’d be if he never existed. Everything he had was because I fucking gave it to him. He was an opportunity-seeker.”

“And you were an opportunity?” Wilbur asks. Quackity glowers.

“The biggest one he got.”

“If this is just the world without Schlatt, why do we still know each other?” Tubbo asks. Quackity actually pauses at that.

“What?”

“You and me, we’re not related, are we?” Quackity opens his mouth but closes it with a frown. “Whoever Schlatt is, we were?”

“You were his nephew.”

“And I killed him?”

“You helped me summon a demon to kill him.”

“A Dreamon,” Wilbur specifies with annoyance.

“A Dreamon,” Quackity repeats with that same annoyance. “Look, I’m the only one who pays a price, okay? I made sure of that.”

Tommy says, “And Schlatt.”

“And Schlatt,” Quackity repeats.

“And all the people you killed.”

“I didn’t kill anyone,” Quackity defends himself quickly. “Sure, I’ll take the blame for Schlatt, but I didn’t-”

“I saw you!” Tommy shouts. “I saw you with the heart!”

“I-” Quackity gets a look of something on his face, like he’s been caught, and Tommy feels the shittiest vindication he ever has. “That’s the price. Every day, I have to eat Schlatt’s heart. Some stupid fucking Prometheus thing, alright?”

“Then why has there been a murder and subsequent snatching of the heart every fucking night for two months?”

“There’s been a what?” There’s silence as the three of them stare at Quackity who no longer looks caught, but stricken. It gives Tommy a glimmer of hope that sure, yeah, his good friend and pal may have lied and manipulated him, but at least he maybe wasn’t fucking killing people.

Before anyone can say anything else, the air leaves the room. The Dreamon returns, looking like it’s laughing even as the vibe turns solemn.

but yeah. so quackity is under the impression he's eating schlatt's heart every day but the dreamon was actually killing people and shit. and he ends up resetting the world back to how it was. schlatt is still dead bc well. the dreamon killed his ass. but quackity is no longer the principal and he's in a similar boat he was before, just sans-schlatt. which tbf is not the worst boat, he has their house and plenty of money and shit. and tubbo also remembers now and is like "damn my bad bossman" but basically quackity ends up getting a job as a history/social studies teacher at the highschool.

and this is just part one of the fic LMFAO. like it's just the lead-in fr. a lot of other shit happens and wilbur and quackity have an annoying slowburn after the pretty quick get together bc well wilbur is being really really petty about the whole "erasing memories" thing <- his issues start off genuine that is a very large like. violation of trust however it DOES end up just being petty once he forgives quackity bc he's like mad as hell that he forgives quackity. also tbh quackity was right fr...

anyway. also dream becomes the principal after this. and also there's this prophecy that they hear/find that wilbur becomes convinced is about him. and also eret shows up at some point to take over wilbur's job and wilbur is MALDING like fucking crazy (eret betrayed the watcher's council ages ago but she redeemed herself and phil let them back in btw phil is like head of the watcher's council and wilbur definitely does not have severe daddy issues about all of this). anyway sorry for dropping so much about that story my ass is never writing it so.

oh man also on the tnt date wilbur has kind of an moment where he makes the suggestion of quackity meeting phil . before realizing that’s an insane thing to suggest on a first date. except quackity is “gets engaged on the first date” vibes so this is kind of a W except later when wilbur is in his malding era quackity is kind of a bitch about this like every time wilbur’s being especially bitchy quackity’s like “right so that’s why you asked me to meet your dad on the first date” and wilbur wants to kill quackity and himself

and at some point phil comes to visit and wilbur is like DEDICATED to quackity and phil not meeting. they do end up meeting and not liking each other very much which is momentarily kind of devastating to wilbur but then he realizes it's really really fucking funny.

also at some point wilbur gets fired bc the watcher’s council want wilbur to like. drug tommy without telling him so he loses his slayer powers to put him through a test/trial. but wilbur starts to do it, dedicated to his duty/father, but ends up not being able to and telling tommy and his ass gets fired. and that’s when eret comes in. and also tommy is kind of mad as fuck for a little while bc wilbur did do the first part like tommy did get drugged and lose his powers but wilbur couldn’t do the whole. tossing tommy in there and letting him possibly die part. and so tommy’s feeling like well the person he trusts most in this world did this awful thing to him. but also wilbur gave up like his entire life to keep tommy safe. so it’s a bit confusing.

also tommy and wilbur live together in this au bc tommy was kind of a vagabond dude who ended up coming to the hellmouth when he was like 14 and wilbur was like “hi im your watcher! oh you dont have parents or family. um. well i have a guest room.” and yeah. but yeah tommy’s a bit pissed with wilbur for a little while but to him wilbur’s love outweighs his sins blah blah blah. anyway. yeah that’s when eret comes in and wilbur is the joker from the movie the joker.

OH also . wilbur used to be married with a child. and then sally got turned into a vampire and turned fundy into a vampire and wilbur had to kill fundy and sally ended up running off. his dark past or whatever.

i dont remember when wilbur and quackity get together fr. probably a little while after quackity meets phil? i dont fucking know. the timeline in this story is a fucking nightmare.

Joongdok Mercenary x Witch AU : a quick summary and excerpt

Tales coaxed in song and whispers and the lyrics of a half-tone bard. A mercenary in his midnight armour and heavenly demon sword, roaming the lands with a Witch cursed eye. Slaying monsters for a coin and the tail of a forgotten name.

The barkeep trembled in the corner, eyes darting around as she approached the hunched figure in shadows.

“Your ale, sir,” she said, dropping the heavy glass onto the table.

Dark eyes peered up at her, the slighest flash of gold trembled her hands. Silver flipped into them and she almost dropped it in surprise but instincts held true and she traced her fingers across the blemished but shiny surface. A whole silver coin. Her heart thudded heavier. He nodded and she nodded back, quickly retreating to behind the bar.

An undying merc chased by the kingdom? Fine with her so long as he paid.

These are tales of Yoo Joonghyuk the Cursed. A monster-slaying mercenary chased around by the Star Kingdom for whatever God given reason they’re spewing. He doesn’t care all too much, he just wanted to find the Witch who won't let him die.

Excerpt (this is pretty much the ending LMAO but its the only thing I’ve written tbh):

“But weren’t you happy?” the Witch of the End asked, face crestfallen. Shoulders tensed up almost to his ears and arms wrapped around himself. His heavy white sleeves falling down to reveal thin hands and thinner wrists. Looking always like the world was about to strike him down and he’d let it. Still the same as ever.

“Of course,” Yoo Joonghyuk answered, taking another step forward.

The Witch moved back again. He spat out, “Don’t you hate me then? For taking you away from your happiness? For that stupid, foolish curse I cast upon you?”

“No.”

“Liar. How could you not? For I am the Witch of the End, the watcher of the Oldest Dream.”

“I don’t hate you,” Yoo Joonghyuk said. “For I am love. The creation of love, the willing bearer of its curse, the undying and the devotion.”

“Why?” the Witch of the End finally whispered, tears falling down his face. “Why for someone like me?”

Yoo Joonghyuk smiled and watched as the Witch became dazed, eyes widening and mouth falling open. Always so shocked at affection. This foolish, lovable star.

Yoo Joonghyuk thought to himself: Of course, there were a million reasons to love the Witch. The way he talked, the twitch in his eyebrow, the distant gaze as he thought, the way he smiled. Yoo Joonghyuk could explain how endeared he was with the way the Witch read books, hoarded them like the worst of dragons but they’re never tomes of magic or priceless knowledge, simply the stories where he liked the protagonist. Else he could talk about the long gone memories they held together of just them or them and the world. That bright beautiful happiness and lifetime they shared. There were a million reasons Yoo Joonghyuk could say and none of them would matter. They could all vanish and he would still love this man before him. Because, in the end, does love deserve a reason? Is it still love if it does?

“Why not?” He answered easily and lifted his hand up to cup the Witch’s face, thumbs brushing away those pearly tears. He pressed a kiss against his brow and then another against closed eyelids. Said at last, “Why not for someone like you?”

“Idiot,” Kim Dokja, the Witch of the End, cried.

The Watcher: I will understand, and I will not care for you any less. Either of you.

Mymbo: I... I missed you.

The Watcher: And I missed the both of you too, to reunite with my Vessels is much more boring without the two of you by my side. You are the only beings that I know aren't me...

Slay the Spire Modern AU information #4: Modern!Watcher

My version of Modern!Watcher is a diviner, due to her scrying abilities in the original game. I really like the idea that she mainly does divination with tea leaf reading and hydromancy, so I give her that. And although she's not an ascetic like her original counterpart, she is also religious, more specifically, she is a Buddhist. She also practices martial arts.

Modern!Watcher is still blind, like the original Watcher, but instead of having a seeing staff, Modern!Watcher has some sort of spiritual sight that helps her "see" spirits, auras and energy. That being said, she "sees" things differently from a normal human; instead of seeing their bodies, she sees their souls and their auras. She "sees" objects through the energy that they give off, and they form clear images in her mind. Kind of the reason why she can do divination using tea leaf reading, and also the explanation on how she reads normal texts too.

She is the stoic and almost emotionless type, showing absolutely no emotions whatsoever. However, she still shows genuine care for people she is close to through actions. She enjoys tea and silence, and she doesn't like loud noises, as well as sharing about herself. She is the wisest and most knowledgeable in the group.

buffy the vampire slayer jemily au (under the cut bc this shit got long)

after years of moving around europe with her ambassador mother, emily prentiss returns stateside during her junior year of high school and is incredibly excited to be a normal teenager for once

that is, until she's cornered by school librarian aaron hotchner who tells her that she's "the chosen one" and he's "her watcher"

emily is actually shockingly willing to believe in vampires and demons and all that, however she absolutely, under no circumstances wants to be the one responsible for dealing with them

she kind of rejects the whole idea until her new friends penelope (in the role of willow rosenberg) and spencer (in the role of xander harris) get attacked by a vampire and she's inexplicably able to stop it

and then she's like i don't like it but i guess this is who i am now??

anyways cut to the end of the school year she dies for like a minute and as such a new slayer is born

jennifer jareau is 15 and from a broken home in rural pennsylvania that she's dying to get out of, and feels like she's been given such a gift when her new soccer coach lets her know that she's the new slayer

does she entirely understand what it entails? no. does it seem like as good a way as any to get out of east allegheny? absolutely

she's super gung ho about the practical slaying part of the job but the theory?? less so

however one day when she's half paying attention she hears her watcher talking about how there's another slayer just a few hours away in DC

so one night after crossing paths with a particularly heinous demon that ends up killing her watcher, jj flees to DC to track down this other slayer

jj and emily clash a little bit when jj first gets to DC

emily thinks jj's a little too impulsive with her hit first, ask later strategy and jj frankly thought emily would be a little cooler

however the more time jj spends training with emily and hotch the more emily sees the desperation under jj's tough exterior

conversely, the more time jj spends around emily the more jj understands why emily tends to keep her head down, since this is the first time in basically her entire life she hasn't been under a microscope

after jj's been in DC for a few months, emily's like "wait you've been here a while and are living in this incredibly shitty motel...isn't anyone looking for you?" and jj's kind of like "lol not really"

Watchers being Good Parents

Our newest Watcher's name was Grian.

He was not born a Watcher like all of us were in those days. No, he was born human. He lived on a world that him and the other inhabitants called Evo, short for Evolution. A world only possible with our abilities.

It was only natural that they knew of us, because of how strong our influence was. As it became clear that the one the others called "Grian" had the potential to become one of ours, we studied both his interactions with other Evolutionists and the way humans on other worlds interacted to make sure we could support him as best as we could.

We watched as his Empire grew.

We watched as him and his fellow Evolutionists decoded our riddles.

We watched him slay the dragon.

Then, as he entered the portal to return to his world, we revealed ourselves. At first, he was afraid, and suspicious upon discovering that we were the ones who laid the riddles. However, he agreed to join us.

We gave him sleeping quarters and let him rest, as the fight with the dragon had exhausted him. The next morning, he asked us where his friends were. We apologised and told him that only one of his friends had any kind of potential to become a Watcher, but we had left her with the other Evolutionists.

She had such a small chance of succeeding. We figured it would be kinder, really. Grian had lived so far from the others for so long we had thought that he wouldn't mind.

We were wrong. He yelled and cried and pleaded, until eventually, we summoned PearlescentMoon to join us.

"Pearl!"

"Grian? You're a Watcher? What's going on here?" The pair embraced, Grian explaining everything to his friend. He was happier after that.

Not as happy as he had been on Evo though.

When we asked him why, he said he missed the others, especially Taurtis. We were confused. Grian and Taurtis nearly went to war. On other worlds we had Watched in preparation for Grian's (and now Pearl's) arrival, war was a terrible, sad thing, full of danger and death. But to Grian and the others, war was fun and pranks and games with friends and enemies alike.

We accelerated Grian and Pearl's training after that, allowing them to Watch their old friends, though they were not quite strong enough to return.

Before they could grow stronger, Evo simply vanished.

There had been signs, but we had ignored them, daring to hope for the sake of our two "children" for lack of a better word. Both of them were understandably devastated. They trained hard, but eventually both of them realised that our way of life was not for them. Grian left first.

He came to us quietly, one night, and told us that he wished to leave us, to go to a new world and make a home among the people there. We agreed, finding a world that we believed would suit him. It was known as Hermitcraft VI. We taught Grian how to hide his Watcher form, and choose when to reveal it. Then, we opened a portal and sent him to his new home so he would arrive with the others.

We still check in on him regularly. Hermitcraft has been through many iterations since, now on its ninth. Eventually, Pearl joined him on the eighth iteration. They are both happier than they ever were with us.

We miss them, of course, but we would never have forced them to stay with us.

Whoo, that turned out a bit longer than expected. I didn't really factor the life series into this...AU? The Good!WatchersAU, because I wasn't sure how to fit the ending of 3rd life into the image of the Watchers being really good parents. If anyone has any ideas, let me know.

Oh, and of course, @eliastheownerof16axolotls. This one's for you. I don't know you IRL at all, I just saw your post and decided to make an AU out of it.
