Now, the fellowship was really a mix of people who were somehow coneccted to each other, like Aragorn and Legolas knew each other and Gandalf. The hobbits are family to each other (and do NOT get me started on Sam and Frodo bcs I will lose it) and Boromir also knew Gandalf.

But the best is Gimli looking at Frodo after his dad told him how he had to endure his king (relative) for MONTHS pinning over a hobbit who, by destiny, is the uncle of the same hobbit whom he has to protect

Bagginsheild Collegiate Rowing Au??

So I was thinking abt this in the shower after jumping off the slip with my rowing friends and had to sprint downstairs to post it lol

Anyway, the premise is as follows:

Bilbo gets dragged into joining Arda College's rowing team as a coxswain by Gandalf against his will because he's light, loud and has no reservations about roaring the ear off someone

Thorin has been rowing for years and was trained by his grandfather, father and Balin since he was a kid

Erebor is the club that Thror used to be president of, until Smaug usurped him when he was beginning to lose it a bit and immediately put all the facilities behind an expensive pay wall for everyone, except for his chosen few, nicknamed the Orcs

Thorin is dead set on beating the Orcs and is immediately suspicious of Bilbo

Bilbo has no fucking clue why he's there and why the hot guy in seat 5 keeps glaring daggers at him everytime he makes a call

Thorin can't tell his port from his starboard for the life of him (me too man me too) which leads to a lot of back and forth between him and the cox

Bofur in seat 2 leading the whole boat in sing alongs

Thorin warms up to Bilbo very slowly and awkwardly

Obligatory 'throwing the cox in at the end of the race' scene

Fanart for this may be incoming, but I don't know if I'll ever write it (maybe if I get enough people interested) and although I do row, I don't do collegiate rowing so please excuse any inaccuracies!!!
