It's funny to think that a lot of MDZS readers regard Wen Qing-Wen Ning as direct cousins with Wen Xu-Wen Chao, so whenever something happen with the Wen Direct members, some fanfic writers always make up a plot that it will be Wen Qing who inherit the throne.

But they are not. They're a branch family. Being nephews or Nieces to Wen Ruohan is just the general position, but the distance from the main line is who knows how long it is.

There are cousins you will never meet for the rest of your lives, even for modern Asians, let alone ancient BIG Clan. Even for strangers from thousands of miles away, they could be your cousin from something and another ancestry.

Remember how Wen Chao didn't even recognize Wen Ning? Aside from Wen Chao's self-centered personality, it's also proof that Wen Qing's family should have little to no interaction to the main branch of the Wen Clan. Wen Qing was known due to her talent. Not because how close their family branch is to the main family.

What I mean is that, even if something did happen to the Wen Clan direct family, it will be still a long way to come for Wen Qing let alone Wen Ning to inherit the position of a Leader. There should still be Seniors from generation above her who have more rights and closer to the main branch in inheritor line. No matter how popular or how important Wen Qing's job is in the Sect.

Because QishanWen is not a Sect but a Clan. Their inheritance system is not based on ability but blood relationship.

Wei Wuxian: Very enthusiastic, hopefully he won't end up detaching your arm from your shoulder

Lan Wangji: Polite but cold, brief and firm

Lan Xichen, Xiao Xingchen, Lan Sizhui: Smiling, pretty normal

Jiang Cheng & Jin Ling: Awkward, somewhat grumpy, extends two fingers

Jiang Yanli: Gentle but cheerful, will also ask how are you

Nie Huaisang: "H-Hi! Nice to meet you!" Kinda flustered and clumsy

Jin Zixuan: *disdain*

Jin Guangyao: Smiling, will most likely figure out how you feel most comfortable for a handshake

Wen Qing & Song Lan: Quite regular, though a little distant/cold

Wen Ning: Awkwardly polite, rather shy

Xue Yang: Breaks/hurts your hand while shaking it

A-Qing: Extends two fingers while looking at you suspiciously

Lan Jingyi: Informal, very energetic

Ouyang Zizhen: More on the cheerful side, a little more energetic

Favorite Feral Lan Wangji Moments:

- Punching down several trees after kissing his crush (derogatory) for the first time because he has no idea how to process emotions normally

- Randomly biting Wei Wuxian in the cave because he has no idea how to process emotions normally

- Getting absolutely shit faced for the first time in his life and destroying a bunch of shit around cloud recesses before branding himself with the mark his crush from 10 years ago also had because he- well you get it.

- Writing an entire love song for his crush, naming it their ship name, and then only ever singing it out loud once to said crush without him knowing (this is an important tool we'll save for later)

- Generally enjoying being a little shit and then pretending he didn't do anything when people confront him about it

#poorly drawn mdzs #mdzs #wen qing #wen ning #jiang cheng #wei wuxian #In the audio drama she quite literally opens the door and then leaves after seeing them without breaking conversation.#It is both so impressive and deeply funny to me.#I imagine her just literally pivoting in one foot and walking right out.#She came home after a long day at work and in 0.5 seconds went “I would rather go back to the office than deal with this right now”.#Besides tickling me to near tears - this scene is also a great introduction to Wen Qing - her first instinct is to protect!#She lives by the code of 'I don't care who you are - if you need help I will lend it.' a true doctor and professional.#Sure she is *mad* that Wen Ning puts himself (and her to a lesser extent) at risk by helping 'the enemy' but she gives in quick.#I love Wen Qing a lot - she is such an unsung hero in this story.#Sorry that her first appearance on this blog was...what it was. thinking about the dynamic between wei wuxian and wen ning where they are neither platonic nor romantic but a secret third thing. as close as only someone who died and someone who summoned them back could be. familiar like a body part is familiar. physically intimate, but in a "held him while his stomach was cut open to carve the golden core out" or "put his ribs back into his broken chest and gave his body permission to take revenge" way. sharing a bond so deep it becomes unsettling. wielding someone like a weapon/allowing yourself to be wielded. saving each other over and over again to the point where you can't keep track of all the sacrifices and the debts don't matter anymore. suffering from wounds no one else can understand, missing people no one else remembers. neither of them chose this, yet both are still there for each other no matter what. i am so normal about them

At this point i just live and breathe drama behind the scene pictures, especially The Untamed since they are so funny- It's chaotic. How on earth did they manage to film it in time?

All jokes aside, the whole cast is just amazingly talented and it's a shame that aside from Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo, no one else has really "skyrocketed". There are so many talented people who deserve better roles, leading roles even.
