Hearing nonvegans talk about veganism is so tiring, no tolerance or reason whatsoever in these people.
I think a vegan echo chamber is necessary for my sanity bc I’m this close to just biting people when they say anti-vegan shit

An unexpected aspect of the vegan community that I really appreciate is the amount of love for African food.
I’m so used to hearing non-African people refer to African food as disgusting, it was surprising to hear some of y’all express genuine love for some of their dishes.
Surprising but very welcome - I am tired of the hate towards African culture from everyone, even other non-African black people.
Idk, it’s just so refreshing!

Yeah I must be living in luxury, being able to afford beans B) I’ve also been injured since 2014, have chronic pain, and several unexplained health issues but I’m sure it’s because one vegan meal minimum 1,000$. Occasionally I spit up blood (in my Ferrari!!!!!!)
(Sarcasm, of course)
The amount of people who assume vegans/vegetarians MUST be wealthy and/or live very luxurious lives is fucking ridiculous

Hey just wondering!! Are you actually male? The pronouns in bio suggest you’re a tif and I would like to know if you’re like a normal one or one of the homophobic ones or if you’re actually just a gay male
Depends, what makes you the most uncomfortable with me? Because that’s the answer.
Go fuck yourself :D

I had a few key moments that made me finally decide to pursue veganism
Firstly was at the dinner table, when my younger sibling and I were talking about non-human animal diseases, and how they kill. My older brother said “I don’t want to hear about dead animals at the dinner table”… we were eating chicken.
Second was thinking about my/our pets - I have a rabbit, my family have dogs. I thought to myself, if someone was hungry and decided to shoot our animals for food, why would I be upset if not because they just ended an innocent creatures life? And why wouldn’t that apply to all the “farm” animals in the world?
Third was just realizing how unfair humans are in the animal kingdom. If an animal attacks a human, they likely get killed or otherwise punished - they cannot fight back. And it’s often a defense mechanism, humans have forced the creatures hand. Humans kill animals en masse, animals who can never fight back. In the wild they are at least allowed to fight back, but in the human world some creatures just have to watch as they wait for their turn to get their throat slit. Disgusting.

It could just be a coincidence but ever since I became a veg animals have been readily approaching me more often
I’ve made physical contact with squirrels for the first time ever, I held a crow for a while (omg??) also a mourning dove, and I keep getting followed by cats and doves
Perhaps I am beginning my transformation into a Disney princess ✨

The unfortunate thing about being a gay veg is now I must live with having been given a truly nasty form of homophobia. Why must it be like this u_u

It feels like a lot of anti-vegan arguments are only kind of viable if we still lived in the medieval ages

I feel like the ideas of veganism intersect so readily with other forms of activism, that it becomes a special kind of hypocrisy to advocate against them.
