rvb: when characters go through severe enough trauma sometimes they can fragment into different elements of themselves in order to protect their mental stability and the alters fragments have their own quirks and aspects that relate to the trauma that was inflicted in order to best protect the sanity of the character but still all belong to the same personality

So in the last couple days, several people have reblogged a couple of my recent posts saying that they were the only i/p posts they were going to reblog, and at least a couple people have seriously reconsidered their understanding of what Zionism actually means.
And honestly? It makes dealing with the antisemitic trolls and the bait asks and the rude drive-by comments worth it. You can't hurt my feelings in a way that matters because my words are reaching people in warmth and comfort and peace, and that matters so much more.
If I reach even one person and help them to be kinder and encourage them to make a positive difference, it will have been worth it. It is worth it.

Tbh, nothing has made me sympathize more with Kipperlilly Copperkettle than her anger issues.
Cause anger is an emotion we feel when we're missing something. When we need something and can't get it. It's a balm to make us feel better when things don't go our way.
When things aren't fair.
#d20#dimension 20#d20 fantasy high#fantasy high junior year#d20 spoilers#fhjy#fantasy high spoilers#of course just cause you feel like things are unfair doesnt mean they actually are#and the reason why its an anger issue is cause the anger has befome detrimental#its warped from being somethjng to comfort you when you feel powerless to a tool you use against others when you fedl slighted#part of why anger issues are so hard to overcome is cause of how good it feels in the moment#even if you feel terrible guilt afterwards#the catharsis of releasing anger can be such a relief#that you dont even realise youve started looking for reasons to be angry#youre listing things that are terrible with the world just so you can feel better by getting angry at them#things like capitalism and people who bullied you and how your boss is a terrible racist#things that everyone can get angry over#until they get more personal and warps your judgment#“my boss called a group of immigrant a bunch of racial slurs” “his secretary was there too she can back me up”#“when i brought it up with her she says she wasnt payjng attention or something” “shes peobably racist too and thats why he hired her”#it becomes easier to make jumps like that instead of giving people the benefit of the doubt#easier to justify your anger with the smallest slights#until youre yelling at a pedestrian whe. you almost ran them over#“sure it was a red light but they shouldve paid attention and seen me coming too”#anyways this is all to say kipperlilly probably has some issues to deal with#idk if shes actually behind this plot or if shes being manipulated#doesmt stop her from being a total dick tho#but it does make me a little more sympathetic to her

I think it's deeply unfortunate that conversations about "representation" have become dominated by the issue of gay representation and That's It. I'm someone who thinks mainstream gay representation matters, but I also understand why it's easy for so many people to go "well I don't NEED boring lame high school romcoms for LOSERS. The only 'representation' I need is like, idk, weird furry comics made by the fagdykes online! Become unmarketable!" when the only issue on the table for them is sexuality. But I think it's not useful to take that mindset and apply it to "representation" as a broader concept, because in my experience at least it becomes quite different when the issue is less "the only mainstream representation for me is something I find kind of boring" and more "I don't think I have ever seen a person who Looks like me be presented in mainstream media in a positive or desirable light" (which applies to all sorts of stuff including trans stuff, body stuff, disability stuff, race/ethnicity stuff, etc.) Obviously I love subcultures and I love niches and I love Finding Community With Other Freaks or whatever, obviously I love that! But I also, as someone who is of Many Overlapping Marginalized Identities, Kind of want to see people who look and act and live like me be presented as People. Visibly trans characters who have things going on besides just experiencing transphobia or gender dysphoria, openly Latino characters who have things going on besides just experiencing racism or xenophobia, neurodivergent or mentally ill or socially disabled or whatever characters who have things going on besides being Weird or Creepy for the sake of a joke, chubby or fat characters who have things going on besides being demonized or mocked or A Message About Body Positivity. Characters who are People, the way like. normie white guy characters get to be lmao, and not just tools to teach some kind of lesson. "You shouldn't look for that in mainstream media/pop culture" well why not? Why shouldn't a culture's popular media represent the people that make up that culture? Not everyone is an online 20something attuned to the best queer indie art of the decade, yknow, and people who exist outside of our subcultures deserve "representation" too. Ever since I was a little kid I had an affinity for openly Latino characters on TV or in books, and that hasn't gone away. Different kinds of people Exist and deserve to be seen in art that isn't relegated to being "alternative" or "niche." Because while I am alternative, it's not my body or my upbringing or my social problems that make me that way. No human being should be considered a "deviation from the norm." Don't let art and culture forever belong to those who have deemed themselves "the norm" through continued subjugation

Hi! Sorry, the way OFMD handled quite a few things is, in fact, ableist.
And it's important that people are pointing it out so that we can hold the media/creators that we love accountable for things like this, and they can do better in the future.
So, out the gate I'm going to say this: Yes, this is in relation to the Current Discourse™. No, it has nothing actually to do with the very common headcanon that Izzy's got some actual chronic illness or a gastrointestinal disability in canon, so much as the idea that mocking very common symptoms of those issues - even if, in the context of said mocking, it isn't caused by or related to those kinds of issues - is ableist.
For a non-OFMD example: Consider two people doing poorly in their classes, one has a developmental disability and the other maybe just isn't interested in the subject. It's still just as ableist to call the latter 'retarded' as it is to call the former that.
And so the show not challenging those ideas (in a similar way, I might add, to Stede's deriding/mocking Izzy's prosthetic when he was mad at him going unaddressed) does mean it's ableist/enabling ableism. Even if that isn't the intent, it's the impact that matters, and people with disabilities (or who's disabilities share some of the experiences mentioned/depicted) like those that are portrayed in the show the way they are are saying those portrayals hurt them and are ableist.

my problem with anduin's new look isn't the grime or the hair or the beard, i agree it makes sense for him to have those, it's that it has zero connection to his old cinematics model 😭😭 like..... if you compare the two carefully his eyebrows are completely different, his cheeks are less pronounced, his button nose is gone, his hair is darker for no reason etc. idk he used to have a more stylized and unique look to him and now he just looks like every male action protagonist ever
I don't know how to explain this to you and I don't want to be mean about this, I'm trying really hard not to come off that way, but both time and stress ages a person. Anduin was absent for three years having horrific PTSD from when he was dominated and was roughing it on his own. Eyebrows grow, he's probably dehydrated from being in a desert wasteland, he never even had a button nose to begin with, and hair darkens naturally overtime.
The complaint that he looks like "every male action protagonist ever" is so bizarre to me, and one said by a lot of people. As it turns out, white boys tend to grow up and look like white men, and when the bar for looking like a white man is "short hair and a beard," you trip over that easily.
Did you expect him to never age at all ever? Or is this a case of you guys being trapped in your "progressive" gender stereotypes that the moment a guy that isn't traditionally masculine doesn't shave for a week it means he's a completely different person now?

i didn’t even want to go there, but y’know what? every single person who isn’t L, G, B, or T who explicitly mocks and maligns LGBT people who are uncomfortable with (or even acknowledges!) the word “queer” as a slur needs to shut the fuck up immediately.
this isn’t me saying “if you aren’t LGBT you’re not allowed to be part of or have a say in our community”, it’s me saying “people whose identities are more visible and more historically targeted probably have a more accurate say as to how words are being used against them”. i’m getting really tired of hearing nonbinary aroace teenagers declare that “gay is a slur too”, which is laughably untrue and out of touch.
“queer” did not start as an identity, it started as a negative adjective and an insult. it became an identity for many, but that doesn’t mean that some people still aren’t using it as an insult. i’m not “erasing queer identity” by acknowledging that queer is a slur, YOU are erasing queer history by outright denying the reality of many LGBT people. you are erasing the pain and trauma that people of your community went through. what’s so “trans-exclusionary radical feminist” about pointing that out?????
