we're witnessing the downfall of Eurovision. All this for a "country" that's not even a part of Europe.

It's so obvious that it was rigged towards Sweden. A previous winner (trying to bank off nostalgia) with an generic pop song (Normie bait), the jury giving them an obscene amount of votes and then constantly going on about ABBA's 50 year anniversary of them winning (very convenient for marketing).

Finnish people have gone absolutely crazy with Eurovision this year. Some towns have changed their coat of arms to look like Käärijä for this week. Statues are being dressed up in the iconic green bolero. Grocery stores are selling Käärijä buckets that have pinã colada ingredients in them. And now people have started selling completely random green things on this online marketplace called Tori.fi and labeling them as "Käärijä themed" and it is the funniest thing ever

Would eurovision be eurovision if the Finnish entry didn't leave you questioning what on earth you were watching?

I just learned that Moroccanoil, the Big Eurovision ambassador whose name is plastered literally everywhere EBU related, is not a Moroccan company but an Israeli one. Not only does Israel dump a lot of money into Eurovision, but they dump even more through Moroccanoil. That's why they haven't been kicked out in spite of committing a genocide against the Palestinian people (+ causing security concerns in Malmö and harassing other participants).
I'm saying this in case anyone consumes Moroccanoil. If you want to boycott the products from that genociding monster, don't buy anything from Moroccanoil.
Also, stream Hinds Hall. All proceeds go to UNRWA

Something which I've seen as a trend with pro Palestine activism, is things which are not Palestine specific are being treated as if they are.
For example, this Instagram post below was made
Tumblr media
The thing is, the Palestinian flag specifically is not banned. The rule in its entirety is that non participating countries cannot have their flag present at the event. The rule is also an old rule which still is in place.
Yes, the Palestinian flag cannot be present, but also the Aotearoa/New Zealand flags, the US flag, Tunisia flag, etc, can also not be present.
This is not a rule which is specifically in place for Palestine.
And it's all part of a wider trend of rules/things which apply to multiple countries are being seen as targeting Palestine specifically.
It is also disinformation, fear mongering and even at times antisemitism when people act like (((zionists))) are controlling the world.
This is why it's important, as with anything you see on social media, to do your own research. Find the facts and ignore things which are intentionally maliciously misworded.

Everything will be alright.
requested? yes, somewhere in my comments!
words? idk, but short and sweet for today.
genre? sickeningly sweet fluff, comfort
summary: you're coming home after one of those days where everything is terrible only to fall into the arms of your loving boyfriend.
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
Today was downright terrible. There was no way of sugar coating anything or trying to think of a positive moment- it was straight up horrible. It all started with oversleeping because your boyfriend wasn't able to wake you up like usual, seen as he had early appointments, and of course you forgot to set an alarm. This meant you couldn't leave in time to avoid the morning traffic jam, causing you to arrive late- and from there on everyone just tried to test your patience, making your 8h work day seem like 12h.
Now that the horror finally came to an end and you were driving home in total silence with only half of your mind focusing on the road, just praying that Joost had already ordered you dinner. Usually he was the one to cook dinner so you could eat right when you got home from work, considering he did most of his work from home and had more time to do so, and you cherished that so much but today you needed the satisfaction of overspending on an Uber Eats delivery for a burger, or a pizza- or really anything.
"I'm home." you spoke out once you entered the shared apartment, kicking off your shoes into the same corner that you just banished your jacket and bag into. The fact you hadn't received an answer to your words was both confusing and alarming, considering you were usually greeted by instant kisses- as if he was waiting for you like a dog. However the smell of pizza filled the entire apartment, the big lights all turned off, only the comfortable dimmed lights filling the space. When you finally made it to the living room after instantly changing your clothes you felt your heart melt away.
Your boyfriend was smiling from ear to ear, his body wrapped up in a blanket, another one set next to him. "I saw the mess this morning, and you barely replied to my tests, so I assumed today was-" you cut him off in his words, letting yourself fall into his lap only to have his arms wrap around you. The familiar scent of his cologne filled your nose, the setting sun was bouncing right off of his beautiful blonde hair, his eyes as in love with you as day one- you could cry from how happy you were to see this view again.
Without breaking the comfortable silence he began carefully covering you in another blanket as you nuzzle your face into the crook of his neck, soaking in all the comfort you can get. He didn't say anything, nothing that was faking positivity or was trying to be uplifting, he just stroked your back, left kisses on the top of your head and made sure you knew you were loved. "This is just one day out of many, sweetheart." Joost whispered to you, feeling you attempt to nod while your head remained burried in his neck.
"I promise you, everything will be okay."

Palestinians, along with BDS, literally told people to boycott Eurovision.
Shame on the people watching it, and shame on the people who want the genocidal settler colony to win Eurovision.
