Thoughts on dot and bubble
In the beginning I felt a little sorry for Pepperbean, because I think we've all been there. Ever tried to navigate to a new place without Google maps? Ever had to call and schedule something over the phone? Yeah, that's how it felt. Putting your bubble down and getting outside of it. It's scary
She's also like an iPad Adult. She was pretty rude when Ruby and the doctor told her to turn the bubble off.
Are we sure that this was just something written by Russel T Davies and it's not another Harry Styles fanfic written by a Teenage girl, turned into something new just by changing the names?
But then, it immediately turned anti-fanfic.
I am sad to report that I didn't fully realize the significance of that ending at first. I thought it was just a classist thing, so I asked my husband and he said it was also a racist thing and then I was like Ooooh...yeaaah... And all the people at Fine Time were wh-...ahhh...🫤. I felt stupid there. That hit pretty deep though.
Overall, a very good episode.

I’m autistic/adhd, I used to yell and scream and meltdown, I used to be mute, I have a “short attention span” I am all those things. And I used an iPad, but I was all those things prior, I had always been.

People who blame kids not going outside anymore on technology will never cease to make me laugh.
First of all, the outdoors today compared to what it was even just as little as 10 years ago? Dangerous, disgusting, undesirable, quite frankly terrifying.
Second, if your next argument is going to be “but they won’t even go in the back yard!” I grew up with access to technology. I still played in the backyard all summer and got excited to go sledding on snow days in the winter. Maybe you should rethink your parenting, and how you treat technology with your kids. If you’re shoving an iPad in your kids face every time they cry… Guess what? That child is going to associate that iPad with comfort. They are not going to want to be separated from it. It’s the exact same as a child with a special stuffy they won’t let go of. That item has been attached to the idea of comfort and safety. You did that by not giving them screen time limits, and not parenting properly.
Technology can only be the cause of children not going outside if you let it be. It is 100% caused by your parenting choices.
