I see so many posts talking about how we have to survive to show others that it’s possible. That there’s a future. That there’s a way out. Older trans people have to survive for younger trans kids. People of color have to survive for the next generations. Gay people have to survive to show that we can’t be erased by history. Disabled people have to survive to show the world that they’re just as capable as everyone else- or if they aren’t, that’s okay, and should be accommodated for.
Those of us with “scary” mental illnesses need to survive too. We need to show each other that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. That we can have something close to a normal life. That we’re not destined to end up incarcerated, either in jail or a hospital. That our fate isn’t always to end up on the wrong side of a knife, or a gun, or a rope. That we can have a platform outside of a true crime podcast. That we can be proud despite of it all.

never isolate yourself from people you love just because you think that’s what they would want! don’t listen to the voice in your head telling you they’re better off without you. you are not too much to the people that see just as much value in you as you do them.
treasure your friends, you deserve it!!

“One of the challenges with pain—physical or psychic— is that we can really only approach it through metaphor. It can't be represented the way a table or body can. In some ways, pain is the opposite of language.”
“And we're such language-based creatures that to some extent we cannot know what we cannot name. And so we assume it isn't real. We refer to it with catch-all terms, like crazy or chronic pain, terms that both ostracize and minimize. The term chronic pain captures nothing of the grinding, constant, ceaseless, inescapable hurt. And the term crazy arrives at us with none of the terror and worry you live with.”

Okay so, people who struggle with mental health, suicadal thoughts and inner demons might need something small to be their lifeline. I am thinking about, id we would start making camp necklesses but start whitout beads, and instead of getting one bead every year bc you survived from monsters you survived of mental illness. You add one bead every year on a detirmend date, and you paint one reason that made you stay alive this year on the bead. The neckless can be a fidget toy. And it, if one need just one small thing to live fot, that might be a lifeline?
I asked some of my friends who struggles and they said its a good idea.
Can we please spread this around? I know this will sound like a way to get likes but please reblog! I really hope this can help someone one day.

"Having friends in your head must be so fun!!"
Okay, say it's fun when someone that isn't you takes over your body and decides to do something horrid? Not necessarily a crime, but say, broke up with your lover(s), or cut you off from your entire family.
We're all mentally unstable, at any moment one of us can just decide to commit and it's the end.
It's not fun. It's scary.
Especially because not all of us are "friends", many of us simply get along because we are stuck together.
