i want to read really good fics with Damian → went to ao3 → found bottom!Dami fics → my first reaction was «yuppie!!» → and then i read the fic → ☠️
it was pretty good yeah but it's too much OOC
Damian is arrogant, annoying, harsh, a bit violent and very smart brat and i love him for his entire personality i mostly related to of all robins.

Shang chi and Batman
You know, when I think of Shang Chi in the DC universe, I always inevitably end up with batman, and what they’d think of each other.
And despite the two of them being heroes, I don’t think they’d get off to a good start, specially if Shang chi is all grown up and is already the leader of the five weapons society.
On Shang chi’s part, the reasons are pretty obvious, after all he’s line of ‘games of deceit and death’ are pretty emblematic of the character, and if there’s one character in DC that seems to live in that world more then anyone else is batman. I think Shang chi would be extremely annoyed by Batman’s secretive nature and tendency to manipulate others for the greater good. Deceit and lying is something that he despises, as it reminds him too much of his own father.
Batman, on the other part, wouldn’t trust Shang chi with controlling the five weapons society, and would probably have several countermeasures against him. Maybe he’d also consider him naive on some aspects, while too extreme in others.
Then again... I imagine a younger Shang chi calling Batman out on his bullshit and the other wanting to adopt him inmediately. Because for all I can see where they would clash, I can’t help but see the benefits of a relationship between the two.
As I’ve said, Shang Chi wouldn’t hesitate to call Batman out on his bullshit or oppose him if he thought he was going too far. But I can also see him as understanding Bruce, and offering some wisdom along the way, specially when dealing with complicated family relations which Shang Chi has experience of in spades. (I can kind of imagine Shang Chi confronting Bruce after Jason’s death nd after beating him up offering support, like dragging him to a retreat so that he can recentre himself)
Batman, now, he has a tendency to see young people with tragic backstories and inmediately adopt them into his family. Or awkardly tell them they’re doing good while internally praying they don’t turn evil. Bruce would offer a more morally acceptable father figure to Shang chi, whose current options are ‘evil terrorist overlord who abused him as a kid’ and ‘spy master who while fond of him, doesn’t really take his mental stability into consideration and may not even exist in canon anymore’. It would also be interesting to see how Bruce’s overprotective tendencies would clash with Shang chi’s own extremely independent one.
Idk where it came from, but now I’m just imagining Shang chi as this weird uncle/older brother figure to the bat family who isn’t afraid to tell them all they’re idiots as he tries to teach them healthy coping mechanisms... and now I can’t help imagining Shang chi becomes their quasi psychologist as well.
Idk, I think he’d fit in, with his background in espionage and assassination and extremely competent martial arts skills. He could be a counselour to Bruce, a shoulder to lean on for Dick (since I think they’d be around the same age), an understanding figure to Jason (since Shang chi is more morally grey, willing to kill when necessary), family to Tim... Then the comparisons with Damian and Cass are obvious enough that if anything they’d share an understanding.
Shang chi is a passive, but ultimately good character who’d probably be better of with the batfamily kicking his ass into high gear while he cries about their horrifying mental health. More importantly, it’d give him a chance to have a family where his tis with them aren’t compromised with him being their superior (as the newest comics are), or they being brainwashed by his father (a universal constant) or in a constant fight with them over if being a terrorist and taking over the world is good or not.

I saw that post and unliked nd reblogging it. Like, how are you gonna make a batfam edit but then leave Tim out of it??? Even if you don't like Tim, it still makes no sense to exclude him from the batfamily. He's apart of it.

Yes, obviously Timmy is a member of the batfamily, and as such deserves to be included in batfamily things. And I’m over the moon that we both agree on that point!
But the thought that I’m the reason that someone dislikes another person makes me… a little sad. I know you didn’t say that you disliked the op of that post, but I feel like that’s implied here, at least by the way that you said you un-liked the post.
In the future, if for some reason I ever make any of y’all dislike a certain person, or thing, could you maybe not tell me? I try to not get into discourse (at least not actual discourse, that whole furry debate thing was a crack post), and the only reason that I replied the way I did was because I specifically got called names and got hate in my inbox. In fact, there are still a few things in my inbox that I’m not going to answer because I rather like the thought of the people who sent them looking through my blog for something that’s not there.
But thanks for your support, I guess? I know that sounds really ungrateful of me, but there’s really not another way for me to word that. But I’m glad that we agree about Timmy. I might go back and delete those posts later if I’m being honest, because all that anger feels like a stain on my otherwise happy place. Timothy Drake-Wayne built a lot of his life on secrets. Finding out Batman and Robin's started a spiral of hidden truths that directed his life in a web of secrets he's rather unsure how to even escape. He might be the spider who crafted it, sure, but more often he feels like the bug (bird?) stuck in it.
That was to say, sometimes Tim wishes less of his life was a secret. Sometimes he wishes he could just… Tell people everything.
Wishes he could tell them about sometimes-Red Robin sometimes-Robin. Wishes he could tell them about being trans, instead of being forced to go stealth so early in life and too afraid to stop doing so even with the Drakes dead. Wishes he could tell his family, maybe, about his time with Ra's. Maybe it's more necessary than wishing that he could tell them about his missing spleen.
