Alongside the interview, Alex Hirsch also sent me and Hana each a personalized Gravity Falls drawing made and signed by him. This was mine.

I can now say that Dipper and Mabel have visited Canada and specifically, my home town of Toronto.

I'll probably never own Journal 3 Special Edition. But this imo is even better. There's a pretty funny story that happened regarding this drawing that I'll be sharing in the behind the scenes video I got coming on the channel next month on just how we got this interview to happen.

I also made a scan of it so I have a digital version too!

11 years ago today, on June 15, 2012, the first episode of Gravity Falls aired on TV. In the 11 years since, it has grown to be a truly beloved story, influencing numerous other works since and establishing its place among the best animated series. I didn’t end up watching it until summer 2022, but I’m grateful for how creative, active, and welcoming the fandom continues to be, even years after the show’s finale. The enduring nature of Gravity Falls’ story, popularity, and fandom are a testament to its brilliance. Here’s to 11 more years of staying curious, staying weird, and staying kind!

The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe screengrabs

Alright so the first few are just from replaying all the stuff that was in the HD Remix, just to see some of the texture differences, but I also took some screengrabs just because they’re fun!

There is an awful lot of Bucket death in this game huh. Like, Stanley dies a lot too, but we don’t get to see that usually, so it’s oddly visceral

Best of 2023 TV Shows #18: The Owl House (Disney)

For many the surprise reduction of The Owl House was one of the biggest disappointments of the year.

2 seasons in and the story of Luz Noceda finding her new purpose in the boiling isles under the tutelage of Eda and King while gaining friends in Willow and Gus as well as a girlfriend in Amity made for some groundbreaking and compelling tv.

So it is fitting that the 3 episodes that compose season 3 finish out Luzs journey with a worthwhile finale as she faces off against Belos.

As well as reuniting with her mom while showing her own growth.

It may have been truncated, but we did get a nice finish.

SUM 22: Luz and her friends along with Eda and King face off against Belos for the fate of the Boiling Isles. Hoot hoot.

Words cannot describe how I'm feeling rn. Happy 10 years to Gravity Falls, and Happy 10 to us, since we, too, are 10 years older.

I still can't wrap my head around how I was 8 years old when this show premiered. Now, look at me! Look at you!! Look at us!

I drew this picture with the happy memories of watching it when I was younger and sharing it with the few friends I had. To me, it felt like every episode was the twins taking me on their adventures, and I guess because of serious brainrot and the habit of clinging to nostalgia, I kinda took them along on mine...

Owl House update: I’m at episode 6, and while I find the world and characters really interesting, Luz really sets off my secondhand embarrassment whenever a character is about to get in trouble so I have to take it one step at a time.

The show legitimately does a great job balancing the darkness of the world with the beauty and hope that Luz (and the world too, tbh) has. I love the constant theme of light and stars, with her magic but also with those few shots that emphasize the beauty of the stars from the roof of the Owl House. Especially considering that even something like Steven Universe, which dealt in themes of post trauma and toxic family structures, had a world and background characters who felt ultimately loving and kind. I think there’s something a bit telling about that, in a good way.

Also King is my baby and I love him.
