When I first started Protocol, I assumed Lena would be a pretty major antagonist, scheming and evil, à la Elias. But the further in we get, the more convinced I am that no, she's not. Capable? Dunno. She's pretty obviously withholding information, which, to be fair, so did Elias, but he did it out of a desire to manipulate and yknow, *gestures at TMA S5* - Lena seems to be doing it out of a desire to protect something, whether that's herself or her employees or something else entirely or multiple of those, I don't know. She does seem to care, based on her reaction during her and Gwen's conversation today. In general, she keeps her employees as separate from the horrors as she can, but it seems like it's less out of actual malice and more a way of protecting herself and them. Protecting them from what? Too soon to say. Will it work? I think, to a degree, the answer is yes - but they are, after all, in the Magnus Protocol, and as such their luck is going to run out.

I think the difference between Elias and Lena is that Elias didn't care at all about his employees, but put on a charismatic front and made an effort to come across as likeable, whereas Lena does seem to care, but is absolute dogshit at showing it to any degree.
