Tumblr somehow deleted this story so I had to repost it.....So here I am once again. (Don't let this flop lol)

Pairing: Sinister!Strange x Fem!Reader

Synopsis: It finally here! Your wedding day to Sinister Strange. But he has a few surprises up his sleeve to make your best day ever even better than you could dream.

Word Count: 2.9K

Warnings: None really just tooth rotting fluff, Mutual pining

A/N: This story is somewhat of a self indulgent piece. It came to me one night bc I have always wanted to Waltz, let alone with Mr.Sinister.

Theres references to The Phantom of the Opera & Outlander!!!!

I have a strong headcannon that he is very light on his feet. Plus I can’t help but think of Sinister without Once Upon A Dream playing in my mind.

Steadily pacing around the grand room back and forth with the feeling of butterflies in your stomach, you kept wiping your outstretched hands on your legs because your palms wouldn’t stop sweating. Eyeballing the long A-line black and purple ombre dress hanging off the four-poster bed. Gathering your courage to shuffle towards it, lifting it gently off the plush hanger. The soft taffeta texture along with the outer tulle feeling soft against your skin; fingers gently dancing over the moonstone beads. The constellation patterns embellished on the waistline giving off a shimmer in the light. Tears welling in your eyes, for it was finally your wedding day.

Sure, it wasn’t the ceremony you first envisioned since you were a little girl. The typical tradition of a Church and a huge gathering never resonated with you anyway. But Sinister latched onto your heart and swept you off your feet. He was without question the love of your life. Ever since you arrived in his world you slowly began to change him. His heart thawing like Spring warning away the frosty ice of Winter. You couldn’t wait to become his wife.

Wiping away the gentle tears cascading down your cheeks to slide off the silken nightgown from your shoulders, tossing it to the side. Sliding into the gown gently right foot first, then the left. Zipping up the side of it, the corset snugging all the right places. Taking the extra time to adjust the black lingerie stockings giving them a light snap against your thigh. Tussling your hair slowly walking towards the embellished mirror you couldn’t believe how gorgeous you looked. You really did feel like a true Disney princess. That is, if princesses were into gothic attire.

Strapping on the black wedges to stand upright, making your way back to the four-poster bed reaching for the blood red rose bouquet that was decorated with purple lace. Peaks of white babies’ breath sticking out between them. Grabbing the perfume bottle off the vanity to generously sprits yourself with ‘Into the Night’ perfume. Its delicate amber scent danced around your senses. It was your signature scent and Sinister adored it. His heart always skipping a beat when walking into a room and knowing you where just there from the smell alone. The sheer intoxication of it all leaving an imprint on his mind and his senses.

Taking a deep breath to steady your nerves, fingers wrapped around the silver door latch finally making your exit to the grand sanctum. This is it……The next time you returned would not be (Y/L/N), but Mrs.Strange. The thought of it making your heart flutter faster.

Shoes quietly stepping on the floor to turn the corner slowly; finally arriving in the main room. There by the glowing window of the seal of Vishanti was your fiancé and soon to be husband, Sinister Strange. His tall lean frame silhouetted forming his hands behind his back facing outside the giant window. Safe assumption that he was in deep thought.

Stepping out of the dark hallway looking up to him swallowing back tears you beckoned playfully, “Hello handsome.” His head perked to turn, slowly shifting completely around finding himself almost falling over if he wasn’t struck dead in his tracks.

Eyes wide scanning up and down your gorgeous frame, his admiring gaze never wavering. A look full of pure uninhibited love. You looked like an angel. My angel of music. His sea glass eyes blown wide; mouth slightly open. She is absolutely beautiful. Just keep composure…and don’t cry. Its not everyday the worlds most powerful sorcerer is rendered speechless.

Face beaming, finding yourself in awe at how handsome he looked as well. He always took your breath away. Instead of his usual tunic he opted for a black victorian jacquard swallowtail frock coat with a matching vest. Completing the look with a dark purple ascot necktie. His Pressed black trousers accompanied by the solid black wingtip oxford shoes. The usual disheveled silken hair swept back neatly with a pomade. Of course, except for a few strands cascading down his forehead, slightly veiling his chiseled cheeks. The uniformed look of his silver strands on his temples giving off a soft glow from the light. He truly looked superbly divine and delectable. The things I would do to him tonight……

With an endearing grin he extended his left hand outward, the baritone in his voice dropping an octave that always drove you crazy sending an electric shock up your spine, “Darling……come here”

A wide smile spreading across your face emitting a giggle from you. Your smile always to sent a flood of warmth through his chest every time he saw it. Stepping closer grasping his hand bringing it up to his velvet lips, eyes never breaking contact with yours to slowly place a soft kiss on your fingers. Blue eyes shimmering like two glowing pools causing the heat to rise from your chest up to your cheeks.

Clearing his throat Sinister couldn’t help but to speak above a whisper; gently turning your hand over. Lips caressing your delicate palm to steal more kisses from your open hand between pauses, “You look…absolutely divine my love…so breathtaking. My angel.”

Smiling back sheepishly, “You’re not so bad yourself Stephen, you cleanup nice. Always such a gentleman to me.” Stroking his goatee giving it a light tug winking at him, noticing the tips of his ears turning pink with his cheeks.

Returning to stand upright never releasing your hand Sinister slowly guided you to the center of the Sanctum Hall, his oxford heels echoing off the wooden floor. Surrounded by snuffed out candles and musical instruments he waved his free hand to illuminate the candles surrounding you. Filling the hall with soft glowing warmth. The elegant glow dancing off your faces, accentuating his defined face and cheekbones, it felt like a living fairytale.

Giving a heartfelt sigh, “You never cease to impress me Stephen, I always love when you use magic,” giving his hand a light squeeze.

“My bride deserves the best. This is the start of the rest of our lives, and I want to give you the moon and the stars. I love you with my whole heart (y/n),” guiding your hand bringing it up to his chest.

Being how it was just the two of you in this fractured world together you mutually agreed to exchange vows and rings with each other. Over the course of a year the two of you noticed this world slowly beginning to rebuild itself. Plants where sprouting, and you even pointed out some baby doves outside nesting on the library window. A normal explanation couldn’t be placed as to why, but Sinister deeply believed that it was your love and inner magic that was helping to sew this universe back together. He convinced himself he would be destined to wander it alone. For years his heart pined for companionship, but loneliness along with time began to calcify his heart due to the shame of his past. But you came into his life and repaired a broken man who believed in love all over again. A debt he could never fully repay. The closest he could muster was to ask for your hand and become his for eternity.

A loving smile formed on your lips, “I love you to Stephen…so much”

Feeling his rapid heartbeat through his vest you brought your palm up to cup his face, he leaned into it grabbing urgently with both hands. Like you were a dream, and he was afraid he would wake up from it. After some time you spoke gently, “I would like to begin my love, for I can not wait any longer for you to be my wife (Y/N)”

Smiling at his eagerness you nodded, his stance erect he pulls out a folded parchment. Hands shaking a bit more then usual as his slender fingers unfolded the weathered paper. A clear sign he has taken many a time to write it out. Reaching for his hand once again for support feeling it get tighter as he read, “I Stephen Vincent Strange, take you to be my loving wife. To have, to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish you with every fiber of my soul till death we do part, and this is my solemn vow. Today I promise to respect you always. I will share the good times and bad times with you, be a support and guide. I promise to worship you at your feet for all eternity. You know me better than anyone else in this world and somehow still you manage to love me…...You are my best friend and one true love. Above all, I will love you from now until our day’s end.”

Suddenly breaking eye contact he gazed down away from you, hearing a sniffle to notice a single tear stream down his cheek. Bringing your soft hand up brushing it away with your thumb. A small smile on your lips you gently guided his head steadily upwards with your thumb and index finger, “That was perfect my love. I couldn’t have put it better myself.” Sinister couldn’t help but chuckle sheepishly at your affection.

It left you speechless with your stomach doing somersaults. Fighting back your own tears your heart felt like it was going to burst. It was your turn to speak your heartfelt vow. Opting to not write anything you always spoke from the heart. But suddenly your brain was like a deer caught in the headlights.

In a moment that felt like an eternity Sinister gave a chuckle to mouth the words, “you can do it my love,” squeezing your hands reassuringly. Giving a somber smile returning your hands downward gazing at Sinister straight into his blue eyes boldly professing, “I (Y/N), pledge to you Steven Vincent Strange, to always catch you before you stumble, and lift you over every threshold. I will always be by your side not only as your lover, but as your best friend. I promise to love you every day that I’m breathing. This is my solemn vow. You have the core of my heart beating for you, a love beyond what a metaphor can ever express.”

Closing his eyes releasing a heartfelt sigh that seemed like he was breathing in your words; he brought your hands to his lips. Waving his hand summoning light purple magic, a small ring box floated into his palm. The slender scarred digits slowly fishing out two matching wedding bands that were black with silver lining. Your ring accompanied by a small white diamond embedded into the jet black metal.

Taking a band in each of your hands sliding them onto each others left ring finger. A symbol of undying love to your heart-lines. Holding Sinister’s fingers in the delicacy of yours rubbing your thumb over the band. His slender fingers even more beautiful than before.

Together you had one last step in the ceremony to perform. Taking the purple lace from your bouquet to wrap your hands in unison. Sinister’s palm resting above yours, snugged between the soft fabric. Creating a bind symbolizing the bonding of both your lives. Reciting the planned vows, eyes never leaving each other in perfect unison to recite.

“You are Blood of my Blood, and Bone of my Bone. I give you my Body, that we Two might be One. I give you my Spirit, ’til our Life shall be Done”

Sinister unraveled the purple fabric to magic it back onto your bouquet. Both releasing a joyous sigh, returning your hands back together. His thumb rubbing across your ring finger. With slightly choked up tempo you said, “I now pronounce us husband…...and wife.” Slightly bouncing up and down hardly containing your excitement, a huge smile beamed across your face.

Sinister wasted no time gently grabbing by both sides of your face. His large hands cradling you like precious porcelain. Pulling you in eagerly for a deep passionate kiss; lips melting together his mouth giving promises of love and protection. It felt like eternal bliss. Surrounded by the flicker of candlelight and for a moment forgetting the world around both of you existing. Pulling away glacially to look up at Sinister smiling down at you.

“I love you; I love you with all my soul (Y/N Strange).” Rubbing a thumb gently across your cheek you blushed at the sentiment of using your newly claimed last name.

“I love you too Stephen Strange”

“I believe your husband owes you a first dance”

Your ears perked up at the sudden thought. You have always wanted to dance. It’s something you missed greatly.

“That sounds incredible Stephen, yes please let’s do it.” Trying to contain your excitement, your hands still clasped together. Releasing from your grasp Sinister once again made a gesture with his hands; purple glowing magic emanating and surrounding all around you both. With wide eyes you saw the candles begin to hover and the instruments began to play. Finishing it off with a giant glowing chandelier up above. Hearing the familiar tempo of the music travel in your ears, tears formed in your eyes. Noticing the sound of the familiar score of Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty Waltz.

“Stephen…but how did you know”

Hands behind his back he paced slightly in front of you. “I know you more then anyone my love. You spoke about how you wanted to be a Disney princess. I felt this score fit perfectly. What kind of a husband would I be if I did not fulfill your every dream”

Heart beating faster in your chest, feeling like you were on cloud nine. The familiar mm-bap-bap of the score leading the opening musical bar, Sinister taking a bow before you returning upright. His hand extended outward for you.

His baritone voice speaking gently, “May I have this dance my princess”

“I’d be honored”

Setting the bouquet on the grand piano to take his hand in yours, grabbing you by the small of your waist. Slowly at first guiding you across the sanctum floor with upmost grace. Not surprised that he was very experienced with waltzing. His steps ever fluid with the ¾ time, keeping up the pace with ease. No partner you’ve ever had could hold a candle to his dancing skills. The tail of his coat lifting with every gentle hop. His movement’s sweeping like a ghost across the dance floor.

The score began to swell louder while keeping your pace together in perfect unison. Gliding across ever faster on the floor; your wedding dress swishing majestically like a work of moving art. Sinister couldn’t take his cerulean eyes from you. For all he cared the world would be burning and he would die a happy man.

“Ive said this a thousand times and I’ll keep saying it till my last breath, but you are beautiful. You are the sexiest thing in the world, never forget that” he breathed against your ear.

“And I’ll never get tired of your sweet side Stephen”

As the music began to die down so did your pace. Spinning around slower and slower until you fell into a deep embrace. His arms felt like home, the candles twinkling like lights from fairies. Sinister drew you closer to wear you were a breath away from each other. Noses nuzzling pulling you in for another kiss. Softly at first his mouth brushed against your lower lip. The beard tickling your soft skin. Melding together finally to tilt your head up deepening the kiss. Releasing a soft moan in sweet unison you lunged forward deeper on your tiptoes to get the most of his mouth. Tightening his grip around your waistline, he dipped you back to steal another kiss. This time his velvet tongue penetrating your lips, claiming access to your warm silken mouth. You welcomed it greatly never wanting to let go.

Releasing to catch your breaths Sinister leaned his forehead against yours, a huge smile radiating off of your faces. Gently rising you back up to kiss your forehead softly. Clutching each other with a loving embrace. Your cheek resting on his firm chest feeling it rise and fall.

“So…,” he trailed off. “What shall we do next?”

A smirk forming on the corner of your lip you knew exactly what he was hinting at. Placing your palms to his strong chest, leaning up with just a whisper of distance to form the most seductive voice cocking an eyebrow, “If I’m not mistaken, this is where we go upstairs and make our marriage official”

A growl emitting from his chest, eyes forming with lust he didn’t miss a beat and swooped you up bridal style to briskly carry you upstairs towards your shared chamber.

“Say no more, as the saying goes happy wife…...happy life,” he winked at you with that sideways smirk you loved so much.

Exclaiming boldly, you realized, “But wait! What about the candles?!”

Biting your earlobe gently he growled into your ear.

“Those can wait, for I have more important things to tend too. For I’ve got an appointment with heaven and an angel needs tending to.” Giggling into his steady frame your cheeks flushing the deepest red. It was the best day if your life.

Top 18 of my favorite full-body poses of Little Knack, from the first game.

He still glows brightly from manifesting, here, but I like this expression because it reminds me of a kitten somehow lol.

I'm not sure why I like this one so much. He is far quicker at climbing the giant relic than this image describes, but there's something like, I like the shape and there is an energy there.

The composition? Is so pretty? You might notice that my avatar is a sketch of this (as of early June 2023. I know I will change it again).

This one, I really like: the color and shadows of the night, the grey stone, and drama of the pose. It's not really representative of the scene since he gets back up quickly and seems no worse for wear, but I still like it.

Knack has such long arms in the first game, that when he isn't running and is more casually walking, he sometimes holds his hands out just a bit while he swings them to avoid dragging. It produces an interesting effect.

More below; Thought it would be nice to cut off after 5 images to avoid long posts.

Trying to decide whether this one will make the cut. I like the hunched over crouch look, not sure why. Also did anyone notice they straightened his posture in the second game? I'll have to check again.

The sunset does a pretty good job of putting those carvings in stark relief. Literally! Look up "define in relief". Anyway I just love the colors, texture, and detail here.

Put that boy on a skateboard. Need I say more?

I'm mainly just putting this here because it can be hard to notice, although I think even the animators play pretty loose with it, but Knack's pupils may still be pupils when he small; there's a radial pattern that could define his eye region, and the pupils tend to move within that pattern, except for when they don't.

Once again I like the colors, the energy. You know he's going to hop off that rock. He is so Shaped.

The contrast here is perfect! You can see Knack and the relics lit up against the shadowed cliff. There is pleasing visual interest drawing the eye from the little sprinkle to the relics more up close and visually larger, you can tell the relics are falling away as Knack plummets. Interestingly, they seem to come off in layers.

Might remove this since I can't brain. Something like, the poses are nice and the lighting. There's somewhat the arm-swing I pointed out earlier.

Oh my goodness this one! Hi! I want to also include the smile he does, but that's a close-up.

And the high-five! YEAH!

I love Knack's expression in this one hehehe. Kind of wish I could combine it with another one where the Doctor and Ryder aren't awkwardly mid-stride.

I just love that impish grin.

And the kinetics of this one are so nice I think. You can tell which direction he's going based on where his ears flap around.

My autism and therianthropy:

☆I like small spaces. They make me feel safe and help with compression/bodily awareness. I've almost always had a den or a hide away spot for comfort when i was able.

☆I have major sensory processing issues. I often cant tell how big or strong I am. I struggle to keep track of my body and my brain typically overcompensates, making me feel larger than I am.

☆Those sensory issues also play into my hands and feet feeling more paw like.

☆I have always been more socially isolated, both by being singled out and by just being inherently more solitary/self entertained/self sufficient.

☆I do not like the texture of smooth things. I have always preferred nature over any urban environment.

☆My relationship with food has been selective and reward based. I want food that is good for me or comforting and i like it more if i get it myself. I have always had an affinity for foraging and would like to learn to hunt ethically.

☆The way I percieve the world feels bear like to me. I have an inherent sense of curiosity, skittishness, audacity, playfulness, attentiveness, relentlessness, etc.. I am aware that these are human characteristics as well, but my experience with these qualities has always felt different than other's portrayal of them. In other words, I have met plenty of people who can be described like bears but I behave and percieve as one, to an extent where it has been pointed out. Usually by calling me odd or "a bit much" or offputting, but it is noticed nonetheless.

☆I experience all my emotions with my full body. Feeling things is a sensory experience for me. All of my emotional reactions look and feel very similar to that of a bear.

☆Ive leaned heavily on vocal stims for emotional and physical regulation. Mostly grunts and repetative phrases. The grunts are the bear part obviously lol

My trauma and therianthropy:

☆I had to be self sufficient as a kid because my parents didnt take care of me very well and i was not very likable. Not a self deprecation thing, just how my interactions with others went.

☆I struggled with communicating emotions due to home life not really allowing it and it proving useless in school environments.

☆I developed a sense of self defense that is extremely bear like. I stand my ground, look at whatever(whoever) is threatening me, asses the threat, charge, gauge reaction, attack/flee. This pattern developed more fully around 10yrs old. This is when i see myself becoming more of a juvenile bear than a cub. I interacted with a lot of sadistic assholes as a cub. Words meant nothing, fighting back couldve gotten me killed, and intimidation was always safer but i didnt have the tools to be intimidating.

☆I was like a backseat driver in my own head for a long time and kept quiet about a lot. I talked a lot, but not with any real substance. The internal me was silent for a very long time. The most genuine aspect of me is when i am allowed to fully go nonverbal, simply because being genuine and talking are incompatible for me in my head, even if i am talking accurately and emotionally.

☆Intimidtion became a core part of how i cary myself. I am not large but i have been regarded as scary a lot. I do not fight often, but it has been noted by most that i could. In that way i feel like i am percieved as a bear.

☆I was hospitalized a LOT as a teenager and faced a lot of medical malpractice. This very much so solidified my already present discomfort with urban environments and made me crave nature even more.

☆I have always needed a territory. Even if it was just my bed or just a small box that noone else was allowed to touch. The only way to keep anything mine was to get really territorial over a singular spot, even if i let people kick my ass everywhere else, i was safe in my territory. I made sure of it.

Do you have a theory why Armand's casting is so under wraps even though they have filmed footage? Apparently he's not book accurate and revealing the casting would be a huge spoiler. Do you have any theories how his character has been changed (at least physically)?

all right like tbh I never got to the bottom of where that rumor came from and I'm not sure if it's true, so ONE OPTION is that it's nonsense, it's bullshit, they didn't cast him at all yet bc he's not gonna be around until Season 2. And like, unless there's some MASSIVE thing that we didnt hear about, this production was leakier than the fuckin Titanic so I just don't know if they could've kept it under wraps this long. Like so far the most plausible conspiracy was the Alex Garfin sightings and he has THE LOOK but like, I'm not sure why they'd keep it a secret, especially because it doesn't feel like they're treasuring Armand as a character to prioritize in this universe.

But if the thing IS a spoiler, I think like, the only ways simply learning who he is could be a spoiler is if it's like someone they've cast as a red herring playing a different character (Rashid) or like, it's SO dramatically different that they want the reveal to be more exciting, like if he's been changed to a woman. Again like, at this point I don't think they're shy about not being book accurate so I don't know why it would be a secret if it's dramatically different. They've prided themselves on being dramatically different so far.

Either way I don't see him being book accurate; it's not an aesthetic issue as much as it's a storytelling issue. And even if he has the same backstory and personality and everything like, the entire timeline is so fucked up along with the other characters that he'd be serving a different narrative function. Like I'm curious to see what else will happen between Louis & Lestat but Lestat in this is sharing vampire information, has told Louis about his mortal life, and Louis has vampire powers! So even if he still heads to Europe on a quest for spiritual knowledge, it's not going to look the same in terms of Armand being a mentor figure. (Like I'm sure they could come up with another way for Armand to be a mentor or even just a breath of fresh air after Lestat's fucking nonsense so idk.) There's also just not enough time for Armand to have his relationships with Louis and Daniel in a truncated timeline, or least, it won't carry the same weight if you take a 70 year relationship and squash it into 20 or whatever.

Like, they're vampires, don't fuck me around with a 20 year relationship LOL humans can do that. Get serious!

As for theories, honestly I couldn't fuckin tell ya dude like this entire show is doing whatever the fuck it wants. 😂 I wouldn't be surprised if they aged him up since all the other characters have been aged up. 😂😂

(I almost started a side essay about why I think Armand's age is fucking important to who he is as a person and creates a really beautiful texture with regards to the theme of his lost innocence and barbaric personality but that's not what you asked, I will 🤐)

But even making predictions about the ways the show is navigating themes about age and things like that, I don't completely have a grasp on it yet so I can't be sure. If he doesn't show up this season I might have different feelings, having seen the whole season. Like, depending what the show is trying to tell us about teens & sexuality, maybe they WOULDN'T age him up, maybe they'll go there. I need to see more about how they handle Claudia. And depending on how they want to handle the main ship, who knows if they'll introduce Armand as a Loustat wedge, and it might really change how they present him if he is/isn't going to be a love interest.

I think like when more patterns start emerging about the style of storytelling and what they're trying to tell us we'll be able to guess stuff like this, but as of now I'm just in the fuckin dark haha.

Big ramble about character design, especially in FFXIV.

One thing I love a lot in character design is visual storytelling. I think with FFXIV there’s a lot of room to just chase what we find exciting and do wish-fulfillment regardless of practicality or background, which is legit. But for me personally--I know I tend to think about individual personality/relationship with body and presentation, background culture/climate, present culture/climate, job, social class, body type/tradition surrounding body type, composition/color theory/silhouette, etc. Loads and loads of info basically.

It feels a little like I get to play Sherlock Holmes with presentation, where I’m trying to discover and communicate as much as possible. One layer I learned growing up in terms of fashion is that you basically need to acknowledge the body shape that exists, then add additional elements or shapes through hair/clothing/makeup according to what you want to emphasize or de-emphasize. For example, if elezen have broad shoulders, long necks, and small heads--I’m going to want hair styles that frame the face and add volume so that the head doesn’t look small and does look balanced. I’m also going going to want to avoid anything that makes the shoulders look broader because that will make the head look small (unless I want a disproportionate effect), and ideally will want clothing that focuses on vertical visual focus over horizontal--face-neck-torso-legs rather than shoulder-to-shoulder. If I want an hourglass shape, that means more volume at the hips for legwear. If I want a dorito, that means less volume at the hips. For femroes, I know it’s broad shoulders/larger chests and muscular builds. If the desired shape is an hourglass, emphasize the narrowest point in terms of cinching--likely under the bust. Low cut top is better and will elongate the neck/de-emphasize shoulders and bust compositionally, while a high collar risks making the bust and shoulders look wider. Some exceptions apply--the ruffles and collars of certain outfits (ex. high house justaucorps and most sky pirate gear) are designed in such a way that still creates vertical as opposed to horizontal eye direction, and so still works. The songbird top’s cut creates horizontal direction emphasizing shoulders though, so bust and shoulders look wider.

All techniques mentioned are ultimately tools to communicate. If you want to create a broader impression with emphasis on muscles and bulk, you can do that. If you want a character to look like they are uncomfortable with their body or hiding in their clothes, there are options for that too. Although final fantasy as a series gives a hell of a lot of wiggle room, I do think it’s slightly less important whether a design is fashionable when OCs are concerned than that it communicates information about the character effectively. On color palettes and weather, we as players can do funny stuff like running around Coerthas in cherry pink bikinis lol. But if the goal is to create specific impressions of character, background, or relationship to the environment--that takes a bit of thought. Besides color theory stuff (how you use color families or complements for eye direction) and playing with patterns/textures, it makes a difference whether your character goes bright or muted in their palette so far as impression goes. Is this someone who is commanding attention or sinking into the shadows? Are they loud or quiet, sheltered or weathered? And the style of clothing also reflects this--does this person look nautical in a way that would indicate involvement at Limsa Lominsa? Are they wearing leathers, furs, feathers, and beads that scream Black Shroud? List goes on, and it’s worthwhile to pay attention not only to what NPCs in the area wear but what cultures that shaped the region might include. And then there’s like... ‘is this a character who moves a lot or is more stationary’ type questions, which can also inform choices depending. Idk like this is just me geeking, but basically I think design and fashion are their own types of storytelling/communication. I think the whole process of creating an impression of who a character is/what personality and origin they have before they’ve said a word is completely exciting!

Chapter 15 Part 10: Uh...oops

We're almost to the boss, but first I need to work on these enemies whose movement patterns are unclear.

Because the Berserk Staff is a pain, I send Lute to get rid of the Troubadour.

She picks up the Berserk Staff too.

For some reason, I decide to have Marisa move here to get this wyvern with her Lance Breaker.

Moulder does his job.

And then I move Gerik here. He trade-switches Marisa's inventory so that she has a different sword equipped. I had realized at this point that she was in range of the Berserker, who I thought might move, and the Lance Breaker would make her very vulnerable to his Devil Axe and high crit rate. Of course, switching her weapon like this now makes her more vulnerable to all the wyverns, who have lances.

Gerik uses his Long Bow to also attack from here. I believe he missed one of his shots, which was also a problem.

Enemy phase: Good so far. Marisa with a Killing Edge is fine against the Berserker.

She got another cruddy level! And a Devil Axe!

So yeah, see how those three wyverns are around one tile? That's where Marisa was standing.

In retrospect, I have no idea why I put her that far forward with so many tough lance enemies around. Like I said in the last post about the kind of risky play I made with Ephraim, I think playing the way I have been has definitely caused me to make more bad moves near the ends of maps when I'm tired.

(Also, I swear I don't hate Myrmidons! Even though Marisa and Joshua are the only characters I've gotten killed...)

I'm actually more upset about losing the Killing Edge than losing Marisa though. She's really not that great a unit unless you baby her, and it's even harder to do that on Ephraim's route since she joins later. Eirika can use swords too, so I guess she will be my Marisa replacement.

Oh, hey, Lute got a level up! I think her magic will cap at 25, so she's almost there already.

Gerik and Franz remove the other two wyverns.

And Ephraim picks up another hidden treasure, an Eclipse Tome! Since it requires B rank Dark Magic and has bad hit anyway, I very well may sell this.

Gerik checks in with Tethys to see if she's ok after Marisa's untimely demise. (No, really. It's their C support, and he starts it by asking how she's doing. The timing of this coming right after their fellow mercenary went down was kind of weird.)

And Cormag finally finds the Silver Card! Half-off all items!

I've found all of the hidden treasure in the sand, so Lute moves in and shoots Valter.

He says he doesn't need insignificant nothings challenging him.

The literal words are something like, "small fish with no texture to them". "Hagotae" is a word that refers to foods with a firm texture, one where it's not too soft or mushy, and you have to bite and chew a bit. The word is made of the word "tooth", and a word like "answer" or "response" or "reaction" or something like that. "Hagotae" is generally positive, so "Hagotae no nai" (no tooth response / no texture) is negative.

He also uses the word "zako" which is literally something like "random-ass mix of little fish", but which is often used like English "scrubs" or "noobs".

So Valter is a toxic gamer, and he is calling Lute a worthless scrub. Little does he know he's about to get 360 no-scope sniped out of existence...

Tethys dances for Lute, and Lute finishes the job, getting yet another point of magic.

the sock puppet dog is called a cubethief

the creature in berry story that’s like the weird little guy on wheels that is always on the opposite face of the active player is called a mimic and the little guy on wheels who carries you with the tray is called the transporter cube. i know that one or both of these two have been referred to as piccolo and/or bouncer before in canon and the sounds they make have been called gny/issel which i think means “creak” in swedish. idk im too tired to go back and check any of the naming stuff (but anyway i don’t like berry story very much so im not as motivated KDHDKDHDKDHJ) but i will do so someday in the hopefully near future <3

the cute creatures who play instruments when u win or get achievements etc are called (aptly) drumman and tubaman

fun fact: ilo’s pattern is plaid and milo’s pattern is floral… and all of the safkas but the teal one has both plaid and floral (🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺)!!! the teal one has vertical stripes + floral which is very cool :”~D

this is probably common knowledge but it’s news to me — if u get certain achievements in world of keflings and raskulls then u can unlock special costumes for ilo and milo! ilo can be a pirate, “winter” (??), a devil, or a dragon… milo can be a doctor, a witch, a king, or a wizard. not sure if there is anything to read into about this but i am thinking MANY thoughts and i also want to do fanart

i have no idea what a wallpig is but apparently it’s a character. i think it’s honestly the giant background thing that wraps around chapter 1’s skybox (name for level environment apparently) sometimes? but yeah i have to go check

idk if it’s just me but… i don’t think fold cubes are actually in the game right? like maybe they’re the mirror makers but i thought they looked like portals and not faces

also speaking of mirrors i feel like there are mirror textures in the files that don’t actually exist in the game.. like for the nabber and stuff? but ch 3 is my least favorite so i might be misremembering

some notable background creatures i am either too tired to remember or haven’t paid enough attention to: balloon creature, a cupboard creature, the dogfish (which i vaguely recall), the eggs (i think those are from the multiplayer version which i haven’t played in ages), ropegirl, VICTOR (who i will see in my nightmares), and pirate piany who i literally don’t think ive ever seen in my life but there’s sebastian lore in there bc they look like sebastian. basicslly i need to go back and replay the whole game but pay attention to bc characters

LORE AND EASTER EGGS

interestingly enough it seems like the park level was supposed to be ch 1 as planned but then ch 2 would’ve been the noir / night level, ch 3 would’ve been the water level, and ch 4 would’ve been the paper level? that reflects in some game files but not all of them so i wonder what their idea for the story was before they made the switch

letter names 1-5 (i.e. signatures on the memories) are ilona, milton, kalliope, saffron, and dr gris (probably out of order im too tired to check lol) but letter names 6-10 turned up totally blank for me. idk if they’re just supposed to be negative versions of them but the fact that they have numbers and not any sort of “n” indicator is… suspicious

game mechanics i saw in the files but genuinely have zero recollection of: “blink of denial,” smooch, and a phone ringing and being picked up?? maybe all of this is from berry story but idk

sound file names i get a kick out of: “suckplopp” (sound effect; exactly what the name implies) and “rhubarbarella” (the version of the ilomilo theme that plays when u first start up the game before pressing enter to get to the main menu or whatever)

the memories are called “meta stories” in certain game files and the memory fragments are called “membits” that generate “memory fluid” that goes into the “memory machine” !!! wow

there are lots of cool houses / trees / etc in the bg that ive never paid attention to before but a few of them either have faces / characters on or inside them OR…. they have ilo and milo on them 🤯 like this one house in ch 4 (noir level) has a bunch of them in the ilomilo shuffle style incl with crossed out eyes???? uhmmmm

other cool bg things to give shoutouts to: the carboat, the lightrope (which presumably ropegirl hangs out on), the machinarium

i am SO MAD abt this one. so there’s a paper plane that flies around in ch 3 AND IT’S MADE OF AN ILOMILO MANUAL 😭😭😭😭😭 like it has a picture of ilo and milo on it and then u can see folded up excerpts abt chain cubes and p-cubes and the premise of the game… psspspspsps southend studios release the sacred texts

one of the playroom “props” has ilomilo shuffle playing on a video game screen! and (even cooler) another one has a whole bunch of wooden blocks with the only visible block letters being k, s, i, and m……. our four main characters kalliope saffron ilona and milton might have something to say about this 😜

according to the sound files there was going to be a narrator implemented into the game in some way shape or form! complete with breathing and lighting a pipe and lots of speaking files… but i couldn’t tell if they were speaking an actual language or a made up one like sebastian (and now that i say that i wonder if the narrator would’ve been sebastian’s “human” counterpart? but idk)

one of the background items (technically two but the 2nd is a recolor) features a label for something called nom nom jam with ilo and milo dancing around the words! ilona and milton jam making era……

A soft hum leaves your lips as you shuffle through your mail, an elegant black envelope catching your eye. The matted black paper standing out from the normal sea of white, a delicate swirling blue pattern accenting the black. You drop the rest of the mail, attention immediately captured by the expensive and intricate-looking paper peeling back the pretty wax seal.

I find the in-game versions kinda bland, and there are not many floral Kimonos even though its commonly seen in Japanese festivals. This seems like a fun idea! What I have been wanting for ages (like since TS2 era ages) is a hair style that completely covers one eye, like Violet at the start of The Incredibles. #SSSWish - I would love to see a someone put together clothing that accurately reflects the Starfleet uniforms seen on the television shows, "Star Trek: The Next Generation" (collar version), "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" (colored shoulders) or the later movie uniforms (grey shoulders w/ colored undershirt). My Super Secret Wish is a mod, or even a tweak of an existing mod, that stops toddlers from shying away from hugs they ask for during the “Check Toddler” interaction. It is *so* irritating to see a toddler respond to a❓with a ❤️ and open arms then step back, often with a 💔, and push the adult away. I’ve tried to stop it with MCCC but no luck.

One of my favorite parts of the game is creating a restaurant or a vet clinic, but the employees are impossible to keep satisfied and they all eventually quit. It would be nice if there was a way to keep them permanently satisfied, or at least make it easier. There is a mod for this but it is extremely outdated and doesn't work anymore. If anyone could update it or make a new one that would be great! 😁

Hi ! There is quite a few things I’d like, but I narrowed it down to three “small” things:

- An accessory top with a high neckline and no sleeves - just to hide cleavage - maybe with some lace at the edge ? and several grey and pastel colors please.

- Some accessory prints for shirts, like those tukete has, maybe some aimed at kids and toddlers too ?

- Makeup for kids. Some people let their kids wear makeup in real life, but adult cc makeup don’t look right on kids, so if anyone is interested in trying… I’d like eye-shadow and lipstick, with some discreet options (but you can go all out too of course).

Hello! i’m not sure if its just my game bugging but the male child tiny living hair is broken and i don’t know where to start on fixing it. i tried to find a fix online but found nothing. in my game the hairline for that hair is so bad and its unfortunate cause it used to be my fav child hair. if someone that mods or makes cc could fix it or make a default replacement, i would forever be grateful.

Hello! This #SSSWish is such a fun idea~ Personally, I'd love if someone updated the Plantsims mods that have broken over the numerous updates. Like, G1G2's Revamped Plantsims, Triplis' Plantsim Interactions, and Simonch8's No Cooldown & Trait mods. I've always loved Plantsims since Sims 2 & 3 days, but my knowledge of modding (and especially updating mods) is near nonexistent, so I can't do this myself. #ssswish This is such a lovely idea! There are so many fun wishes! What I’d like to have (and I think would also be useful for other Simmers) is a wedding themed recolor of the “large pile of presents.” I usually put one of those piles in my wedding venue so that the bride and groom can “open presents” together. But the colors that are on the original are not what you usually see on presents at weddings. (I usually opt for the one that is mostly purple, since purple and lavender are my favorite colors.) What I’d like to have are recolors in white, white/gold, and white/silver. Maybe some white/pastels (especially lavender, pink and blue. The white/pastel recolors would also be nice for having a party that you call a “baby shower” especially if yellow and light green were also available. That kind of party isn’t in the game, but it should be!)

With snowy escape there’s more build items that can be used, I’ve noticed there tends to be a lot of Japanese inspired cc even before that pack, but not a lot of things from other parts of Asia, especially ancient cultures or cultural items like instruments (decor), clothing, furniture (lohan beds), etc. I’ve gone looking but most of what I’ve found is locked behind chinese-only forums and is usually alpha…I just think it would be cool to see some mm stuff from other places esp as fandoms get more globalized

#SSSWish I’d love to see a TS4 conversion of an old fave or two from TS2 – the tennis dress that came with the Apartment Life EP and the women’s nerdy cute sweater vest over untucked blouse from FreeTime (just the top preferred over the full outfit with the skirt) are the things I’ve been missing most, but anyone who wants to convert clothes from either of those two EPs or H&M stuff will make me super excited, they all had a lot of nice things.

This is an absolutely fantastic idea! I haven't been able to look around lately but I noticed that most rings/hand accessories aren't compatible with SkinDetail eyelashes. My wish is exactly hand accessories, specifically wedding rings, which don't conflict with SkinDetail eyelashes. It may be helpful to know that plumbobteasociety managed it in their RRS pack. Lastly, you guys rock!

Particularly K-drama style uniform tops that have variations, such as blazers and the types of ties ( e.g. ribbons, bows, regular ties, loose ties, no ties etc. ), cardigans, vests, half-zips, blouses, button downs and crewnecks ( just some examples ) for sims that like to show off their own style at school, despite the uniform.

I have another #SSSWish (if you don't mind). I don't know if it already exists but a mod which adds more family relationship options to CAS or the Sim menu. Like grandparents, cousins, step- and half-siblings, step-parents, etc. It would be easier instead of having to create additional Sims just to create diverse relationships.

I would love to see some more truly alien clothing options for the aliens, the males especially. I sometimes like to dress mine up in complete different outfits for their alien and disguise forms. When I want to give there alien form a totally authentic feel, but a different outfit in every category, I have so much trouble dressing up the males. So some new alien options would be wonderful.

Can somebody make some maxis match dreads for male sims? I see a lot of shaved sides for men or female dreads with clips and baby hairs, but I would love for some regular full head male dreads not too short and not to long!! #SSSWish
