this session is making me so so sick. grian telling etho and cleo, "if we turn red today, i'm sticking by you. that's the deal. it's not over 'til it's over."
and this is grian, all-bets-off grian, who historically immediately loses his mind the moment the haze of being red clouds his vision. think of double life: he's red, and he sees red, and his feet are taking him to bigb's on a path he's traveled a thousand times before. he spends ages ready to drop that stalactite, and only after the blood is on his hands does he stop and realize what he's done. this is grian, known to all as someone with a fickle heart who will do what it takes to win, someone who just can't help himself. he slaughters his allies time and time again.
but here's the thing: never has he sworn himself to someone as vocally, as desperately as he has cleo and etho. or, he has. a long time ago, standing in desert sand, where not even in the fire of his final life could he willingly turn his fists to scar. no other team has wormed its way into his heart since scar. but finally, here and now, with these two people, he's given himself up again. he's healing. he loves these people so much and they've just worked his way into his chest and it wasn't even on purpose, but they're there now. and he's accepting it.
nothing terrifies him more than the thought of being the last one left with the people he loves. the desert and scar have taught him that loving anyone too deeply is nothing but a death wish. but in one sentence, he's sworn to etho and cleo that he's going to brave that again for them, if it comes down to it.
this isn't the desert, and he's tired of running from it.

There is nothing platonic about the way aziraphale says “very nice” after Crowleys dance
I mean, the angel practically said “that’s right, you’re my bitch” while checking him out
