Ok ok, but hear me out on a Superbat AU

Clark is 14 when Luthor learns the truth about his origin. He goes missing 3 days after school finishes for the summer. His parents search for him relentlessly, for years they beg for the return of their son. But despite the search parties and the press conferences no one comes forward and Clark is never found. A missing persons case that haunts Smallville for the years to come.

On the eve of Clark's 18th birthday Superman appears. Hovering over Metropolis in a pitch black uniform. Martha recognizes her son instantly, and watches in horror as he sweeps through the streets with a single minded focus. He returns to Lexcorp with a thief clutched in one hand and the same eerily blank face he'd had in every clip that had been captured of him.

Luthor heralded him as a superhero, thanked him publicly for returning the thief to Lexcorp to be prosecuted. No one notices when the thief disappears, and though they ask where the Superman goes when he isn't hanging in the sky above Metropolis there is no one who seems to have an answer.

Lexcorp tells the world that they should trust this being that has come to help. That he has shown only kindness towards them. That if he goes after someone, it is only because they must have done something terrible to deserve it.

In Metropolis Superman haunts the golden city, hangs in the air high above them and listens to Luthors orders in his ears. He has never wanted to hurt someone, but he has no choice. He is Luthor's favorite weapon, this he knows. And if he strays, Luthor will know.

Across the bay a Court stirs, they have always worked from the shadows. Hidden in Gothams walls and with their hands in every one of Gothams pots. Metropolis has a hero hanging high above their head, but the Court has done business with the man who pulls it's strings and they believe this is something they can work together on.

So the Court calls for a meeting and they plot their own path.

3 months after Superman debuts the Voice of the Court meets with Lex Luthor and offers a deal.

A decade before Superman debuts the Waynes die, their son is never found. It is a tragedy that haunts Gotham for a decade. It is a warning. The Wayne family has long stood apart from the Court, but Thomas and Martha got in the way. Thomas and Martha hampered the Court's goals, and so they had to go. Their son was a warning.

And now, their son is the warning.

The Talon stalking from shadowed perch. The greatest the Court has ever produced. And so they send their greatest weapon alongside the Voice of the Court and a deal is struck.

Superman meets a Talon. They see another made a weapon, and they begin to wonder.

Must they always be weapons?

ngl real missed opportunity by DC to let Harley and Mr. Freeze become friends during her primary villain arc (btas or other) cause tbh I can't imagine he'd enjoy sitting in his cell listening to Joker brag about all the ways he's cruel, abusive and uncaring towards Harley, a woman who loves him, while Victor's entire goal is to save his wife who he loves dearly ya know ???? and it's not like all of them haven't been locked up together, the other rogues Know. Joker's not like most abusers who try to keep it behind closed doors, he's very public with his abuse.

And just that feeling of like "I am doing everything I can to save my wife, I have become a criminal and have done awful things in the name of love and I just want nothing more than to have her back and You Have Someone Who Loves You That Much, That Much To Become A Criminal As Well And You Repay That Love By ABUSING HER."

Hii! I just saw your genshin tier list, I noticed that there is no fontaine characters, what do you think wriothesley’s tier would be?

You're right, it hasn't been updated since before Fontaine. I'll have to ruminate a bit more on where I'd put them officially but I think so far Lyney would be the only SS tier burper in Fontaine. Then probably Wriothesley and Freminet would be S. And Neuvillette would probably be A tier (entirely that high because of some pretty great art).

Granted this may change as I'm behind and haven't done his character quest yet but this is how I see it so far. I do think that Wriothesley is a big eater in general, though especially of anyone in the Fortress. I'm of two minds here, where he'd either try to have more manners as he's well regarded and slightly elevated in esteem in the prison, but I also can very easily see him wanting to be more on a regular occupants level and to be more approachable so he drops the facade when he wants to. I could see him burping when palling around with other prisoners when drinking alcohol or Fonta (since it literally does nothing but be carbonated and he has high opinions on what it should look and taste like) or he's having to chug water or special rehydrating Fonta during a break in the middle of a Pankration match. Just burp softly before he's going to fight again.

There is the interesting thought thanks to this fantastic comic. Sigewinne, like the other Melusine, doesn't quite understand humans or customs, nor their food. So it's very likely that she may view burps as a sign of satisfaction and health, though may even misunderstand their meaning from their types. It may have even cultivated a culture of burps being acceptable since she watches EVERYONE.

So burping is taken as a sign of good health and good food like it is in some cultures, so when people are well fed like Wriothesley, he'll let out large epic belches to show how stuffed he is. Now she might keep overfeeding him and he's having smaller burps during his meals because he's trying to force himself to eat more, but I could see him patting his bloated belly and letting out an epic belch to show it was a good meal.

The only issue is that Sigewinne may not understand different types of burps, just like she doesn't understand that some foods aren't good for humans. So when she makes others or Wriothesley eat food that disagrees with them, they have a bad stomach gurgle and let out a sickly wet belch as they try to keep down the Melusine food. Those days, Wrio is probably just spending all day burping, rubbing his bloated belly trying to get it to settle. He leans heavily on ginger and lemon tea to try to feel better.

EDIT: You know what, an addendum. I very much forgot about the Fonta Cup.

You can fill it up once you win it and it's very much hinted at that Wriothesley has won it before. He's definitely the type that would win that and have it filled and used as a cup for a while. Despite the disclaimer on it filled, I can very much see Wrio winning and in the moment, just absolutely chugging down the entire contents of the Fonta Cup, his abs swelling out as extra Fonta dribbles down his face and chest and then just letting an absolutely monster burp before cheering and raising it above his head to celebrate winning. He's one of the "few that could swallow the contents in a single swig" and just chug it down. But that gas definitely builds up and he fights it as the carbonation tickles his throat and nose until he finally releases it. Honestly I could see many others in the prison actually praising and cheering him on when he does too.

There is the thought along with that there there is A) Wriotheley has a reputation of being a beast of a burper or B) It's the cause of another mystery of Meropide where there loud noises or moans late at night that no one can explain but they find out the truth that it's actually Wrio burping loud and groaning from eating too much.

“Is life after death real?” Tony asked.

It took a few moments for the words to compute and Stephen blinked as he looked up from his book. “What?”

“Life after death. You seem like the type of person that would know about stuff life that.”

Stephen raised an eyebrow at that. “I do?”

Tony shrugged. “You were the one who taught me that souls were real. Before you I was absolutely adamant that they weren’t. Plus, you’ve died before. Like… a lot.” He winced at the words and Stephen could see that Tony was hoping that hadn’t come off as insensitive.

Stephen wasn’t overly offended. It wasn’t like Tony was wrong.

“My deaths during both of my time loops hardly counted since there was little to no time between them and starting over,” Stephen pointed out. “And the time that Thanos killed all of us was different, we were only sort of dead, contained by the soul stone.”

Tony made a face at that. “So you’re saying that you don’t know?”

Stephen considered that. “Not for sure,” he acknowledged. “There are spells that allow you to talk to someone who has passed on. Though they’re not encouraged. But the fact that you can ‘summon’—“ it wasn’t quite the right word, but it worked for this explanation, ”—a ‘ghost’ it would stand to reason that they must have still been in some realm of existence.”

Tony hummed thoughtfully at that, brows furrowed.

“Why?” Stephen asked, curiosity tugging at him. “You’re not normally philosophical about this sort of thing.”

Tony shrugged. “I’m not exactly philosophical,” he defended, as though that was some sort of slight. But then to Tony, just maybe it was. “I just… I wonder, sometimes, you know. Sometimes… well, sometimes things feel so unfinished. Questions, you know?”

Stephen did. “What exactly are you thinking about?” Stephen asked, sure that there was something.

Tony watched him for a moment, clearly deciding whether this was a vulnerability that he was willing to show Stephen.

Stephen waited patiently. He knew that Tony had shown him more vulnerabilities than he allowed most people to see, but that was no guarantee that he would this time.

“I just… I wonder, sometimes, if I’ve wasted my life.”

Stephen raised an eyebrow at that. “Wasted your life? You? Do you recall working to save half of the universe?”

Tony shrugged. “Sure, but…” He frowned, as though trying to put together the right words. “I’m not sure that was what Yinsen meant.”

Stephen frowned. “What do you mean?”

“Yinsen. He was with me in Afghanistan. He… He saved me. And he… the last thing he told me was to not waste my life. Me. Not Iron Man.”

Stephen considered that. “What do you think he meant, then?”

Tony was quiet for a moment. “He once told me that I was a man with everything and nothing.” There was something in Tony’s eyes, a slow, heavy grief. “I still have everything… I just… sometimes I wonder if I’m any less empty than I was before." Tony looked away, shaking his head as though annoyed with himself. “It’s ridiculous.”

“It’s human,” Stephen contradicted. He reached out, taking Tony’s hand. “And, for what it’s worth, while I won’t claim I’m everything, I hope I count for something.” He met Tony’s eyes. “You have me.” Tony stared at him, awe and hope and pain. Some part of Stephen ached that after all this time Tony still couldn’t bring himself to fully believe it. It wasn’t a slight against Stephen; Tony simply didn’t believe he deserved good things. “You have me.”

One Piece Hunger Games Au

Hunger Games Au! mihawk is a victor, and adopts perona and zoro while they are young, perona is about to age out of reaping and either they both are called naturally or perona is called and zoro volunteered for perona

also, it happens to be the Quarterquell.

The tributes from the 75th annual Hunger Games will feature three from each district, one boy, one girl and one of the district’s previous victors

mihawk is the only victor in their district

now there are multiple ways this could go

1) the great ending is where they do the thing, district 13 busts in and everyone goes to the rebellion

2) the good ending is where zoro and perona are picked up by 13 but mihawk isn’t

mihawk is taken and turned into a mutt, they decided to be clever and use his nickname ‘hawkeyes’ as inspiration and turned him into a harpy, now hes not entirely muttified he actually just looks it and retained all his mental capabilities but they didn’t want that so they use a serum that basically turns you feral the downside (for the capital) is that it can wear off so it has to be constantly injected, so they do that then make the seraphim but they are also little harpies cuz cute and gotta use the natural disinclination towards killing children against the districts, anyway they all imprint on mihawk who imprints on them cuz feral + stressed overprotective dad missing his kids = adoption. anyway either they set them loose or they break out and they are going to the wilderness to live out their days when perona / someone else in the gang stumble upon them, they dont react kindly to most everyone except when either zoro or perona (or shanks) is the one to do it mihawk cuz even feral he can recognize his kids and the seraphim cuz they smell like mihawk (zoro and perona have both taken to wearing one of their dads coats around cuz sad :( anyway they get help and the serum wears off eventually and now mihawk can fly and shanks is a form of furry so yeah! good ending :)

3) bad ending

Perona wakes to the sound of a cannon going off. ‘But i thought it was just me and-‘ Trumpets blared.

Perona didn’t hear.

“CONGRATULATIONS DRACULE PERONA, YOU HAVE WON THE 75TH ANNUAL HUNGER GAMES!” Tears gather in Perona's eyes, she looks over to the side to see a figure leaning against a tree, his throat still leaking blood. “-Dad?”
