This isn’t MLP related necessarily, but I figured my followers on this sideblog are more likely to have experience entertaining kids.

I am looking for fun, kid-friendly songs to learn on my ukulele. They can be from anywhere! I’ve adapted Make a New Friend Every Day already because, since it has no mention of pony-specific stuff, it’s just an adorable song about friendship for any child. I’m also learning some Veggietales songs— even though I’m not Christian, I grew up with it and my neighbors are Christian, and I Can Be Your Friend is an adorable song for Christian children. If it didn’t have a mention of God, it would be fun for any child, too. Maybe I can find a way to modify the lyrics.

So, to anyone who sees this, what songs do you recommend? They can be nursery rhymes, clean radio tunes, songs from TV and movies you like, anything! Please share your favorite songs from when you were a young child :)

For my art I chose to illustrate the song, “Guilty as Sin?” The question mark part of the song title I illustrated as a snake and an apple, drawing upon the imagery of the Garden of Eden. Taylor herself refers to this story in the song, “The Prophecy.” I chose to make the snake a Harlequin Coralsnake. This venomous snake can be found in Florida!!! According to The Florida Museum’s snake identification guide “bites from this species are extremely rare” and virtually all bites from them occur when the snakes are provoked. I hope to tell a story using symbolism with my image like Taylor tells stories with her songs.

I made this by sketching Taylor with my plug-in computer tablet and then illustrating over that drawing in Adobe Illustrator. The drawing of Taylor I made from scratch while referring to a TTPD photoshoot photo.
