You know that “Ha!” Gale does when he dodges an attack? I’m imagining a more good natured version of that. Just, like, a little bark of a laugh.

Funny enough, since I originally used Asena as a serial one shot character, in another life she has actually been in an adventuring party with a lizard wizard (they were not romantically involved and it also may have been a tiny sentient wizard hat controlling a regular lizard).

CHARACTER BIOGRAPHY [TW: ILLNESS, VIOLENCE, DRUGS]

From the moment, Zekai was born it was more than obvious his birth was no because his mother wanted another child, in fact, it was to make sure her first son always had a donor on site. At the age of two, he had gone through various blood tests to see if he would be a good match for everything that could possibly go wrong with Safet and if his father hadn’t put his foot down and demanded the tests be done and over with... who knew what kind of path Zekai would have actually ended up on. But, because of his father’s demands that put more pressure on the youngest Guray to be the son that could “be an actual” man.

Of course, all the resentment Zekai held was never aimed towards his brother. He knew it wasn’t Safet’s fault for being sick and in fact he probably would have done anything to make his brother healthy again so he didn’t have to hear his mother whine over and over about her precious baby boy. He spent most of his teen years, staying out late, getting into fights, and doing things to act out towards being completely unseen in his house. His father did everything he could to train Zekai to be the best and some of those trainings would leave the young Guray black and blue for weeks which he would simply shrug off and make the “you should see the other guy” comments. There was one hobby that Zekai picked up that he could say was his and his alone and it was his guitar. It was the one thing that kept him out of his head when it got too dark.

Zekai took the path of a Koleksi, being the one to collect debts by any force necessary and being someone who initiated people into the Asenas. He does whatever he can to be the “man” in the family and takes that pressure on his shoulders. Once you become a part of his inner circle, you are fiercely protected by him and he is not someone who should be crossed. He has been working in his position for the last six years and kind of expects the worst in everything that comes in his direction.

i love your moth ocs!! may i ask about the Very Large Sword? are they sort of a knight? :)

First off, thank you so much! I’m glad that you like the designs and everything!

As for the sword that Asena has, it’s a saber that she got back in a war that she was involved in. Granted, it wasn’t by choice as her home was attacked and she ended up on the other end of it back then, but now she carries it with her. It serves as a memo of those times and how despite what she went through, she was able to get through it (albeit not in one piece, but she uses the time after her death to better herself, training to become stronger so she can protect herself and those around her far better than she did when that happened).

I also wouldn’t say that she’s a knight specifically, but rather just a fighter in nature. Although when Valerie (the other 1920s flapper moth) and her start going out, she does end up being more of a bodyguard for her of sorts, making sure she’s safe before or after doing her shows or simply just wanting to hang out in her free time. She sees how sweet Valerie can be, just how innocent she is compared to others around them, and Asena can’t help but want to protect that.
