how to keysmash

for beginner queers

the keysmash is an integral part of being queer. we use it to express many emotions, such as anger, frustration, excitement, surprise, laughter, happiness, love, and so many more. a proper keysmash is very important.

when you keysmash, you will want it to be primarily composed of home row letters (home row is circled) and short letters (highlighted in red). an example of a home row keysmash looks like this:

it is important to include some letters that dip below the text line (highlighted in blue) and tall letters (highlighted in green). this will add some much needed variation to a keysmash composed of only short letters.

whereas a keysmash composed of all kinds of letters looks like this:

note the difference.

to recap: a perfect keysmash consists of mostly home row letters, and includes plenty of tall letters and letters that extend under the text row.

I love polls because they give me that same feeling as taking a uquiz. The options lay before me and I get to compare them, like dogs in a dog show. And when I finally determine the best option then I get immediate feedback on how popular my choice was. So I can either feel affirmed because others agree, or feel righteous angor at the foolish masses.

none of you are drawing her feather duster big enough. the stage direction for her feather duster is "enormous". immeditely i am picturing comically large and hard to use. this is because a. i am a theatre bitch who loves farces (and this part of the play is conducted exactly like a farce), and b. i used to be a cleaner. i have much knowledge of feather dusters. trust me when i say it can and, god help me, it MUST be bigger. this has been a psa.
