🌼☀️ Seasons in Waterdeep 🍂❄️

I found these descriptions of the seasons in the city in the Waterdeep: Dragon Heist book and I thought I'd share it with fellow Gale fans:

🌼Spring🌼

In Waterdeep, early spring tends to be cold and damp. Misty rain falls for days on end. It’s common for fog to settle at night and last through the day. As the weather improves, the city attracts more visitors, and the streets become increasingly crowded as summer approaches.

☀️Summer☀️

Summers in Waterdeep are quite comfortable, and it’s a great time for citizens and visitors to congregate outside. The markets are busier than at any other time of year. Sometimes, though, warm air pushes up from the south and settles in the valleys north and east of the city. This air gets trapped, creating a hot spell that might last days or weeks. Activity in the city slows to a crawl, since Waterdavians are unaccustomed to such heat.

🍂Autumn🍂

Throughout autumn, wagonloads of food arrive in Waterdeep from outlying farms. Without this bounty, city folk would starve during the winter. Cold, howling sea winds remind Waterdavians that winter is near.

❄️Winter❄️

Waterdavian winters are harsh. As snow piles up around the city and ice fills the harbor, trade grinds to a halt and the city seals its gates. Citizens willing to brave the cold still gather in local taverns and festhalls, but few venture outside the city walls.

⚔️ 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗺! Axe of Essential Inversion
Weapon (greataxe), legendary (requires attunement) ___ This axe’s mighty twin blades are edged with ruby and sapphire. You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon, which deals an extra 1d12 force damage to any celestial or fiend it hits. 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙨. The axe has 5 charges for the following properties. It regains all expended charges daily at dawn. 𝘽𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩. When you make an attack with this weapon, you can expend 2 of its charges to empower it with planar magic, or 1 charge if the target is a celestial or fiend. If the attack hits, the target is affected by the “banishment” spell (save DC 17). You must concentrate on the spell as normal, but if you fail a Constitution saving throw made to maintain concentration on the spell when you take damage, you can expend 1 of the weapon’s charges to succeed instead. 𝘿𝙞𝙡𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. When you hit a celestial or fiend with this weapon, you can expend 1 of its charges to deal an extra 1d12 force damage. When you do, the target’s essence is diluted until the end of your next turn. For the duration, the target is considered to have no damage resistances, immunities, or vulnerabilities. 𝙄𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣. When you reduce a celestial or fiend to 0 hit points using the axe, you can expend 1 of its charges to force the target to make a DC 17 Charisma saving throw. On a failed save, the target’s sense of self is shattered; it drops to 1 hit point instead, and its alignment is changed. Lawful becomes chaotic, good becomes evil, and vice versa. If its alignment is true neutral or unaligned, or if the target has legendary actions, this property has no effect on it. ___ ✨ Patrons get huge perks! I’ve been have been actively avoiding Tumblr for the past few days. Nothing really personal just wanted to give it a break. Probably going to only check up on this when I go to post. Here’s a Red Dragon for the road. I included an alternate “redder” version, as well as just the lineart because it makes for a pretty good base.
