Status: currently obsessed with the idea of a simulacrum, totally out of spell slots, having served its purpose, discarded and set loose alone in the world (inspired by K2 in Dimension 20's Fantasy High: Junior Year, and the group's out-of-game discussion thereof).

Unable to regain spell slots, and with half the hit points of the person they were created in the image of - but half of a high level caster's hit points is still a lot compared to the average person, and a (say) 17th-level caster's cantrips are plenty devastating to the average person. They might have some unreplenishable class features, as well as some at-will class features. Their skills and saving throws are robust; on the other hand, they have no equipment unless gifted some by their creator. They cannot be healed by healing spells as they are a construct; instead, an alchemical ritual costing 100gp per hit point is required.

That idea - powerful but weak, a person but not, disconnected from their past (or...someone else's past?), hard to kill by the average person they come across but with each hit point functionally unrecoverable - is all I can think about since yesterday.
