Happy 15 years, Starkid! It has become a creative home for me and I have met so many wonderful people who I now call some of my dearest friends. It’s changed the course of my life and I’m forever grateful to folks like Nick and Matt Lang, James Tolbert, Jeff Blim, Clark Baxstresser, Brian Holden and SO many more for giving me a chance. And also to that Darren guy on the set of Glee for telling me “Hey you should meet my friends from Starkid. I think you’d get along.”

It's so funny to me that Starkid's two big ongoing projects are:

-Horror comedy universe filled with death, monsters, explorations of societal and human evil, the world repeatedly ending, and jokes about "dirty girl soup"

-An ever-evolving but always earnest and wholesome 80s style musical about the power of love, community, generosity, and the holiday spirit.

Is it just me or does it feel like ppl aren't treating VHS Christmas Carols and How The Grunch Cribbed Christmas like other Starkid and TCB shows/projects?

Like I just feel like ppl just... Idk aren't talking about them as much as others and like, yeah you could say like "but Hatchetfield and SAF are really the only two that ppl really talk about a lot" and sure but like when something is coming out ppl get hyped about it.

Like when Wayward Guide was coming out everyone was talking about that a ton, sure eventually the talk and hype died out but when it was coming out everyone was talking about it and it took a while for the hype die. With HTGCC barely anyone is talking about it, like not even while it was being released, and with vhsccs the hyped died really quickly.

VHSCCs and HTGCC are Starkid's and TCB's respectively newest full length musicals. And they're so fucking great. If you haven't watched HTGCC please go watch it. If you have an extra $15 to spend go watch vhsccs, and if not you should check out vhscc live.
