Translations never do justice especially in forms like poetry, but Merwin's translation of the Cuban poet's work is considered one of the best as far as translations count and good lord they hit the spot, but I still wonder how it would feel listening to the same in its original composition. Bringing attention back to this poem by Persian poet Saadi as recited by a local nai player, who became known as Uncle Janan after a snippet of his interview became viral where he recites Saadi's lines to express his deep anguish and sadness over the death of his sons who were ambushed and killed on the same day by the Taliban for being serving police in the city of Ghazni. Wailing Like A Dumb Bish

I once wailed like its the end of the world, watching the 2016 Ben-Hur, the movie was ehh I wasn't really into it and didn't focus much but towards the film's end, after Ben-Hur defeated his brother leaving him quite injured, he was left unsatisfied, nothing changed, he had won his fight but he was miserable, nothing changed until he met up with the top dawg Lord Hesus and had a chance for redemption by forgiving his brother. Now i thought i was a pretty composed dude but ideal aside that last few minutes of conflict hit me so hard I was wailing like I lost my baby, if a priest saw me i would have been exorcised immediately. The Ben Hur 2016 movie might have been a flop commercially but for that small moment, it shall remained a special movie for the rest of my life. That's just how cinema works, sometimes you relate with certain moments so much, they become important regardless of imdb ratings and box office hits.
