Dark Days, Rebirth Revelations Loom in DC’s June Solicits Highlights

Dark days are coming to the DC Universe — “Dark Days: The Forge,” that is.

The Batman-fueled one-shot arrives at the head of DC Comics’ solicitations for June 2017. Co-written by Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV with art by Andy Kubert and more, the issue leads into the publisher’s massive summer event, promising a revelation about one of the DCU’s “most legendary heroes.”

“‘Dark Days’ posits a mystery that traces all the way back to when I started on ‘Batman.’” Snyder said in a statement. “I’ve hinted at them over the years with Easter eggs and clues. This is a mystery that literally begins at the dawn of man and spans generations of heroes and villains and ultimately leads to huge revelations about the past, present and future of the cosmology of DC. I couldn’t be more excited for ‘Dark Days.’ It’s the prelude to the event we’ve been developing for years.”

Of course, “Dark Days: The Forge” is hardly the only game in the DCU this summer; the remainder of DC’s solicitation text and art for June 2017 is filled with major developments, including but not limited to even more clues regarding the continually unfolding Rebirth mystery.

First, a number of Rebirth relaunches hit their 25th issues in June, and receive the oversized issue treatment in celebration. Those series celebrating the milestone will feature 40-page stories, and cover prices of $3.99 or 4.99.

Artist Stjepan Ejic makes his DC Comics debut, joining Dan Abnett on “Aquaman” with Issue #25. The issue also kicks off a new storyline following the deposing of Arthur as Atlantis’ king.

The origin of the new Oracle begins to be revealed in “Source Code,” the latest story arc of “Bartgirl and the Birds of Prey.” The solicitation text also teases that we’ll learn the identity of the person who trained him, and who he owes.

Not only will “Batman” begin to explore what the dark Knight will do once he and the Flash wrap their investigation of the Comedian’s smiley face button in Issue #24, Issue #25 will kick off “The War of Jokes and Riddles.” Illustrated by Mikel Janin, the storyline is compared to “Year One” and “Long Halloween,” and promises to show “a side of Batman you’ve never seen before.”

Meanwhile, Zatanna is brought into the Rebirth mystery, as Batman tracks down his former Justice League teammate (We think – is that still canon in the New 52?) to discuss some of the secrets he earned during the events of the Flash crossover, “The Button.”

Star City makes its Rebirth debut in “Green Arrow” #24, as the city currently known as Seattle is given a new name.

In “Wonder Woman” #25, Greg Rucka is joined by artists Liam Sharp and Bilquis Lively to bring the previous 24 issues of stories, told in two different time periods, together for an oversized finale.

The anticipated DC Comics/Looney Tunes crossover one-shots arrive in June, finally putting to rest the argument over who’s the meanest, toughest, rip-roarin-est hombre whatever packed a six shooter: Jonah Hex, or Yosemite Sam. DC is also re-releasing the orginal crossover between the two universe with a collected edition of Joe Staton, Mike DeCarlo and Tom Palmer’s 2000 miniseries.

Mark Russell and Steve Pugh’s experimental “The Flintstones” comes to a conclusion with the release of Issue #12.

Stanley “Artgerm” Lau tackles Death of the Endless for his final DC Cover Girls statue. The series will continue, however, with DC promising the announcement of the popular collectible series’ next artist coming soon.

Cassio jadi satu-satunya pemain asing musim lalu yang diperpanjang kontraknya. CEO Barito Putera Hasnuryadi Sulaiman, membeberkan alasan mempertahankan Cassio De Jesus. Pesepakbola berusia 30 tahun tersebut diberi perpanjangan kontrak selama satu musim. Cassio jadi satu-satunya pemain asing dari musim lalu yang bertahan. Penampilan gemilang yang diperlihatkannya sepanjang Liga 1 2019, digelar jadi penyebabnya. Hasnur pun berharap Cassio bisa menampilkan performa lebih baik lagi di musim 2020. Ia merasa karakter permainannya sesuai dengan skema permainan Barito Putera di bawah kendali Djadjang Nurdjaman. "Dia permintaan langsung dari coach Djanur [sapaan Djadjang]. Salah satu kelemahan Barito Putera pada musim lalu adalah pertahanan. Tapi alhamdulillah setelah diisi Cassio bisa menutupi kelemahan itu," kata Hasnur. Nantinya, Cassio bakal berkolaborasi dengan OK John yang baru direkrut Barito Putera. Selain itu, ada sejumlah pemain muda yang akan membantu mereka dalam mengawal lini belakang Laskar Antasari. "Kalau sebelumnya berpasangan dengan pemain muda, sekarang kami datangkan pemain berpengalaman seperti OK John. Pemain muda tentu kami tetap persiapkan karena sebuah tim bukan dua pemain saja karena kompetisi yang panjang," ujarnya. "Dandi Maulana tetap kami pertahankan dan ada juga yang kami promosikan dari tim Barito U-20. Harapan kami dengan para pemain tersebut dapat memperkuat lini pertahanan musim ini," tambahnya.
