👟 some basic cardio 🎓 validated and signed my internship declaration form 🎓 spoke to my profs and discussed about the final course specialization 🍬 went book shopping! most of it was just me gazing longingly at the books i'm too broke to buy xD but i bought TBOSAS! my thg collection is finally complete ^=^ 👟 walked home 🩰 danced for a while 🥘 helped with dinner 📤 booked tickets 💧 ~6 glasses 🌙 12am 🔋 kind of overwhelmed with a lot of things lately and... i think i should spend the next few days sorting through that before i resume with work/study related tasks

Little things to upgrade your morning routine

Always start your morning with a nice drink like a coffee, matcha, or tea.
Say good morning to your pets, you can also text your friends and maybe, make some plans!! <3
Set an alarm so you wake up on time and don't feel rushed, for me, it's usually enough to just sleep with my blinds open!! :)
Open your windows to let some fresh air in, also make sure to check if any of your plants need water!!
Make-up and music. I love doing my make-up while listening to one of my playlists, it's the perfect way to set the mood <3
Positive affirmations!! You can write them on sticky notes and put them on your mirror so you'll see them while getting ready!! :)
Prepare a cute outfit the night before, and make sure to check the weather so you can plan ahead!
Don't skip breakfast, If you are busy, you can meal prep some overnight oat or chia pudding the night before.
Try reading at least 10 pages in the morning, it will help you feel more refreshed.
Make sure to check your bag, so you don't forget things like your lip combo, keys, and headphones!! Nothing worse than sitting on the subway without headphones (me rn) :((

AN EARLY START ;
the only way that i can enjoy my mornings is if i have plenty of time to do what i need, without being too in a rush yk? so i'll sleep early and wake up relatively early so that i have adequate time to myself.

another thing that i have been incorporating into my morning routine is no scroll mornings bcuz i dont want doom scrolling to sap up my getting ready time in the morning, cuz im worth every minute of time i put into preparing myself for a successful day.
MORNING WORKOUT ;
i almost always work out in the morning, the only time that i won't is if i wanna head to the gym later on in the day, after school or whatever. so i always leave out weights and resistance bands for myself to use in the morning.
i have the workout that im doing already decided in my agenda on my notion and one that i do often, i'll link right here bcuz its rly easy and light for the morning which is just what i like.
ADEQUATE PAMPER TIME ;
i want to have as much time as possible to make myself look my very best bcuz getting dolled up and pampering myself helps me just as much mentally as it does physically.
before i take my shower and get ready and alladat i always have some chlorophyll water first thing bcuz its easily absorbed first thing in the morning along with lots of other benefits which i talked about in the it girls magazine.
HEADSPACE ;
i always wanna start my day off by being in the right headspace so as i go about my morning i like to say/think affirmations that are more self concept focused to get me in the best headspace before starting my day.
this is a rly short post but i like to keep my morning routine pretty simple cuz most of the intricacies of it involve my pamper time and routine but i like to just have time to relax ✨

4.05.2024 // an overview of my april'24.
I've been trying to keep a track of how I spend my days. It is hard to not be harsh on myself when I see how many 'break' days I took, but then I have to remind myself that I took those days off for a reason – be it to travel, to explore the city, to do chores or simply because I knew that I wouldn't be productive that day. I started off with a simple tracker but I hope to gradually build on it and adapt it in an useful manner.

breaktime! as mentioned in my previous entry, I've been kind of overwhelmed about things, so I decided to spend the weekend like it's a weekend and take it easy on myself
👟 walked to the station 💌 met the loml @anyawritesinsong after months! I wasn't able to stay long though :( 💌 made a new friend! reached out to an alumni of the uni im going to join for masters and she was the sweetest ever <3 📤 found out info about accommodation near uni campus 📤 currently apt hunting + finding roommates + related discussions 🍬 journalling 💌 hung out with my sister, my cousin and my aunt
i've decided that im going to take it bit by bit with this challenge. as much as i want to be super productive and implement certain actions as a habit, i feel like i end up getting too anal about it and then everything falls apart eventually.
like. i literally just completed my undergrad and i can and should be taking it easy until August when my masters starts (and it all gets hectic again), but instead of doing that, I extended my internship and planned to write GRE in this lil pocket of time and. yeah. i feel like i'm always expecting myself to perform rather than just. exist. it's extremely unhealthy. and while it's too late to withdraw from the things im committed to, the least i can do is not put additional pressure on myself, which i have the tendency to do. a lot.

the best night routines start in the morning
tips from an anxious psychology student who loves sleep 💤

🌅 todos whenever you wake up:
our brains are wired to notice contrast, so take this time to show your brain what it's like to be awake! the more you wake up, the more you can wind down later~ some suggestions:
wash your face
brush your teeth
eat something!! (then take your supplements, don't take them on an empty stomach)
make your bed (for max freshness when you go back to sleep though, i recommend you leave your bed to air for at least a few hours)

☀️ todos throughout the day:
now our goal is to tire ourselves out enough so that we can have happy sleeps later! we need to focus on both the mental and physical aspects of this. some suggestions:
exercise
learn something new
get sunlight (no, vitamin D doesn't count, although you should be taking your required supplements)
experience an emotional rollercoaster (not exactly recommended as it may backfire in the form of keeping you awake with a spiral of uncontrollable thoughts)

🎑 todos before bed:
the moment we've all been waiting for has arrived! while going to bed at a regular time helps with conditioning yourself to fall asleep, sometimes that's just not possible, so here are some other suggestions:
check your wake up alarms (are they set for the latest possible time? do you actually need an alarm?)
lie down in the dark while having a nonsensical conversation with yourself (our brains automatically tune out stuff that don't make sense, so trick your brain into tuning itself out — especially helpful in the event of an emotional rollercoaster kind of day)
use a comfortable sleep mask (blocks out all light even from peripheries but still allows you to breathe comfortably, isn't too tight around the head)
earbuds make pretty good earplugs or you can play white noise/soothing music/etc. to block out louder noises

How to start your day on a positive note:

- drink your water as soon as you wake up and take any vitamins/medicines so avoid forgetting them
- i find that sitting up or propping myself up helps me not to fall back asleep in the mornings and stay productive
- set a list of realistic goal or expectations for the day - don’t push yourself - i use MinimaList and i love it
- open your shades and let natural light into the room
- surround yourself with positive energy whether that be reading a book, or watching a youtube video that grounds you
- meditation always helps to centre myself for the day or yoga and stretching
- fuel your body - if your like me and don’t like eating in the mornings try a smoothie or yogurt
- get some fresh air - whether that’s opening a window, drinking your coffee outside or going for a walk
- deal with any small tasks in the morning to help deal with the workload and focus on longer tasks
- do your skincare routine and brush your teeth - keep clean !
- pick an outfit you feel comfortable and happy in and that makes you feel your best
- take deep breaths and practice steady breathing
- be kind to yourself mentally and physically your body is doing so many amazing things nurture it
