-classic fave of mine is that dukes career as a forever dm started when he ran a campaign for a bunch of older kids when he was like 10 at the library

-and dukes favorite place was DEFINITELY the library when he was a kid. it was like baby's first mutual aid. he always returned his books on time. If there was an event, he was there, elaine and doug made sure of it. he feels like a know it all kid, the type who got in trouble for reading books about wizards under the desk instead of paying attention

Your ask and my answer don’t actually involve owlbears, but I just really like them, lol. And the scene above is my favorite part of the DnD movie.

First of all, Jason would definitely be a home brew character in a game where the player is friends with the DM. 😉 Jason is so complex, it’s impossible to slot him neatly into all of the DnD rules (he definitely wouldn’t be optimized, lol, but boy would he be fun to play).

Alignment is the easiest - he’s definitely chaotic good. He acts as his conscience directs, with little regard for what others expect (PHB 5th Ed). He doesn’t care about laws but he has a strong sense of justice, and he’s willing to do whatever is necessary to achieve what he thinks is right.

For his class, he’d start out as a Rogue, he relays on skill, stealth, and his foes vulnerabilities to get the upper hand in any situation, he has a knack for finding the solution for just about any problem (PHB 5th Ed). At level three he’d take the thief subclass. But, after level 8 (read: his death in Ethiopia) he’d multi-class. Here’s where it get’s complicated, and I can see it going a bunch of different ways. My partner and I came up with half a dozen options talking through this last night, but these are my two favorite:

Option 1: He’d multi-class as a dex-based Vengeance Paladin. He’s sworn an oath of vengeance to set right that which has gone wrong, his own purity is not as important as delivering justice (PHB 5th Ed). At surface level, this might sound like Bruce’s class, but the key here is that a Vengeance Paladin is willing to sacrifice even their own righteousness to meet out justice upon those who do evil.

Option 2: He’d switch his subclass to assassin (home brew, remember), and he’d start taking levels as a dex-based Fighter with the Samurai subclass, his resolve is nearly unbreakable, his enemies have two choices: yield or die fighting (Xanathar’s Guide to Everything).

In either option, he’d dual wield finesse weapons skinned to be his kris and a handgun.

I think he’d have a custom backstory, something centered around being a foundling given his history of atypical adoptions, first by Bruce and then Talia.

I’ve had this idea for the past month. I love fantasy and I want to try mixing between heroes and fantasy after binge reading dark knights of steel 😭😭 so I tried to draw Jason Todd in his DnD inspired costume (it isn’t that good since im very much using elements from the original design of jason from dkos and his current design by Pete Woods) but I’m trying to understand more about dnd and fantasy stuff 🥹👉👈 I’m an avid fan but I’m also from a country that’s not known for dnd so i might get things very wrong sobs

So basically, I’m thinking about the bat folks gathering around and play a game of DnD, Jason is a nerd, so he would very much enjoy the whole thing. His character is an archer (since he’s a master marksman), human race, made a pact with the devil to come back to life and successfully protected his village at the cost of being ostracized. Now he operates as a ghost vigilante whose luck is just perfect enough to be paired with Dick and Tim (lol)

Stay tuned, I’ll slowly work on the others too. You guys have any suggestion to which class and race the other batfam member should be? Feel free to drop a comment 😭 and pls forgive me if I got anything wrong or too cringey

Headcanon but with TimCon

Like can you imagine Tim absolutely loving dnd and playing with his friends quit frequently (it was actually Jason who showed it to him) and somehow becoming the forever dm that always has to host.

Everyone loves when Tim hosts at his house because of the fact he has a whole room dedicated to being the dm. A while table, the figurines, the spreadsheets, the snacks and anything else you could think of.

Now the part everyone hates. Tim is a prodigy he is smart and cunning and makes the most difficult quests he can come up with and those plans that the players can sometimes get around if they use what's around them? Gone there is nothing but plan after plan of curated actions that he finds joy torturing others.

The thing is conner doesn't understand any of it and everyone always gets mad cause when conner plays Tim will always make slight adjustments. Only sometimes because he still finds joy in torturing his boyfriend who only wants to see him because they have been playing for 6 hours straight.

Conner however has once or twice stolen his folder and looked at the plans for the next session on occasion and when he does he absolutely obliterates all of Tim's plans. Everyone is flabbergasted and in awe and Tim is pouty cause he immediately knows conner peaked.

After the 3rd time he's banned from being a player but that doesn't mean he doesn't go around being a menace when he can. Especially if it means he can get his hands on free food.

The other potential of this is Tim and Jason convincing the batfamily to have a game night and it turns out to be dnd. The groaning and whining they do but they try to be hopeful that it'll be quick cause Tim said it was a one shot so nothing to long.

Nope it's 7 hours and steph and Cass are laughing cause they are the only ones who are able to figure anything out and got some really good stats. Dick is dead and in the corner cause he aged past his years. Damian is foaming at the mouth cause his halfing just got eaten by a mimic.

Duke tried to be nice to an npc and got stabbed four times because of it. Bruce is trying desperately to keep good faith but he's watching his paladin get thrown off the table (he goes to sit with his oldest in the corner)

Jason is sitting at the end throwing spell after spell but getting horrible rolls and is about to throw the table.

Alfred is the only one still standing beside steph and Cass and is quit proud of himself (but that is also because Tim has made sure Alfred got nothing but the best stats possible)

Ok so I might write a fic on this so it would be awesome. So lmk if I should also someone let me know what they think what dnd race each member of the batfamily would be!!
