The High King and Talons

This is sort of like Ghost (the band), but it's Danny and his collection of talons who started following him instead of the Court of Owls. Danny decides to start a band with the talons so that they learn to be their own people and have fun doing it.

The Batfam are confused at the new band that started up in Gotham with at least 10 talons playing music and singing in it.

Batfam Band AU

Here's what I like to think all the Batfamily members (the kids) listen to

Dick Grayson - I think he listens to a lot of Folk/Country music because it was the type of music they played while traveling in the circus. Though, I would like to also think that growing up, he would listen to a lot of Radio Pop to assimilate

Jason Todd - my boy is a theater kid, but I feel like he would also listen to a lot of oldies music, 70s/80s hits, because that's what Cathrine would play around the house. I also think that a lot of his bonding with Dick came from a sharing music tastes together, so he does appreciate Folk and Country music. I also think that Jason will listen to any music anyone puts on and he'll enjoy it. Like, he's not picky, and he's allowed Aux because he knows what type of music everyone likes.

Tim Drake - Indie music. Timbers is a skater boi with depression and anxiety. If he's playing music for other people, like in a car, it'll probably be stuff like The Arctic Monkeys, and the Neighborhood, but if he's alone he's definitely staring at a wall listening to Boygenius, Lizzy McAlpine, and Conan Gray (But he is so Guts, by Olivia Rodrigo coded)

Cass - Rock/Heavy metal, or classical music. there is no in between and I feel like i don't need to explain myself

Stephanie - I feel like her music taste is really similar to Tims, but she's more open about listening to Lizzy McAlpine, Phoebe Bridgers, and she probably listens to Lana Del Ray.

Duke - R&B. I'm pretty sure that's the general fandom consensus. Steve Lacy, The Weeknd, Frank Ocean, ect. He'll be singing "Die for You" and Bruce immedietely bans the song because Duke is currently the only child to not have died.

Damian - he says he listens to Classical music, but he's really listening to the Steven Universe soundtrack through his earbuds. The only person who knows this is Jason, and then Jason gets him into musical soundtracks.

They all will belt Taylor Swift anytime any day. Especially to bug Bruce

I'm sorry for my drawing style, and I confess that I was inspired by Ai Yazawa because I don't know how to draw people with guitars (actually I'm terrible in everything oh well…) (then Nana is one of my favorite manga, so maybe there's a reason why I chose her)

Summary:

Harper and Cullen had been crossing the state in hope of small places that will allow them to play. They meet two girls on a parking lot, and maybe this is the beginning of everything. Prompt: Band AU

Word count: 547

“Hey.”

Harper turned back, ready to fight. A classical reflex for a young woman on the parking lot of a shitty bar in Fucktown Nowhere, NJ. But the person who talked to her didn’t seem to mean her harm.

It was a girl, with blond hair going down in her shoulder and a leather jacket opened on a purple shirt. Next to her was another, smaller but bulkier girl, all in black.

“Hey,” she replied, still a little cautious. Just because they looked safe, didn’t mean they were. From the car, she saw Cullen make her a sign to come back, but she signaled him to wait just a minute, and be ready to start if needed.

“I liked what you played tonight. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a sound like this before.”

She snorted. “Yeah, I made some modification to my amp. You wouldn’t hear that elsewhere.” And she wasn’t half proud of it. Still, without connections, the only places that let them play were the ones like this one. “But you’re not here to talk to me about my guitar, are you?”

The woman looked annoyed. “Yeah, we have a bit of a car problem.”

Yeah, and wasn’t that a big red flag. Two girls, with a car problem. That was how every kidnapping story started. But on the other end, if it was true, leaving two girls with a car issue in the middle of the night, would be more than an asshole move.

She took a deep breath. Well, there was a reason she learned how to fight. “I… handle myself when it comes to mechanics. I might be able to help.”

The blonde girl let out a small laugh. “Um, no, there is a misunderstanding. I mean we had to abandon the car we stole because the cops were after us.”

She let out a breath. That made it safer. Not by much, but that made it safer. “Let me guess, though childhood?”

“Yeah, but we’re not dangerous, I swear. And if you give us a ride, we might be helpful.”

She raised an eyebrow. “How so?”

“I handle myself around a clavier, and,” she nodded to the girl behind her, “she can play violon. Don’t you guys want to make your sound even more original?”

That was… not a bad offer. With Cullens drums, her guitar, and these two girls… maybe there was something to make. “We would need a bass. And a singer.”

“My ex-boyfriend can play bass, I mean, right now he’s on the other side of the country, taking a road trip after his dad death, but I can contact him. He’s about as lost as we are anyway. Might as well be lost together.”

“That sounds like a terrible idea. I’m in.” She extended her arm. “My name is Harper. The drummer is my brother, Cullen.”

The girl took it. “Stephanie. And this is Cass.” Cass waved. “She doesn’t talk much with her voice. But you’ll hear her talk with her bow.”

Harper opened the car door. “Well then, come on in,” she said.

Maybe she was making a terrible mistake. Or maybe she was starting a formidable adventure.

There was no way to tell, but she relished in the expectation of what would come next.

The Robins Band AU Lore that nobody asked for

I'm writing a DC Band AU with the Robins and a couple of OCs. Here's lore that I created instead of actually writing.

Wayne Recording Studios was built after Bruce Wayne retired as Batman (DJ or singer idk)

Dick is lead singer

Jason is electric guitar

Tim is bass/keyboard (since he's good with technology he figured out a way to get his keyboard to repeat chords while he plays bass and can also change/add chords into the mix)

Damian is drummer

At one point, they [The Robins] broke up and went solo, though that didn’t last very long

The boys went under their respective superhero names

Dick - Nightwing

Jason Todd because a masked DJ called Red Hood (like Marshmello or Daft Punk) it wasn’t until after they reunited that he announced he was Red Hood

Tim Drake went solo and simple, though he rebranded a few times: Red Robin and Drake. They say his failed solo career was one reason for a reunion. He used a lot of launch pads as well as his repeating chord technique.

Damian actually wasn’t around when they split

Cass joined at some point, coming on as their sound mixer under the name of Black Bat

Broke away and started her own thing under Orphan

Steph started a band, which Cass is apart of, called Spoiler Alert

Babs is stage manager/tech director ofc, though back in the day, she started out with the name Batgirl under the Wayne Recording Studios but went solo for a bit as Oracle.

Duke is new and helps Babs out with stage managing. He guest plays with the Robins as a DJ. Often MCs for shows. Just getting the feel for the music world

Our second DCXDP au has Danny hiding in Gotham with the cores of Dani, Dan and two other clones who survived. They need DNA to be able to reform but it's in a ‘it doesn't have to be now’ kind of way. Not just Danny’s DNA but another to to balance out their genes.

They'll become babies and be raised up. Dani was melting but forced Danny to promise he wouldn't find someone right away he'd take his time to fall in love first. Dan did the same and the twin clones did to.

Danny decides it's a good idea but keeps the cores safe. He ran to Gotham in the DC universe because the GIW were to close to killing him. His parents, Jazz, Sam, Grandma Ida and the Foleys all followed. Grandma Ida is running some gang down in crime alley having a blast with Sam, constantly trying to hook Sam up with Jason who Ida is in a turf war with. Tucker is happily running a tech company that will soon outstrip it's competitors., his parents helping Jazz is terrifying in Arkham as she tears our corruption.

Maddie abd Jack found out about the Leauge of Assassins and went: study time. Danny, knowing its corrupted ecto and also not wanting to deal with assassins lets then have fun. So Ra’s is dealing with liminal mad scientists who keep stealing the Pits and also have uncovered two Damian clones they kidnapped. Their kids now.

But we’re focusing on Danny who is in college and living a peaceful life which is what he wants most of all. The cores of his kids are always on him just in case and he's casually dating. It's great. He can just be Danny the guy who is super into space and plans on being a mechanic for the watch tower.

Then one day Two-Face attacks the cafe he's at (because of a sale it was having where it was two for one on some sort of new treat). Danny has to run for his life. He gets hit and the bag he has the cores in is harmed. One falls out and he freaks, diving for it. He grabs it just as Black Bat swoops in to save him. She flies him up to a roof.

They land and then she moves to grab one of the cores that fell out. Danny gets antsy but it requires skin contact so it should be okay, she's wearing gloves after all. It'll be fine!

On her part, Cass is wondering why her hand feels tingly but there isn't anything malicious in the mans face so she thinks it might just be the orb she caught being weird. She swings off, noting that she has a hole in her glove.

Danny goes home and doesn't think about it until he realizes that the core the hero touched is growing. And it's getting sick without the touch of its other parent.

Cass on the other hand feels strange. Like she's pulled somewhere. She instantly thinks of the guy and alerts the others to him. They hunt him down to find him on a rooftop. He's surprised to see them, holding an Orb that’s glowing.

“I thought it would take longer…” the man says. He shakes his head. “Umm… rip the band-aids off- I'm nottotslly human.”

The Batfam kinda pauses cause he's giving this info up for free. Cass is eyeing him closely. It's just her, Batman and Robin in front of the man. Everyone else is listening in or in the shadows.

“I ran away from my home dimension cause they were hunting me down to kill me because they believed I was non-sentient. You know sad trench- I mean, John Constantine? I think he put in the word we’re friendly,” the man babbles. The orb shines. “Okay, okay. I need to… Black Bat did your glove have a hole in it when you touched this?”

Cass hums but nods. Barbara has Constantine on the line (and no one wants to know the blckmail she has to make him answer) and he's confirming it's a friendly.

“Okay, okay… this is a Core and it's the heart, soul, brain, everything of an ecto-entity like me. And it… it’s my child. But it needed a second set of DNA. It's fine dormant, it doesn't hurt the baby. But it…” the man swallows. “Skin touch.”

Cass knows in a second what he's leading up to. She touched the orb. It needed DNA.

That's her baby in his hands.

Que the chaos.
