Mousequerade Ball …ᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷ♡ ༘*.゚
《Stray!Au Dick Grayson / Reader》
{In which you play "princess" in hopes of saving one. Too bad theives and mercs are on your tail.}
-
"(Y/N), you gotta sit still." Barbra chides, wiping away the smeared lip gloss on your cheek. Re-applying the expenisve brand as you try not to sweat away your make-up.
"I-I know.. Just, nervous."
The red-head smiles in reassurance, petting your flushed skin.
"So your going to a party, big deal."
Your eyes widen. "Babs, I have to protect a princess and her jewelry from a hit! Not only that but-" You ramble, frazzeld as your friend sighs at the mess of gloss.
-
Adjusting the mask, you wore, walking carefully, you started looking around for anyone suspicous! But given strange looks by other party guests, you bashfully stood beside the wall. Hoping for the mission to be over as a bigger body slides up to you.
"Hello again, Mouse."
You froze, feeling a hand slide to your shoulder, shifting to your neck then tracing over your ear until taking hold of you left earring carefully. Breaking it in peices as you stood motionlessly.
Crying in your head, knowing Bruce will get so mad at the broken intercom as you glare at Deathstroke. Knowing it'd be badly timed to catch him, you prayed that Batman or Batgirl were close by.
"Hi..." Your brows furrow, pouting as you hold your dress. Taking a step away, huffing as you do your best to ignore him. While he chuckles mockingly stepping on the long fabric of your gown. Causing you to yelp and wobble in your steps Catching the attention of a curious eyed-cat burglar.
-
Moon-eyed, you avert your gaze to the side. Bodies flushed together as the thief leads you in the dance.
Gripping your chin, Stray smiles down at you. Making sure your eyes were on him than anyone else. Your lashes flutter slighly, accepting his grip. Letting him indulge in your innocent gaze as he smiles. Not the usual smirks and cocky remarks. Genuine as his eyes gleam with hidden desires.
His hands gently tracing your waist as the two sway. The song slowly ends, instead of leaving your side. His grip on you become tighter, letting out a suprised squeak, he eagerly grabs and drags you along.
Quietly whinning a protest as he shushed you, making sure you were in his arms.
-
A minute pass midnight, you leave Batman's side as he and Commissioner Gordon talked about the events that transpired.
With a busted lip and tattered dress, you sit on one of the balcony benches, raising your right let. Wincing when seeing the bloodied heel of your foot dripping into the shoes soles.
Taking off the plastice, glass-like heel, you notice one was missing!
Where could of it gone!?
B' was gonna give you hell in training for this...

[Something I came up with that didn't fit in Mouse-Trap! Fan art, asks, comments and reblogs are appcriated!]

Each of the Batfamily members have moments that genuinely scare the others.
For Cass, the family generally tries not to piss her off from a consensus that she'll win any fight.
Damian is usually not feared, especially when he's making assassination attempts or insults. When he becomes silent and an animal is involved, that's when the Bats start to freak out.
Duke doesn't mean to be scary. He'll just casually mention something he's done or react to someone instinctively with his powers. This reminds the others why he usually handles the day shift alone.
Dick has two settings to set his family instantly on edge: The first is when he lacks a smile or quips. This is usually reserved for enemies. The second is when he -is- smiling, but it's not right. He only does this allies who are about to be verbally or physically eviscerated.
Steph will lack any visible emotion in her face.
Jason's scary to his family when he makes biting remarks or starts to monologue. He usually follows those up with physical retaliation or some dastardly plans.
Babs uses her "Customer Service" voice as the last warning before your tech or reputation is destroyed.
Tim will either disappear without warning (to make some heinous schemes), or he'll pull out the Drake™ smile.
Bruce just starts talking about emotions.
For Alfred, there'll be dirty dishes in the sink.
