Batkids calling Bruce when they need him.

Dick gets arrested for underage drinking call my dad now he's not in the slightest scared but he wants his dad. Bruce who already got bail done and is wrapping Dick in a blanket.

Jason crashes a car already on the phone with Bruce who is speeding to him.

Tim is falling asleep at the office and wants to go home dad please pick me up. Waking up tucked in Bruce's bed.

Damian gets in a fight at school you call my father right now. He suspended but Bruce hugs him on the way out.

Cass standing face to face with David Cain the man who should have been her father but isn't but before she can scream for Bruce she's wrapped in his cape.

Duke calling Bruce because the kids at school have never been nice to a kid from the wrong side of the tracks and getting ice cream just because.

Stephanie just calling Bruce to talk knowing no matter how busy he is there will be time for her.

Babs who even though Jim Gordon is a great man after a nightmare about the joker only wants one man. Bruce running in the middle of the night to her door. Wrapping his batgirl in his arms.

Kids who aren't afraid to call Dad. He wont be mad he wants them to call. To know he will drop everything to get to his boys, or his girls. Scared birds shouting for the big bad bat and he comes running.

Bruce who has no idea how terrifying he actually is.

Tim one day decides that his boredom overrides his siblings' need for peace and quiet. So, like the little agent of chaos he is, he brings up the dreaded question.

"In your unbiased opinion, who's the strongest in the family?"

Immediately all of them go, "Cass." She's smiling shyly about it, but there's a silver of assured confidence in there.n

Tim sighs. Fine. Too easy. " Okay, maybe that narrows it down. Who's most dangerous? I vote Dick."

Dick doesn't even need to think about it. "Aw, thanks, Timmy! I think I'm gonna go with Ja--" Damian's holding a dangerously sharp pencil to his windpipe. "Dami. Of course it's Damian."

Jason scoffs, "Clearly, it's me. That's like, my whole thing remember? I'm the violent robin--"

"Todd, we all know you gave stickers and cartoon bandages to every Rogue you had to arrest. You had gumball smoke bombs." Jason's 100% turning red and Tim is so gonna tease later.

"Besides, both you and Grayson are wrong."

Damian? Giving someone else credit? That, they have to hear. "Who is it, then?"

"It's Baba, obviously."

Jason breaks in a fit of laughter, alongside them. "Oh come on! Bruce? Bruce, who bakes awful vegan cupcakes for the PTA? He literally starts crying everytime we watch Toy Story 3."

"Because the unethical treatment within prison complexes and unfair labor laws forced upon inamtes parallels gets to him! Nevertheless. Baba could defeat mother. What makes you think he'd have a hard time with you?"

Dick snorts, " I think you're being a bit biased,--"

Damian throws a batarang at Bruce, slicing through the air with a quickness.

Their dad is reading reports, but not only does he evade it, sends it back with venomous speed. Right next to Damian's cheek. A purposeful missed shot.

Later, after they recovered from that whiplash, they ask Bruce the same question, and he of course goes with the most logical answer, " Alfred. But I think any of you could defeat me easily."

That doesn't make them feel better at all.

An AU where Batman when Jason dies, comes up with dark reasons why keeping villains alive is better than killing them. And it continues to get darker and more detailed the longer he’s in grief.

So when Tim become Robin he keeps on accidentally hearing Batman mutter to himself stuff like:

“Death is a mercy they doesn’t deserve”

“My revenge is something hell can’t reproduce”

“Let justice decide their fate”

“I won’t become like them. I’ll become worse, and I’ll do it while keeping to my rules”

and he just has to sit there pretending he can’t hear as Batman lists horrible reasons why keeping all the villains alive is better then just straight up killing them for his own sanity.

so early Tim’s motto when he wanted to kill a villains who was hurting people close to him and 100% deserved to die was:

“If i kill them now my revenge will end and hell’s will begins. I have to keep them alive so mine can continue”

Ofc as Batman recovers from all the grief of losing his son, and training the new Robin, he slowly stops thinking and saying stuff like that. Tim also knows that this thought process is wrong but it never fully goes away….

Years later when everyone is hanging out, Jason is complaining about why they have to keep the Joker alive and Tim just says what he used to say to himself all the time, out loud.

Tim: “if you kill the joker now your chance at revenge ends and hell’s begins, death is a mercy he doesn’t deserve. keep him alive, show him what hell wishes they could.”

And there’s just horrified and concerned looks from everyone in the room.

I just really miss pre 2000s Batman. The one that didn’t abuse the kids he saved up from abusive homes and from the streets, the one that loved and raised them. That mourned them and grieved hard enough Alfred thought Bruce would kill himself. Yes he trained them and pushed them to the brink but he still loved them. Ferociously. Step to his family and he steps to you in his 300,000 dollar rich man loafers.

Fic: The Business Card, Chapter 2 (final)

Summary: The Red Hood has a business card. If he gives it to you, it means you're under his protection.

Bernard Dowd has one of these cards.

Bernard Dowd is kidnapped anyway.

Bernard Dowd's kidnappers don't have a very good time.

In this chapter: Bernard is returned safely to Tim, whose love-language is overly obsessive security measures and invasions of privacy. Dick wants to hug everyone. Jason needs a smoke. Bruce is there too.

Excerpt:

Tim’s eyes were tightly closed and he rocked himself and Bernard, shifting his weight from foot to foot like he wasn’t aware he was doing it. “There'll be electrified traps and sensors around each of your windows and all access points into the building. I’m also thinking of getting double-glazing and organising bulletproof glass, maybe a panic room and definitely a tracers that can be sewn into all of your clothes-“

“Tim.” Bernard’s voice was slightly strangled now. “Ribs.”

Tim jumped back, pulling his hands away sharply. “Sorry! Ohmygosh, I didn’t-“ His gaze turned to Hood, who was rearming the new security on Bernard’s window. “You swung him through the city with BROKEN RIBS???” His voice reached a near-shriek.

You know what I want to see more of Batman who is still scary even after knowing him.

Cause unlike the other bats fear and fear of the unknown are Batman’s first and best tools. Tools that Batman spent years learning long before he took the streets of Gotham. And years refining long before robin.

A Batman whose name is still spoken with a sort of reverence and fear by all but the strongest and most eccentric rouges and even then there’s pause. Like one mention of his name and not a nickname and you might summon him.

A Batman where even Superman and Wonder Woman who have worked with him for years and are his best friends slip and just see danger. Feel a primordial sense of fear because for just a second it’s not Batman infront of them it’s an unknown cloaked in shadow that is unnerving in the way it moves.

A Batman where Gordon still has to stop his breath from hitching when ever Batman suddenly drops by. Because even after all these years something about Batman still unnerves him.

A Batman where even though they know this is their dad/mentor the Batkids still tense a little when they didn’t sense him approach. And all of sudden there’s a feeling of foreboding is creeping down there necks. Cause he may have taught them the basics of what they know they don’t use fear the way he does.

I’d just like to see more of that.

Tim Drake is usually called the smart Robin which I like don't get me wrong but all of the bats are smart and I do love my Tim but my Tim is just a bit different.

I want Tim drake half out of his mind fucking with Lex Luthor while he chugs 6 monsters. I want baby stalker who was heavy breathing putting together a red string murder board at 3:00 am with very sketchy stalker pictures of the Wayne's.

I want titans tower where Tim knew it was Jason and is about to home alone that shit. While also internally fanboying and giving Jason tips on how to murder the joker.

Tim Drake who doesn't get disturbed by Ra on Tuesday cause he knows Tim has plans with young Justice and Tim will destroy all of his bases again if he is bothered.

Tim who thought Damian was adorable and everytime he makes an attempt on his life gets a new paint set because that is the Drake way and no little brother of his isn't gonna understand premeditated murder.

TIM Drake who owns up to the clones and the boy who Kon knows is a little murdery gremlin and loves that about his boyfriend.

My Tim drake need to be balls to the wall fucking insane or I don't want that shit.
